[Question] Protecting my cerberus - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Hi, i have a quick question. I've installed cerberus, hidden it and made it a system app using Link2SD. From my understanding, now if somebody factory resets my phone it will stay there hidden. But somebody can still acces recovery mode or S/W mode and flash a new ROM which will wipe the whole system including cerberus. Is there any way for me to ,i don't know, lock this modes with a password or something ? My last phone got stolen so i am super sensitive when it comes to countermeassures.

If you aren't allowed to install a root explorer app ..the odds aren't good ..
But depending on how brave you are ....you could push an entirely new rom image ....if you can get into download mode..
My initial thought was to push clockwork mod via Odin ...then install a root explorer apk and delete the surelock apk ...but it's likely going to block that ...so I went back to the new rom idea...
I suppose you could do an emergency restore through kies ...but you would need to block data from restoring the apps again ...
Gosh ...that's a tough one to be sure ...g
How about instead of getting fired, leave it alone.....
LOL ....
Well yeh ....there's always that option ....but mine is a lot more fun ....
And you can plead insanity or a virus attack ...g
they locked keyboard options and we log in thru password with spell check and autocorrect so it makes inputing a password very difficult .cannot log into phone to use annoying

It can be bypassed by restarting the smartphone in safe mode. I'm not sure how to solve that.. maybe complete encryption of the device?
how to unlock surelock??
Hello community!
I have a lenovo Tab 4 10'. it is locked by surelock. I tried resetting by entering in to safemode-->wipe data. but there is no such option in the recovery mode (wipe data/factory reset). Is there any other way that i could reset my device?
Long press the poweroff option to enter safemode, provided safemode is not locked in surelock (if safemode and recovery is also locked, then no other option to bypass surelock). Then in safemode disable admin access for surelock and then clear default for surelock in apps settings. Go to playstore and install any launcher (google now works better) and set it as default home in settings. Finally restart the tablet. Now you have bypassed surelock but surelock is there with its settings intact. Launch surelock and follow onscreen instructions to enter surelock if there is any inspection or in situations to hide your bypassing. To bypass surelock again, follow the steps once again from beginning. Hope this helps

I messed up, please help

Long story short i deleted my data/app file(accidentaly). Sony xperia S android 4.2.1 i think... Dont ask how that happened. So right after i deleted it by mistake everything started crashing many apps stopped working. Immediatly after doing that i restored a restore point and rebooted. As you would expect my phone is password protected, but when i klick the password slot id doesnt show the keyboard nor the option to change keyboard because i was using swift key keyboard. Now i cannot enter my phone, so i think that i should do s factory reset but i cant do that. I know that i saw a factory reset option on the sony software updater on my pc because i wanted to update my phone. Also when i tried to root my phone i could not flash it some broken driver issue (was not able to fix) so i finally rooted it with the root tool kit. Well please help me with this. Also i assume that the restore point didnt work. Please help :crying: :crying:
Hmm. So you deleted your /data/app folder and most of the apps are gone? Whoops! lol And you are rooted. Do you have a custom recovery? I'm assuming so since you said you tried to restore a backup, is that correct? It would probably just be easiest to factory reset in recovery as that will remove the password and then when it boots, you can restore the keyboard app. Other option is trying to remove the password in recovery (has to be custom) with adb commands as you won't be able to while booted due to the password.

So i was wondering if theres a app that turns my android tablet into a keyboard for my phone. Ive been looking but only found bluetooth and wireles keyboard wich wont do me any good since my phone is locked. Also is there an app that could hack my phone since its rooted.
Pretty sure you're out of luck without the PC.

[Q] Phone doesn't start with the new launcher. What to do?

So, I bought a cheap non-branded chinese android smartphone. The handset was full of useless pre-installed apps and I just cleaned them out. I rooted the phone with the VRoot tool and it looked like everything goes well, untill I made a factory reset. I installed a new launcher, of course to the /system/app/ folder and it worked with it. The phone has some kind of startup setup (like the iPhones) which comes up after the reset, before the launcher could start. In this procedure, the last step is to tap on an android logo to begin using the phone. So for now, even if I tap it for a houndred of times, the thing won't start, it sticks in this setting window. I pretty much think, this happens because of the new launcher, because the app is probably looking for the old one. Now I am in the deep sh***t.
The followings are known:
- I can't use ADB to repair it, because the factory reset automatically unchecks the USB debugging.
- No firmware or recovery backup available to reflash the handset. The phone has a qualcomm MSM7225 CPU.
- I have the factory apps.
- The phone has factory recovery, so I can't install custom backup.
- I can enter in fastboot mode.
I think, this is all I know. Anyone has some advice to repair it?
Thanks is advance.

Prevent Android System from Wiping?

hey guys please help me,
I got an Xperia Z from my Friend rooted and all that. he wants to lock that someone can wipe his system, so i flashed him twrp and locked it with an Password theme, whichs is working.
Problem is although it asks for an password if you boot into the recovery directly, it still wipes if i reset the phone with my normal settings.
can someone please tellme how can i rmove or disable or hide the Backup and Reset Tab in the Settings of the Xperia??
Thanks in Advance tho
You can set up a passcode/PIN/Pattern/etc to stop access to the Settings app itself, but have never seen a way to hide 1 specific thing in the Settings. If the phone is encrypted with a password, I think it requires the code before resetting, but am not 100% sure of that.

Unlocking phone without losing data

Hello to all,
i have an xperia z3 compact and i left it out of use for a while due to broken screen, i finally changed the screen but realised that i have forgotten the lock pattern.
Any way to unlock it without losing my data in the internal memory?
If it helps and if i remember correctly,
1) i had usb debugging and developer options enabled
2) i haven't rooted it (for sure).
3) phone has kept the credentials for my wifi, gmail, etc, so it's connected when i turn it on (and of course i have those credentials).
4) it probably has android 6 (marshmallow) installed.
5) i tried with "find my device" from google, and while it sees my phone, it says "Find My Device is turned off" so the option for locking it anew is greyed out and i can't access it, so this method doesn't work.
Any ideas? is it possible to bypass the pattern and get inside to get my stuff and apps?
thank you to anyone reading this and wanting to help me out.
I don't think that's quite possible. The few ways to bypass the lock have pretty much disappeared with recent Android versions.
Best of luck!
thank you, i'm so frustrated. At first i wanted to save my data and bypass the pattern, now i just want to be able to use my phone again even if i lose the data and i can't even do that!
There is no hard reset for this model!
I just can't believe that there isn't any way possible to get back your phone if you forgot your pattern!
no way to have recovery or TWRP in a locked phone with usb debugging on?
no way to push adb commands?
There should be something for situations like that
