Battery lasts like 10 minutes - Dell Venue

Did a reset to try to fix the annoying noises when pressing buttons. Now the battery lasts about 10 minutes with screen on... Glad I still have warranty

I'm having the same problem but battery won't last me more than 3 minutes

same here. it's draining and I can see the % go down by 3-4% every few seconds

I'm going to try a factory reset

What device are we talking about here?
In a forum that covers multiple devices it would be helpful if the device was identified, if not in the actual post then in the title. Just saying.

Thank you.
So, has anybody hand any positive results with fixing the battery draining issue? And if so, what was the solution?

I was able to fix the horrible battery issue (10 mins) by reverting to 5.0. Haven't tried updating to 5.1 yet. Don't really see any reason to.

Thank you for that.
Which brings up another question. Of the people that are having the battery drain issue, How many are having it with the 5.1 update and of those, how many got it OTA and how many had 5.1 out of the box? I got myself one for Christmas which is under the tree until then. I did make sure it would boot up before I wrapped it up and checked to see what version it has and it is 5.1.

Just fyi I was running 5.1 fine for weeks. It wasn't until I attempted to install the newest stagefright ota on my rooted device that I encountered a battery issue. I can't pinpoint exactly when the problem arose, though.

This happened to me, too. The battery would drain in 3 minutes. Moreover, I could not get catlog to display anything. (I was trying to see if there were any messages that might give a clue as to what was happening.) To prepare for a warranty return, I copied everything in the internal memory to my external sdcard. That freed up a few GB of space. Upon rebooting, The tablet's behavior returned to normal. No more battery drain. I do not know for sure, but I suspect that somehow a low memory condition led to the OS thinking that battery was draining rapidly. This suspicion was further supported by the fact that it only took a few minutes for the battery to recharge. So, if your battery drains in minutes, it could be that it actually is not but that the system thinks it is because there is insufficient free internal memory. that may have been a coincidence, of course. but maybe not.

I had the exact same battery drain issue a couple months ago on 5.1. After about two weeks of experiencing this problem intermittently, it disappeared on its own.

my charging is working fine but after power on it stuck on logo

SOLVED the problem after re-flashing system firmware. Wiped the data files.

Grrr, I'm having the same problem. Might try a factory reset

1) I flashed blackburn DDO_BB and system.img from this LINK.
2) Update through OTA to Android 5.1. and reboot.
3) will receive OTA update again for Stagefright update IF u want update it. :fingers-crossed:
Note : if u go to step 3 u can't able to ROOT.

Same issue here,
I got my 7840 for 6 month now, and since a few days I my battery get some steps in it's charging / discharging trend
I will try your tips.

Hi,
I made some cleaning, free up some GB, and my tablets has returned to it's original battery duration !
very strange behavior !!
I didn't need to format. just remove some applications/ files

{HELP}{LG Optimus Net P690} Crash! Please get Ramdump!

Hi,
I've a problem with my LG optimus net p690.
Sometimes it crashes and says "Crash! Please get Ramdump!" I will remove the battery and re-insert it and it starts working. But it happens atleast 4-5 times a day. It will not happen for a specific application or something like that, it will when am listening to music, when i recieve a call/sms, while charging and even when kept idle.
I did factory reset a lot of time but no luck. It will happen in all the ROMs including stock rom. I even restored it to stock rom by kdz updater but still had no luck.
Any help regarding this?
Thanks

Have you tried to do an full restore or a full wipe? Flash another ROM maybe soves the problem. RAMDUMP, maybe is caused by an app. The app stays in the memory and don't get out. That's it.
wiped cache a lot of times

nik263, i went to service centre and they replaced some part and returned it tome. they took only an hour to replace the part. LG knows about the issue andd they are working on it. as a temp workaround they are changing that part. after they replaced the part drastically it came down. earlier i used to get it atleast 5 - 6 times a day now only once in a day i am getting it.
I get it very often. Unfortunately sometimes during phone calls. I can reproduce this issue whenever needed by switching on the radio while the music player is already running. BAD!!!

bud, goto service center and they will replace a part (didn't get a hint what they replaced) and will return it in couple of hours. after replacing it also am getting it but it is drastically reduced, now am getting may be once in a week or 10days. thats the only solution
But now my phone is rooted and have custom rom flashed. I was in an impression that they will not consider it for warranty. I do not have my original rom;s backup. How did u manage?

LG optimus P690 crash
Hi All,
Even I am getting that crash. I was trying to downlaod files via bluetooth yesterday, though the space in the SD was low.
It was a whole lot of memory, alteast larger than the space left in the SD.
When I took a look at it, it was sort of off.
Then I have to take the battery out and the I restarted it.
Even then it was getting off, just after I am getting the display screen.
This is happening since yesterday, and I have already switched off my phone for around 15 times.
I could see that there is less than 100 MB left on the SD card.
What I observe is that only if the SD card is getting loaded in the first few minutes, my phone is crashing. and if it is not loading I could work on it for some time.
Please figure this out and let me know
Thanks in advance,
Ravi
Having same problem here. IM getting ramdump more often when IM on stock ROM. Does this have anything to do with heap size

Is anyone having battery issues after the OTA to Lollipop?

