hey there ,
noticed there's a new Samsung feature with new devices update (ie. Galaxy s6 , Note 5) called "app optimization".
I'm trying to figure out what does it do? how will it affect my app if I'm being optimized? do I have a way to receive an Intent when my application entered an "optimized mode"?
Thanks

It really interests me, what is gained with rooting?
I do not need an explanation of how it's done, but what really do for a phone.
I am new at this, before I had a Nokia N900, so this is my first encounter with Android.
Second:
Is there an application for Samsung Galaxy S3 like the iPhone Cydia for iOS, where we can download applications?
Third:
For those who have encountered the problem like me. I turned off the S-voice and I lost the icon of the application.
I have unsuccessfully sought a solution.
Finally, I have solved the problem in a way that first I had to go to TASK MANAGER after which I choose ALL APPLICATIONS and that at the bottom of the list there are deactivated applications.
Had to change from DEACTIVATED to ACTIVATE and that returned the application icon and the application.
Fourth:
I installed Firefox 14 over Google Play, but it doesn't load any webpage. Properly installed, it start up, but does not open any webpage. Opera, Chrome work properly. Has anyone an idea why not?

Hi everyone,
I'm building simple web-app via WebView.
On the web page I have input textfield and I set
HTML:
<input type="tel"
to force android to show keypad instead of full keyboard.
The problem is that on Samsung (Galaxy S II, Galaxy Plus) phones I encounter two problems:
1. Approximately every 2nd time when I tap into this field application hangs and starts eating up to 50% of CPU
2. Sometimes after I tap into this field for some reason " ." (space and dot) symbols appear inside the field
Looking forward to your bright ideas
Thanks,
Ilya

I access it via my own application, which uses WebView component. I assume it uses some default browser?
I tried on Samsung Galaxy S II (Android 2.3.3), Samsung S Plus (Android 2.3.3 as well) -- issue is present
On LG Optimus One, Sony Xperia Pro, GoClever tablet issue does not appear at all.
It seems only Samsung devices affected... or Android 2.3.3...
Answer found.
Problem was not with type="tel" itself.
In some place I attempted set this field to hold alphabetical characters (not numerical ones) and it seems that was driving android crazy.
I've looked all over and some sites tell me Duo is not compatible with Galaxy Wearable and others say it is, what is the truth? I have a Galaxy Watch 3 connected to the Duo, I am able to get notifications, use Samsung Pay, and adjust the stock faces and settings. I am Not able to download new faces or access the store at all. I am wondering if I am missing something or is wearable just not 100% compatible with Duo?
Hey! I ran into the same thing, moving from a Samsung phone to a non Samsung phone for the first time with my galaxy watch was an adjustment. If you open the galaxy wear app and click discover at the bottom and click view more it will take you to a visibly different version of the watch app store. You can buy new apps, access your purchased apps, works totally fine.
Hi. I posted this in the Gerneral Q&A forum (here), which apparently doesn't seem like the right place to post that in.
Here it is:
Hi. I'm looking for a list of all the apps I can uninstall (or disable if necessary) for the device to keep working (and for the Settings app to still work). I did reset my device a few times after a DeadObjectException error and the Settings app not responding. Before reseting, I noted which apps I installed myself and retrieved my text message backup file (the contacts are there and also in my SIM card). Everything else is either backed up (e.g. Pocket Frogs data) or the data doesn't have to be kept (like clearing app data).
Please list apps as the package name (e.g. Pocket Frogs's package name is com.nimblebit.pocketfrogs), so I can quickly find and uninstall/disable them without choosing the wrong one by mistake.
Note: My samsung galaxy s7 is model g930t (I don't know if that has any affect) with my carrier as tmobile.

Correction: Listing the package name (e.g. google play services) is ok, but the file name (e.g. com.google.andoird.gms) is preferred. I changed to using APKSharp, developed by a fellow XDA member, which does display both name variations.
I currently have nothing on the device (stuff is either backed up/saved or deleted), so resetting is ok, though not preferred. I did check out other methods, but my device isn't supported for most of them. (It's the same samsung galaxy s7 G930T model with tmobile as the carrier.)
Note: A partial list is ok; I just want to get started somewhere without hitting errors and issues like "Settings keeps stopping".
Note 2: Stuff I don't use: samsung stuff, google stuff, bluetooth, nfc, dictionary, all game-related "tools", car mode, tv conenction, radio, voicemail, news/briefing, most tmobile stuff (excluding SIM card-related stuff), etc.

Ah, thanks. I've been looking for something like that for days... Also just found one here. Both, unfortunately, isn't specifically for an S7, but at least I can follow most of it.
Additional guides/threads: Galaxy S9 Plus and Galaxy S8. Also found one for S7 (and a script, too), but I'll have to verify it works with m device.
I guess my main issue is what do I need to keep for the device to function properly while removing bloatware via ADB or APKSpark (ADB-based I assume).
No idea why I couldn't find the lists before. Maybe I was looking in the "wrong" place.
Hi Everyone,
I need some help or suggestion from anyone who experienced or fixed the above issue. Browsing different forums I could not find any suitable solution for my particular case.
I cannot install the Galaxy Store apk on my device because when I launch the app the system says that my "device is not compatible with the Samsung Galaxy apps". This app was actually working in the past (only if launched from the Galaxy Wearable app menu) but now after the recent updates to make ECG and BP working again (thank you Dante for the excellent efforts and job done) this Galaxy Store app no longer works.
The reason why I need this application is that I want to buy watch faces for my Samsung Galaxy Active 2 (on Tizen O.S.) and using the Google Play Store app I can only find Watch faces for Wear O.S. that are not compatible with my watch. I have installed "Watch Maker" and "Facer" apps and, at the moment, I am buying watch faces from there, but the Watch faces I am interested to buy are only present on the Galaxy Store app.
Anyone able to help? Thank you.
Stefano
Hi again,
I just found a solution.
I have uninstalled any version of the Galaxy app store previously installed so that now there is no Galaxy Store app installed on my phone.
However this app already exists "built in" into the Galaxy Wearable application menu and launching the Galaxy app store from this menu fix the problem as the app will start and work normally.
Cheers
Stefano
