I have a stock m7 that has never been rooted. It keeps restarting and if i load to the bootloader it pops up errors that look like the OTA update may have failed. I'm trying to update with a RUU file, but don't know if it matters which one i use. I know that i have to use the amercian tmobile, but can i just get the newest one or do i have to match versions to what was on my phone?
Any advice would truly be appreciated.

I'm getting error 155 when I try to restore my phone with RUU. I thought I was running 1.22.651.3, but when I run the RUU, it says I'm running 1.13.651.1. I've tried both RUU's getting the same result. I have the drivers installed and I relocked my bootloader. And I have done this process before, but I've never gotten this error before. I'm currently running fresh-evo-lte-5.1.1 on my phone which may be causing the problem. I'm going to attempt to restore to default rom and retry it after I finish posting this, and I will let you know how that works. If anyone has any ideas or recommendations, please message me. Thanks.
Edit: I restored back to default rom and to 1.13.651.1 and no longer got the error. However, now I got a different error of error 140: Bootloader Version Error. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks.

I figured out my problem. I needed to restore back to default rom, then run RUU 1.22.651.3 and it worked. Hope this helps others.

Hi guys,
2.95, hboot 1.58
I have a Sprint device that I moved to Ting and I can't get it activated. My Evo3d was a launch day phone and I have owned it the whole time without issues until now.
The problem is that the PRL/Profile simply will not update even when I manually enter the MDN and MSID. I'm trying to flash a stock rom to my phone as Ting suggested but I am having quite a bit of trouble. I have gone through the HTC dev tools and I have S-On (unlocked). However, I simply cannot manage to get any ruu to flash over as it always fails with error code 155 or 140. I'm getting really quite frustrated and due to the nature of Ting being a MVNO they don't exactly have anywhere I can stop in and get help at. I must be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Edit: I have also tried putting a PG86IMG.zip directly onto the sd card and updating that way without success.

Okay, I successfully got Negalite blu-rom on the phone but I still cannot update PRL/profile or activate.
edit: Now I appear to have overwritten my stock backup. I could really use help here if anyone can point out how I can get back to a stock configuration. I obviously suck at this.
You can find the stock 2.89 rom here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420206&highlight=stock
This is rooted obviously.
If you want to ruu, you need to flash this first in recovery:http://db.tt/hiENKUvK
Then lock the bootloader and run the latest available ruu for 2.89.

Brian,
Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out my issue. I sent Ting the correct ESN when porting my phone and numbers over and somehow when Sprint ported my information they supplied the wrong ESN to Ting. I even called Sprint when I could not activate and they told me the correct ESN over the phone but when I checked with Ting on a whim it was different by only 3 digits with the last digit being identical...talk about easy to miss. Once this was corrected I was able to activate. I am super happy with the Nagalite rom I am running and I like it much better than stock so I am fine with sticking with it right now
Awesome! Glad you got it figured out thanks for letting us know what the problem was!
I've tried restoring my HTC One to stock rom for more than a day now with no luck.
I converted my ATT HTC One to stock Android 4.3. I've tried flashing several stock roms i found from xda developers and all of them "sucessfully install" but the phone never goes past the green bar. The green bar gets to full but the phone never reboots after that. I've also tried to change CID. I've changed it to the stock, CWS__001, and Supercid and that doesn't work either. I downloaded the ruu cingular.exe file and it fails to run. It gives me an error saying Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. My hboot is currently 1.54 and ive restored it to 1.44 but that didnt make a difference either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I rooted my HTC One M7 (AT&T) and am tired of playing around. I am trying to get as close back to complete stock as I can. I re-locked my bootloader, I am S-On, I followed all the instructions I could find online, but when I try to use the ruu exe, I get stuck at "sending 1/6". I am not positive if I am using the correct ruu but I am pretty sure. Bootloader says my OS is 4.18.502.7 (4.20.502.1) and the ruu I downloaded is "RUU_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_Cingular_US_4.18.502.7_R10_Radio_4T.24.3218.09_10.26.1718.01L_release_356565_signed_2" I don't know what I should try now. I have managed to keep myself unbricked but I figured I should ask before I do something dumb. I want to go back to stock so I can receive OTA updates through the phone, and not have any root capabilities. My HBOOT is 1.56.0000 if that makes a difference. Sorry if this makes no sense, as I am new and trying to make sense of it all.
Any help is appreciated and if this is in the wrong spot, I am sorry in advance.
I recently decided that I wanted to unroot my HTC Droid DNA. I am just tired of the bugs that come with custom roms and I never really took advantage of root. I tried to use RUU to unroot but I kept getting error 155. I found out that is caused by having the wrong hboot version. I had 1.57 and needed 1.54. I downgraded but accidentally went down to 1.33 and now my computer won't recognize my phone so I can't upgrade my hboot to what I need it to be. I have tried to install the drivers manually the same way I did when I first decided to root my phone but it says that the drivers aren't compatible. Does anyone know of any drivers that I can use or any other way I can unroot my phone? Thanks in advance!
I found a stock android 4.4.2 rom and have decided to just use that rather than unroot my phone. I would still like to know how to update my hboot though so that I can use fastboot. Is there a way I could do it through recovery? If not I guess I need to drivers for hboot 1.33.
