Has anyone confirmed that I would be able to use a US Cellular S6 Edge on Cricket. I have read quite a bit of info on the subject and it looks like all the CDMA versions of the phone have the appropriate band support, although I may have to root it and enable them in the service menu. Does this sound correct? Thanks for the help!!
I just bought one from eBay 2 days ago. It's a US celluar s6 edge and it's working on cricket for me. The only problem I have is that sometimes it won't let me send text messages. I have to switch airplane mode on then off and it will work. When I try to add the apn it will save but after about an hour it gets erased.
The only problem I had was not being able to text when it was on 4glte. I rooted it and set my network to wcdma preferred and now I don't have any issues. Texts, calling and data all work great

OK, I cannot find this information anywhere so maybe someone here can help me.
My wife bought a Galaxy S5 and we had quickly paid it off. Because we only get 2G where we live , we decided to switch to Straight Talk.
After a week of Straight Talk not working correctly (we would have Full LTE service but could not make or recieve calls) we then ported to Cricket AIO.
We are having the same issue and don't know where to start. I wiped out the factory image and installed a debloated Rom thinking removing some
T-Mo junk would help but it doesn't. Everything is correct, APN settings and all. Can somebody shed some light and let me know what to try next?
Thanks
Try *#2263# from the dialer and select GSM networks instead of automatic.
Let us know how it goes.
I am currently using a t-mobile galaxy s5 on cricket without any problems.
Using the stock rom (rooted) I have a cricket SIM card in the device. I booted up the device, went to settings, then more networks, then mobile networks, then default setup and chose automatical. Then, I chose the automatic network option. You could always use the search now option and manually select AT&T.
Next I added the APN. The cricket website has them available so you can manually add them, but I actually had a little icon pop up that let me install them automatically.
Either way, correct APN is essential for texts and LTE.
I then downloaded titanium backup and manually removed t-mobile bloatware. I then downloaded the cricket apps that were recommended (cricket sent a text with the apps when I inserted the cricket SIM)
Finally, I edited the build.prop to say the device is a cricket galaxy s5. I think I changed it to model klteaio.
Other than the boot animation (which I could change if desired) this device is now identical to my Cricket galaxy S5 that I also own. It even says cricket on the top bar like the Cricket branded device. As a matter of fact, the back cover and the startup animation are the only way I can tell the difference between the two.

You may want to consider using an app called LTE discovery from the app store to ensure you have lte as an option. I have found that selecting the WCDMA/GSM option instead of the default LTE/WCDMA/GSM under settings-> MOBILE NETWORKS -> NETWORK MODE sometimes provides better service on cricket when the LTE signal is poor. This will turn off LTE, but leave 3G, 2G, talk services enabled.
Good luck.
Zero Lemon was the issue.
After a bunch of testing, I figured out that the zerolemon 8,500mah battery seemed to cause the issue. When we put the original battery back in, calls worked just fine. I tried again with the zerolemon and calls failed.
Thanks for reporting back. I wonder if your extended battery pushes too much load on your device.
If you happen to pop-in the lemon again, put this code in your dialer and let us know what Voltage reads your getting.
Also mention the battery's charge level at the time.

