I am due for an upgrade June 1st, and one of the biggest things I am looking at is the dev communities for each. I absolutely despise Touchwiz, which means, if I get the S4, I'm unlocking it literally the second it is in my hand, On the flipside, I would like to keep up with Android versions, so the 4.1.2 on the HTC One irks me a bit(so I'd unlock that as well). Anyway, I was wondering if any of the devs here are working on, or planning to get and work on, either of these devices. It would be kind of nice to keep the same ROMs across devices if possible. Thanks!

This is the correct forum? I guess I should edit my post to make it clearer, but I was asking if any Nexus 10 devs are also working on either device.

hey my upgrade is June 1st as well lol
i think im going to get the S4. looks like $149.99 for Sprint?
tried last week (about 15days til 1st) said i could get can early upgrade for $100. smh
today is about 9 days i guess, wonder if they will let me upgrade without that fee
As soon as there is an unlock for the ATT Galaxy S4 I bet Ktoonsez will start making kernels for that. he has a great kernel for the S3 and I know he owns an S4 now.
Good news guys! leanKernel creator Imoseyon just pre-ordered the phone!

this is one of the great benefits of being on a nexus device (I say this after owning the n1, ns, gn, n4, n5...and then the moto x, moto x 2014); you don't have to worry about dev support
Yeah the nexus 9 was my first nexus device and now I will buy Nexus 6P that will be my first nexus phone! I will never go back to Samsung again after I used Stock android on my Nexus 9
Exactly, the more xda Developers the better and Nexus attracts like a magnet!

If PA team doesn't decide to get back and develop, stock android will remain boring as hell. 100 developers copy pasting each other, posting same roms.

Then why don't you learn development and show those "copy paste" devs how it's done.

Not my field, but just saying what it really is. Developer of this kernel is great though. Love his approach. Never failed during nexus 6.

He's not wrong though. The Nexus is so easy to develop for that wannabe devs just create duplicate roms and kernels with very little difference!
Everything is pretty much laid out for you to plagiarize...
That's great news!
But thread is off topic. And now closed. :good:

Just wanted to say well done to the nexus crowd, I've been reading for a few days until today when I got my 6P, and I have to say that this is probably the friendliest forum I've been to on xda.
I've been in some places where people will flame you or be abruptly defensive for no reason , I'm not feeling that here so well done, not sure if its intentional or not but its a breathe of fresh air for me.
:good:
And that is why you buy a Nexus
P.S. Not trying to be offensive, but the forums of lower-end, regional devices are generally less populated and more hostile towards newcomers.

Wow! You're right! It seems we have all been on XDA for a while now, I joined back in like May of 2011 or sometime around them, and this is the nicest and most pleasant I've seen these forums. I actually stopped coming to XDA up until just recently when I purchased my Nexus 6P because I was sick of everyone being assholes.

I wonder if the reason for that is because you have to purchase the phone outright in most cases, instead of making payments to a carrier. Maybe makes for a different mix in here than most of the other forums?

Perhaps, however I am on a contract maybe there are a lot of people who bought it outright? I think it's due to the volume of development, it paves the way for choice. When they're far and few between people tend to have shorter and less patient tempers.
Yup, great crowd in this corner of the site.
But this is off topic, so I'm going to close the thread now.
Your words are appreciated by all though I sure. :good:

POCO F1 would run better with Android One or MIUI?

Haven't received mine yet, but my impression is that it runs like greased lighting even with MIUI. Very likely it will run a shade better with a lighter AOSP firmware or with an android one build, but I'm guessing the speed of the hardware would be pretty forgiving! Looking forward to something closer to stock, simply cos that's the way I like it
Since they mentioned that they made some optimizations on top of miui during the event I would say debloated MIUI would be the smoothest experience
Stock Android isn't better than miui. Here is comparition between mi6x and mi a2. Its the same phone
https://youtu.be/aucLognRHqg
I think this is a question of personal choice and preference. I don't know what to do with all that MIUI features and stuff. I think LOS or AOSP or Nitrogen or similar with Poco. That would be nice.

I personally cant wait for miui 10 since beta is already is performing much better than miui 9
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbDGlg8qqFI
In my case, MIUI 9 works fluid and conserves battery better than what I expected. It feels like Mi A1 on stock Android and 4000 mAh battery.
On top of that, I turned off MIUI Optimizations so you might to try that as well.
If it were launched with Android One, it would have killed every fkin device on the planet.
Talking about custom ROM, however skilled you are, some features are really hard to port, most famous example is VOLTE, on some phones it's hard to port while on others developer don't want to.
Depends what you mean by "better". Everyone has their own idea of best.

I don't know how he trebalized MiA1, but the logic and arguments he is using to defend Xiaomi makes me feel like he is an idiot.

Why always these personal attacks and defamation? And Dan have made much more than treblizing stuff for the tissot. Further, I have 10 Mi devices, but also not agreed with lot of things Xiaomi doing. Is that a reason for an offence?

Yes, Poco is now my main - A1 is retired.
@shailendra1993 you have already been warned by XDA staff for your spam and spreading of outright lies. Do you want to be permanently banned or something?

Yes, I did create a lot of threads and that is my fault I agree but this guy had accused me of being a jerk and had said that I am lying while I am not.
He already called me names, no one defended me by saying that those were personal attacks, now you are offended?
Apart from that, he himself said in a post that Poco F1 seems to have atleast 2 different digitizers in which one is good while the other one has fault, now, do you want to defend a company who does such things?
Almost all Indian Poco F1 units seems to be affected by this, this is not a small issue but a major one. Also, the device is in replacement but the company who sold me this device (Flipkart) refuses to return it and asked me to go to service center while the device was in return period.
What would you do if you were in my shoes? Xiaomi is not replying to any email, tweet or bug reports. So the only viable choice is to post it everywhere possible.

I was kind until he started attacking me on each and every post. I have no problem with him btw. He can mind his own business, so can I.
Over 100 people have already confirmed the issue, but he still thinks that only I am having the issue or I am lying.