Just trying to gauge everyone else, but for me battery performance has been horrible since the update. It'll lose 5-10% in a matter of an hour. No more apps are running than when I was on 4.4.4. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I haven't noticed any excessive battery drain during use, but I did notice this morning that the phone was not fully charged after I left it plugged in overnight.

Yes I was having the same issues as you. Phone was perfect before the update. Charged quick and discharged normally. After the ota to lollipop everything went down hill. Was not rooted or bl unlocked all stock. Took my phone to att tech repair store and was told that I was not the only one they have seen with this issue. They did try to flash the firmware in store but it failed 3 times. Tech told me that he believes there are still bugs in the firmware. They did a swap for new device but I did not allow them to update it. Think I'll just stay with 4.4.4...
Edit....
Mine however also took almost 5 hours just to charge from 20 percent to 25 percent. I cleared cache factory reset and still did nothing to fix the problem. I tried ruu but unfortunately my win7 pc would not recognize in fastboot. Always had prob with pc in fastboot . But like I said above it prob would not do anything since att could not flash with the flash tool they use...

My battery life has sucked since the update thanks to the GPS randomly turning itself on even though I've turned it off.
Here's the thread where I mention it, it was a 4.4.4 thread but various people have had issues with lollipop as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/help/gps-android-4-4-4-update-t3041001/page3
I also tweeted #ATTSucks to twitter and their ATTCares representative has responded although I really don't see how they can fix this.
https://twitter.com/ATTCares/status/586226543212552192
Mine is weird. When idling, discharge is fine. Recharging I'd fine as well. It's when I use the phone when it drops like crazy. Like right now. Unplugged the phone about 25 minutes ago and the phone is already at 96%.

Poor battery life confirmed...
I can confirm that my battery life has absolutely sucked since the update to Lollipop. It was bad enough that AT&T delayed the release of Lollipop for months, but now to finally have it and actually have a worse device than before, is really frustrating.
I have not changed any settings or installed any new apps since the update. I used to not have to worry about charging my phone until 10-11PM at night. But now, I often have to charge it between 5-6PM. Man, do I wish I could revert back to Kit Kat.
This battery issue is seriously making me consider rooting it so that I can install an older boot loader and revert back to stock Kit Kat.

[Q] Please HELP ME! Android Phone Problem.

Hi,
This is my first post so I do not know if it is in the right section.
I have an Android Phone (ZTE KIS V788 – Full spec: gsmarena.com /zte_kis_v788-4586.php)
It runs Android Gingerbread 2.3.6
It keeps turning off and restarts, it is basically not usable anymore.
What can I do to fix it?
And is there any way to update its software manually? (It has 256MB RAM, and 800MHz CPU)
Thanks!

Your issue is the device. No matter what you do to it, it will still act up. The issue is that the device doesn't even have enough ram to run the os properly. 256 mb of ram is just not gonna cut it.

I bet over the last month you have used it right? Meaning new apps, filling up database files in info? Phones like that are ok at best if left completely stock and maybe an app or two but they all sooner or later suffer the same thing. Mainly as they dont use an Official release version of android. Best advise I can give you is to keep it as clean stock as possible, Use cloud storage for pics and what not so you wont have them eating up space on the device.
You can get out of the soft bricked phase by try rebooting in fastboot menu. If that doesn't work you can try flashing the phones original files which will reset everything on your phone. Though, I recommend getting a new phone because, your still running gingerbread. That is an extremely old os as most newer devices are running lollipop and kitkat. If you don't plan on spending a lot of money on a phone, there are plenty of cheap phones out there. If you do manage to get out the bootloop than I wouldn't run any newer apps on it, as it will crash the phone.

I have always kept it stock, only installed Facebook and whatsapp.
This is a very weird issue, as the phone behaves normal when charging and does not randomly turn off.
I downloaded an app that checks the battery health, and it says that the battery is good.
I also noticed that when the phone turns off and I switch it back on then the battery is completely drained – for example I have it at 100% charge and after the random restart it shows only 9%.

To flash the phones original files, you will need to look up a video either on YouTube or find another website with informative directions. Basically, you will need fastboot files and roms/ img files to revert your phone. You will need a computer and usb cable for this. Go to YouTube and search how to fix a bootloop or how to fix a bricked/soft bricked phone. Best of luck.

Sounds like your battery is one of two things. 1. Its going bad. (Many reasons why the app is tell you its fine, Thats 2) 2. The battery is a fake and there is software that was changed to hide this. A common practice in some places in the world. The reason it is only now failing "could" be that it is starting to die but the software is still set to show you its good.
The fact that it works fine when it is plugged in would support those theories.
You could try reflashing the files as suggested, but do yourself a favor and DO NOT use some youtube video. At least not before reading up. The issue with youtube videos is that if something goes wrong then you are stuck even worse with no idea what to do. Then you will find yourself right back here.