Hello. I have an SM-G925F which I bought from Telekom Macedonia and I am still using my number from there also but I am currently in the US and would like to use it on T-Mobile USA.
I know that the device supports all the same bands as the SM-G925T model.
The problem I am having is that when my phone is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM in the Network Mode settings, I do not have any data connection at all, only when I make a call, I start to get a data connection but only 3G/H+. If I switch my setting to WCDMA/GSM, then I get a data connection at all times like normal but it still is only 3G/H+. I have tried two different APNs and different settings in the APN but I still cannot get a data connection at all times on the LTE/WCDMA/GSM setting and I cannot get LTE/4G at all.
After contacting T-Mobile, all they came up with is to try to have the same software reinstalled on my phone. Does anyone have any experience with this and can anyone help me?
Anyone?
Call Tmobile and have them input your phone's IMEI in their system. Ask for the APN settings as well. I am on the same boat and one call to ATT got me from H to 4G. Your phone will just show 4G, not LTE but you will get LTE speeds regardless.
I tried doing that too. I called T-Mobile a few times and they confirmed my IMEI number being on the account but still no luck. It's really weird..sometimes I get 3G/H+ on the "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)" network mode setting on the phone but most of the time, I get NO DATA connection at all..only the signal bars.
Any Update
Did you finally figure it out? Is LTE working now?
I love this phone....there, I said it. But it's driving me crazy.
I bought it from a Chinese retailer, who shipped it with X821 firmware, but the box states that it's an X820. I doubt there is any difference in the hardware.
I would have left everything as it was, but I can't seem to make phone calls (don't have a data plan yet...yeah, I know....) with anything other than 2G, and that is about to go extinct. When I set it to WCDMA, it shows a UMTS connection, with no carrier designation, but the tower is the same one I connect to with 2G. The phone does sometimes show an AT&T 3G connection in the status bar, but I can't make calls, even though I have full signal. When I place the same SIM in my old HTC Inspire, the same monitoring app shows "UMTS - AT&T HSDPA+" and works just fine.
I'm at my wits end. I have rooted, installed TeamSpain recovery, replaced the firmware with the X829 and even tinkered with the frequency configurations through DFS Studio (which did a lot of complaining, and I'm still not sure if the changes stuck 100%). I also played with APN settings and tried the SIM in different slots, both alone, and with another SIM. And after all of that, still no progress in getting this phone to use a 3G or 4G connection to make calls. If I don't set it to "GSM only", no phone calls in or out. I'm essentially right under a tower, so signal shouldn't be an issue.
If anyone is using the same provider in the US, and is not having these kinds of issues, I'd really appreciate hearing what firmware you are using, and/or what you did to get things working.
I am using it on x820 with official stock 0.17s firmware, and did a dirty flash to cuoco92's 17s firmware. Everything works including HD voice calls, and full LTE.

I tried this, as well as the Remix ROM. In fact, I think I've tried just about everything, without success. At one point, I had one of the apps indicating a 4G connection, but the phone diagnostics showed GSM (2G). Even the apps aren't all sure what to make of what's going on with the connections reported by this phone.
Currently on the cuoco92 v35 ROM. When WCDMA is enabled, I see simply a good UMTS connection , sans carrier name, in the "Network Cell Info Lite" app, and no ability to make calls. I also often (but not always) see the "AT&T 3G" sign. 4G or LTE never shows at all, even though the diagnostics show that the phone is communicating with an LTE transmitter, when preferred network is set to "unknown". It won't even let me set things like "LTE only".
Any chance you could set your phone to WCDMA and see what the "Network Cell Info Lite" app shows you? Anyone else with this phone on AT&T?
BTW, I am now using a data plan, which I thought might make a difference. It doesn't. EDGE data only for me . New SIM card is on the way, but my hopes aren't high.
Is it possible for a Chinese seller to have borked the phone so thoroughly with their x821 ROM (it's an x820 marked phone), that it keeps any subsequent radios from flashing properly? I don't know how/why it would work for some and not others.
Starting to really dislike this "phone"......it's more of tablet at this point.
Thanks.
I think APN is not set for AT&T
try this:
"Main steps
To use data services on our network with a non-AT&T device, you may need to program the data settings. The sections below provide the correct settings and steps for programming based on your device type and operating system.
.
Access the Settings menu.
Locate and select Wireless & Networks or More Networks.
Select Mobile Networks.
Select Access Point Names.
Locate and select the option to add a new APN. This is usually accessed by a + symbol on the screen or by tapping the menu button.
Program each field using the settings below.
Save the changes to return to the APNs menu and select the new APN.

Thanks, but I wish it were so simple. I have tried this, and other APN settings. None work to get this phone to be usable on anything other than 2G.
I just received and activated the replacement SIM. Still no improvement. While typing this, I have Network Cell Info Lite app running, and with the Set Preferred Network Type showing "Unknown" in the phone's diagnostic screen, It will switch randomly between "EDGE AT&T" (which works fine) and "UMTS -" (which is useless). Both have strong signals. For a split second before it switched to "UMTS-", the app showed "GPRS AT&T", but only for a split second before it kicks over to "UMTS-".
I wish someone using this "phone" on AT&T in the US, would run this app to compare notes. It may be that that the phone works fine on a full implementation of LTE (i.e. in locations where AT&T have already deprecated 2G) but not in other areas. Still, that doesn't seem to explain why this phone seems unable to register on the same 3G network, used easily by my other phone, with the very same APN settings and SIM.
You would have to call att and check if they turned our phone on to use lte. If your phone is not "registered" as an LTE capable phone it wouldn't be able to pick it up. This phone has all the bands needed for AT&T because I am using it now. All LTE work straight out the box, and i'm on the latest 19s cn rom

