Greetings,I got that tablet today. It was previously used by some other guy very rarely for just around a month . He never dropped it and was always in it's leather case when not in use. He described to me that one part of screen in upper part is not working. I checked it and found out that there is a row in in the upper part of the screen, about 2 cm in height stretching to both ends(looks something like this,on image are two lines,i have just one that is not working http://i.stack.imgur.com/2QrJS.png ),is not responding but then above and under it all touch areas works fine again.I also noticed that it is somewhat working when I swipe fast on it,but if I tap or swipe normally,it is not working. On tablet is stock Android 4.1.1. What is causing the issue?

Hey guys,
My screen woes just won't go away. I dropped my phone a few weeks back and cracked the screen. Ordered a new one from eBay (Item number: 260818538062) with the faceplate and everything. Had it installed but then started noticing that SWYPE wasn't working as well because my words would start breaking midway. Installed Yet Another Multi Touch Test and when trying to paint realized that there is a very evident line on my screen that isn't working as well. That was one continuous movement of slow up and down jestures but as you can see, the touch sensitivity is much weaker as well as the screen sensing a second touch at some point.
What can I do? I will gladly take the thing apart and clean the connectors.. if that will help. But somehow am inclined to believe that the issue lies with the screen. Is there a software recalibration fix that exists perhaps? Anyone experienced the same thing and walked away with a working solution?
Please help and thank you in advance.
(EDIT) I've added a second attachment where I started going around the outer edges working my way in, there's definitely one faulty line in my screen!
(EDIT2) Found a native Android touchscreen test (white and green) thanks to a member named BryanNL in a different post. Basically had to dial *#0*# and chose it from a menu. This test claimed that I passed but you can see that it is not made to tackle an issue like mine.
Bumping.. Anyone please.
Hi folks
Just inherited a very worn out one year old Xperia X10 from my son. Been trying to resurrect it.
About 2 or 3 months ago the touchscreen started to become non-responsive occasionally. Admittedly, I didn't look at it for him at the time. Then he dropped it down the loo (think - hope! - there was only water in it at the time). We dried it out in the hotpress and it worked ok but still with intermittent touchscreen not working.
He got a Blackberry from Santa, so a couple of weeks ago I inherited the Xperia. The screen was cracked in several places and totally non-responsive. Rather than chuck it in the bin, I thought I'd try and fix it up. So I bought a new screen on ebay and the other night I dismantled it and fitted the new screen. Touchscreen is still totally non-responsive. There was a slight rust on the perforated metal plate at the back of the screen which I carefully cleaned with WD40. All the connections and circuits look ok. I've updated it successfully on both PC Companion and SEUS.. I've also tried flashing using instructions from this forum but cannot get it right (most flashtool symbols greyed out). I have a feeling that it's a simple problem but just can't get there. The screen display is fine, I can get the camera and the keyboard up using the buttons. But damned if I can get the touchscreen to work. I feel the problem harks back to when the screen was intermittent - it still worked after the water/screenbreak, but not that well.
Anybody got any ideas or should I bin it? (Can't seem to get any worthwhile advice on the WWW - happened upon this forum while searching and thought - "This is my MAN". (One suggestion I saw on the web was to try a new battery - can't see how this would make a difference, present battery working fine. Also, I wondered if the proximity sensor could be on all the time?)
I have got a (most likely) hardware related issue with the touchscreen of my Xperia U.
Some parts of the screen are not or barely responsive, which is very annoying when typing. I have to tap some letters twice before they actually work. (It's especially around the 'i', 'n' and 'e' when I have my keyboard open by the way.)
I was running stock Android GB and I'm now running stock Android ICS, after I updated my phone the problem was still there which is why I assume it's hardware related. There does seem to be a slight improvement though, but that's probably because ICS feels a bit faster (so far).
Like five minutes ago I noticed something very strange, when I put my finger near the 'N' on the keyboard, but not touching the screen itself, it kept touching it like 10 times a second, sometimes holding the touch so it would result in a ';', but that's not really relevant I guess. It stopped doing that after I turned the screen off and on again by the way.
Now I've downloaded a drawing app on my phone, to see if the phone would skip the parts that were responding bad, but that wasn't the case.
(I would send a picture, but I'm not allowed to send outside links as I'm a new user, sorry. )
There is a chance that this problem is caused by a kind of overpowered charger I had been using last summer, because when I plugged that in, the phone started doing the same, only waay worse. I haven't used it for almost 3 months though, and the problem occurred just a few days ago, which is pretty weird.
I can probably get a replacement touch screen for free because my brother had this phone too and he bought a new phone because the glass of his screen broke.
But I hope I don't have to use that, haha
Is there any solution to this without taking it to a service center or replacing it?
Thanks!

Lots of touchsscreen thread in the forum, search and see what they did
Hi there.
STAR 8000 (MyAudio 5) broken, dysfunctional touch panel software fish definitely got me.
Ordered to N8000 touchpad while I tested some ROMs.
There was one which worked, but slightly wrong color (purple) in the image.
Came the touch, I put, it went perfectly.
I tested a few ROMs, now the color has been good, because I managed to find out which type of LCD's in it, but the touch interestingly it works: it's like and would reflect the length of the touch halved.
So, from the top downwards finger scroll halfway down, half of the top.
The Menu and Back buttons do not work, Home work.
In vain I packed back in front of the ruins, we do not go. W
I suffered a lot already and it did not find any meaningful information about what should be done occasionally.
Touch screen chip : FT5306..
He met someone like already?
Can any one help?

Same happened with a Galaxy Ace touchscreen I replaced (I own a phone repair shop). I changed it 3 times before understanding why it was behaving like that. There could be 4 options.
1) chinese replacement do not always work as expected
2) the chip/sensor has been unmagnetised (can happen with everything, a magnet or even the phone antenna)
3) there is some dirty between the LCD and the touchscreen
4) the replacement is not exactly the one you need
The galaxy Ace model I had to replace was S5830i but the chinese replacement was for the S5830 (sold as working for the S5830i too)

I know, exactly what happened to me. Then it started working by itself.
Hey there!
I bought the Le max 2 820x three days ago and since then I have a small issue with the Touch screen.
The right corner of the screen does not react when lightly pressed. I need to press a little bit harder for it to work..
This only occurs when the phone is laying on a surfice. When I have it laying on my hand it works without a problem..
Can this be fixed? or should i return it? is installing a Rom or something rapair the phone?
