Nandroid Backup pro - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to switch from a LG Nexus 5 to a Nexus 6. Before switching I will do a full backup with Nandroid Backup. I am considering to buy the Pro version. I want to know if I can transfer the license from the Nexus 5 to the nexus 6 ?
In other words if I am buying the pro version and making a full backup on my Nexus 5. Will I be able to restore it on the Nexus 6 or do I need to buy another license for the Nexus 6 ??
Thanks

You can't make a Nandroid on one phone and restore it on another. It would softbrick the new one. For backing up apps & data, use Titanium Backup. For texts, use SMS Backup & Restore.
But yeah, the lisence will transfer.

Thanks, I am aware that a full backup would brick the phone. Thanks for the tips.
I will follow them.

Backing up before flashing

Does ROM Manager back up my apps or do I need to run another program like Titanium to back everything up? I want to be able to make sure all of my programs and texts are recoverable after I flash a new rom. Thanks
If you make a nandroid backup, then yes, your apps are backed up.
Will that save texts and is that another program I need to d/l?
It will save your apps and texts, but those will not be recoverable on your new rom. If you restore your nandroid, you're restoring everything - rom, kernel, apps, data, etc. If you want to restore apps/data & texts on another rom after wiping, you'll need to use Titanium Backup for apps and SMS Backup & Restore (or another app of your choice) for texts.
I highly suggest purchasing the Pro version of TB. You get a ton of useful features like background restores and it's worth it for how much you'll use it. I bought it from the Market but I've heard that it's a bit cheaper from the website. The free version should be enough if you don't want to buy it.
Also avoid restoring system data across different roms, it can cause problems.

The free version does not allow restoring apps from nandroid.
I believe mybackuppro on the market will backup texts and call history. Not 100% sure...check it out.

But it does allow you to backup your apps and data. I didn't even think about that feature because I don't use ClockworkMod.

[Q] Titanium Backup / Restore ?

Using Titanium Backup I d/l and installed today.
I did a Backup of everything on my Galaxy S3 and I want to Restore it all to a new Galaxy S3 (yes, same phone, same everything, but a new one). When I get to the Restore it prompts me at each App (and I have many) to Install, after which I need to press Done. Is there anyway to do this in Batch mode so I can leave it run without having to attend this?
thanks
You have to purchase the pro version, which has an unattended batch restore.
maybe this wll help u

[Q] Local Backup for Titanium Backup with Dropbox?

I used the search function but I could not find any thread that fully answers my question. I have a rooted Nexus 7 with a pro key to Titanium Backup. After backing up my Nexus 7 first on my device, then to Dropbox, I was wondering if I can delete the backup on my device. If I do, can I send newer backups directly to my Dropbox folder or do I have to keep a local backup on my Nexus 7 at all time? Thanks for any help.

can i use my back of nexus 4 and restore it on nexus 5 ?

if using nexus 4 backup and restoring it on nexus 5 will not work. what are the alternatives do i have?

Well, you won't be able to restore a back up from your N4 onto your N5 and get a working device.
There are a lot of choices to back up and restore your apps. Titanium Backup is probably the most popular back up tool, and once you have backed up all your Apps on your N4 you just move the back up folder onto your N5. Install Titanium Backup on you N5 and then restore the saved back ups.
It is also possible to make a flashable zip of all your apps and then restore them from recovery. Just search in Android Apps and Games for "Back up" and you should be able to find it.

The Best Way To Backup & Restore Data

Hey
Im using Custom Roms now for over a year, but i always have one problem with restoring data.
I mostly use the Google Feature, that restores all your apps. But all the time i have to login in every app again and again. I mostly als make a Titanium Backup, but when i restore these over the preinstalled apps some apps crash or on Lineage OS the whole System was unusable. I also make a TWRP backup, restoring is not always possible when you switch to another Rom.
I also dont own Titanium Backup Pro, so autoinstalling dont work.
How do you restore apps + data ?
What guide did i miss ?
Thanks in advance
move up.
I 'm also interested which app for backup is recommend.
I know oandbackup and TitaniumBackup.
Till know I only tried oandbackup but there are several problems. Backup to SD-Card doesn't work. Also to internal storage the backup was complete but only a few MB big but should have a lot more.

TRY THIS APP
https://apkpure.com/backup-app-backup-restore/com.k2.backup
used to be on playstore but now removed
it copies your apk and data and restores it next time!
however later i found bug that it doesnt restore automatically
1. make backup by backup+ on customrom 9
1b. make backup of all APK by https://apkpure.com/app-backup-restore-easiest-backup-tool/mobi.usage.appbackup
flash new rom android 10
2a. restore APK only made by https://apkpure.com/app-backup-restore-easiest-backup-tool/mobi.usage.appbackup
2b, now create new apkonly bakeup only by backup+ and https://apkpure.com/backup-app-backup-restore/com.k2.backup
2c, restore "DATA ONLY" of PREVIOUSLY made backup by BACKUP+

After letting Google install all the apps just restore data from titanium, NOT app+data. Also, if you do this often just buy titanium. You spend so much money on the phone and titanium also works on all your future phones. It really saves you a lot of time and is well worth the money.
Titanium is the answer , it is feature packed as hell.
Also if you want to use a different android version backup to another version (Like from 9 to 10), you can always just restore the Data, it works for me always.
You can let google download all your previous apps in android 10 and then restore only data from Titanium, you can obviously batch select the apps to restore.

Do what you would normally do to restore any application, if the application is already installed you will be provided an option for restoring data only.

About the best way to Backup & Restore Data on Xiaomi phone, if there is a computer, my suggestion is Coolmuster Android Assistant. It's easy and safe. You just need to connect your Xiaomi phone to computer via usb cable, enable usb debugging on it. A deep scan later, you can take backup of your Xiaomi phone with 1-click. After that, you can use it restore data from backup directly.