I'm a bit confused. Is this what you did to achieve proper function of this device? I.e. calling AT&T and getting them to do this for you? My conversation with their tech person didn't seem to bear fruit in this regard.
Also, which slot do you have the SIM card in? I've used the stock 17s and now on cuoco92 v35 ROM. There definitely seems to be a difference in how the network settings behave, based on the location of the SIM. At one point, after selecting BAND 6 (when it would let me), the phone showed a constant "AT&T 3G" connection, but it was useless. No calls and no data.
Hello everyone. I jsut got my Le Max 2 yesterday and noticed a very annoying issue. I can't send or receive MMS messages....that is unless I manually change my network from 4G to 3G. It's very strange that the phone doesn't do this itself.
I've entered in all the correct APN settings (this was needed in order for me to get 4G speeds. The downside is that it only stays on 4G unless i tell it to switch.
Some useful info:
I am on the stock rom 5.8.018S (stable)
I went into the menu via dialer *#*#4636#*#* and have selected LTE/GSM
I 'm on the Fido network in Canada (same as Rogers)
Will flashing another, newer rom solve my problem? Any help or advice would be appreciated!
I am with Freedom Mobile and do not have 4G. In the phone settings, dual SIM networks, network mode, even I set to 4G priority, I can get 3G without problem . In the *#*#4636#*#*, it was set to unknown by default. If you set it to LTE/GSM, I don't see how you can get 3G.

If I don't set it to that I won't get LTE. I can also leave it at unknown but it'll stay on 4g at all times. Point is, unless I manually go and select 3G priority and have the phone stay in 3G I won't be able to send/receive MMS.
I'm also having issues with the LED. It only works for text messages but doesn't light up for Hangouts or email (emails don't push either). As you can see lots of annoying issues! I'm not sure it's worth keeping the phone unless flashing a rom will solve this things.
According to the specification sheet, my Le Max 2 (Model X820) has all the bands required for Verizon. I am always interested in finding out whether it can be used on Verizon network, and if so, how. I have done quite a bit of experiments and would like to share my findings.
First thing first, and I am sure most of us know it - you cannot activate a Verizon SIM using this phone. It must be an activated Verizon SIM that you pop into this phone.
I am using an Xfinity Mobile SIM, which uses Verizon. It is not a Verizon prepaid or post-paid SIM. I do not think it makes any difference in my experiment though.
I can get one of the two working conditions: (1) 3G voice + 3G data, or (2) 4G data but no voice. In case (1), the phone is connected to Verizon’s EvDo network. Voice works fine. Data also works, but it is only 3G. In a phone call, data is disconnected, which is what an EvDo network does. In case (2), LTE data works, but Voice is out of service. I did try VoLTE but to no luck (The same SIM works fine with VoLTE in a Nexus 6P).
To me, only case (1) is a workable solution. When one would like to think in case (2), we can supplement Verizon’s LTE data with voice from another SIM. It does not work. When LTE data is set to use Verizon, the other SIM does not work at all. Some people may be fine with Hangouts or a VoIP solution though.
For a dual-SIM set up, it goes like this: SIM 1 – Verizon, for voice/SMS, SIM 2 – ATT or T-Mobile, for data. The drawback is that when you are in a call, data is disconnected.
But even for such a set up to work, there is some work to be done. Based on my limited knowledge of how Verizon’s CDMA network works, it seems that for voice to work, some provisioning must be done (information such as MDN, PRL, etc.). I find that this provisioning is only doable in a Chinese stock ROM. Once that is done, use TWRP to make a copy of the EFS partition. That is my savior. With such a “provisioned” EFS, it is possible to use Verizon in custom ROMs such as RR or lineage. If this EFS partition is overwritten, then the phone will not work with Verizon in case (1).
I know in the past, people have used software such as CDMA workshop, or Qualcomm’s programming software to set parameters for CDMA network. I do not know if it will work for this phone or not. But that is clearly beyond my skill level.
How do you get 3g voice and 3g data work?
Heyyo, tbh I made a build of LineageOS 15.1 with some kanged verizon files from Sagit (Xiaomi Mi6) but of course I can't test it as I am in Canada... if you're willing to try it out and report your testing it would be appreciated.
LineageOS 15.1 test build with Verizon files:

This is the change:
https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_leeco/pull/25
I cannot test it since I am not on lineage. Op mentioned he can get 3g voice and 3g data. I would wonder how to get those since I only get 4g data.

Sorry for a late response.
For 3G voice and data to work, I chose to force 3G in settings. I used the RR ROM. Settings --> More --> Cellular networks --> Preferred network type: Choose 3G instead of LTE.
You can also use the dialer, enter *#*#4626#*#*, then Phone information. You can choose network mode there too.