TMobile Galaxy S5 G900T Boot Loop Issue after root.

So I recently had Marshmallow firmware version G900TUVU1GPE1_G900TTMB1GPE1_TMB installed and had gotten tired of the update service running and trying to download a firmware update, I used these directions here to root my phone and then install Titanium backup to turn off OTA updating services and ES file explorer to delete the update.zip file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...l/root-how-to-root-sm-g900t-firmware-t3358190
I recently started having an issue with the phone whenever I would use it with GPS enabled or off, it would reboot and get back to the unlock screen and then go into a reboot loop, which would only stop if the battery were pulled. This happens in Apps too such as Google Play or Facebook, or Accuweather. I figured I'd try to install the Stock KitKat version of G900TUVU1BNH5_G900TTMB1BNH5_TMB, well the reboot loop issue still exists. Is there anyway of resolving this issue as I am thinking of putting GPE1 back In and Redoing the root just to undo it. I know it is forbidden to check NAND Erase All or other firmware options in ODIN. I downloaded a partition/PIT file just i ncase I need it too. I'm pulling my hair out lol.
Thank you
Upate, After I reinstalled G900TUVU1GPE1_G900TTMB1GPE1_TMB, and did a normal system recovery (no TWRP in at this point) I had enabled WIFI and it went into a reboot loop, took the battery out, then I installed TWRP- went to advanced wipe, did not select System, Only Davlik, Internal, Cache. I have not installed SuperSU. I hope this resolves the issue, otherwise I might need a new phone or motherboard...

I have been pulling the battery, plus another oddity is when the phone goes into a loop and I can't get it to stop until after a bit, I can just plug the charger in and then It stops. Someone said the battery could be at fault. I bought a battery and waiting on it between the 14th and 16th, I will definitely follow up if that resolves my issue too.

My tab s3 keep restarting and freezing by itself

Hello everyone
I have Samsung Tab S3 since it's release in 2017 .. and it was a very nice tab till a couple months ago ..
It started restarting by itself .. and it happenes always when I'm not using it or when I'm pausing a video ..
And when I leave it for a couple hours i find out that it's turned off and it can't be turned on till I hard restart it ..
I tried :
Emptying the battery to the end then recharge and didn't work.
Removing SD card and didn't work.
Entering safe mode and still restarted.
Wipe cash partition didn't work.
Factory reset and didn't work.
And finally flash stock ROM with Odin without rooting .. problem not solved
When I put the tab on power saver the restarting takes so much longer to happen ..
Could it be a hardware related thing? Or a battery thing?
Thank you in advanced for your help
*Edit 1 (problem fixed) : I rooted my tablet and installed Kernel Auditor app and changed the governor to Userspace and set the minimum frequency of the CPU to 422 instead of 307 and made the app do the settings change on boot . After this it had not restarted for 3 days.
*Edit 2 lately I flashed lineageOS unofficial 18.1 android 11 into the tablet and edited the big clusters only to interval governor while keeping the small ones with blue schedule. My tablet now is working like a charm with no issue.
Has the battery SOT time noticeably decreased?
If below 80% of its original capacity it's time to replace it.
Any swelling is a battery failure, replace asap.
Changes in charging behavior could indicate a failure as well.
Has it been dropped or exposed to moisture? You see where this is going... mobos can also randomly fail.
Does it happen in safe mode?
Check it to rule out 3rd party apps.
Original rom, don't update the system apps, all power management should be disabled.
Pull SD card if it has one for now before reload.

*After the restarting it gets stuck and shuts down and you have to turn it on by (down+power), if you turn it on immediately you have the same battery percentage but if I let it through the night and force turning it on the battery is decreased alot, it looks like when the tab is off after the freezing and restarting it is consuming alot of battery even if it's off.
*I tried the safe mode it still restarts
*I went to the beach 6 months ago and it stopped charging because of the moisture for about a week then it got back to its normal state
*I noticed that When I boot into (downloading mode) or (recovery mode) it stays on for days and doesn't restart or freeze
If you got salt water in it, it's already dead.
Needs to be pulled apart and inspected for corrosion damage. Sorry...

You mean the motherboard or the battery is dead ?
If the mobo got salt water on it or even water in it can destroy it. Current flow greatly accelerates corrosion.
The tab needs be dissembled*, dried and inspected for damage especially where there's high current flow and exposed conductors.
Sooner is better...
*pull battery connector asap

Good evening. As the title says, my SM-T820 turns off randomly. I've changed the battery and installed several official firmwares with no luck so I don't know what else I could try, if anybody has any idea please tell me. Thank you so much Kind...

it will still work but the button will stop working .. after all you will get a 2017 tablet to work with Android 11 with an amazing speed and without all that bloatware that were slowing the device. And if you didn't like it you can go back to the stock rom whenever you want .

It worked has not crashed yet and I found that s-pen button thing annoying anyway so thanks again for the help
I sometimes find my S3 has shut down and requires a long press of the power button to boot up. I have not determined the cause. I wonder if just root will allow deleting enough bloatware to make a difference
