This really isn't ready for public consumption yet....hence me not creating a thread for it...

Let me rephrase this.
I can't get TB to gain root. Logcat works though.

Original oneclick root app

I need the original one click root app. It was taken off the market. The one you can root w/o PC. I had that on my 1st vibrant.
Any help please!!

Please use Google before posting threads like this.
Google will show you the xda thread where you can download the app. Also, if you're running any 2.2 Rom, the old root methods no longer work.

He wasn't asking for OCLF.

Z4root

I have used z4root and got root access. I wanted to know if I need to keep z4root installed or if I can remove it.

Once you gain root I'm sure you can delete it. And for future reference you may want to post questions in the general section to avoid getting flamed. Happy flashing :-D

Thanks I hope to hear some more responses, as I want to be 100% sure.
Yes you can delete it once you are rooted. I've used Z4root several times now and have removed the app every time.

You can delete it if you want but it isnt in the Market anymore. Google told those guys (also Ryans OCLF dont have the root part in it any longer) take them down.
But you can get the .apk HERE or HERE
I also found the update.zip root on the cyanogenmod wiki web site under vibrant. So if u ever need to reroot and can't find anything u can use that method.

That will only work with the 2e and modified 3e recovery, but not the real 3e. You will need the Super One Click root application for that.

can i root without having to flash a rom?

I get so confused when rooting and what not..so i thought I would come here before i screw something up. I just want to simply root my phone so that I can use wifi-tether and if I can avoid it.. I don't want to flash a rom or do anything else special besides rooting. Can I do this or do i have to flash a rom for the rooting process?
You don't need to root to use wifi-tether. Just download a tether toggle app from the play store. The toggle will bypass the subscription screen.
What he said. And yes you can root and stay stock. You'll then have root access if you ever decide to make any mods.

No. Once you're rooted, there are tools you can use to update ROMs without a computer, but you've got to at least have superuser access.
There's no way to gain that which doesn't require a computer.
I think he's on a rooted ROM already, hence why he's wanting to go back to stock rooted. Use mobile odin from the play store. There's many threads on how to use it, so search for one of those. I'd give you detailed instructions or link you to them, but I'm on my phone and not at home to get to the computer. Hope this helps

Busybox Won't Install

This is my second New LG G3 and Busybox fails to install.
On my first G3 the install worked. Does anyone have any suggestions?
5 years and I've never had a problem installing busybox before.

You must have root.
If you have that, sacs and Barren have it built in.
I installed stericsons busybox from the PlayStore and has no issues prior to unlock.

Of course I have root, that's a given.
I don't want to flash a Rom.
I've already used that busybox and it force closes.
I am using JRummy's Busybox installer but it fails to install.

OK. Get a root checker from the Playstore and make sure root is right. That's the only reason I can think of.
And again, just another check box, do you have SuperSU and not Superuser? That's the root that's recommended by Stump.

Busybox says I'm rooted. I have plenty of working root apps. SuperSU Pro installed and updated binary. xposed module installed and working. So I don't have a root problem.
Like I said I've been doing this for 5yrs so I know what I'm doing. It's a problem I've never encountered before and I can't find anything thru Google either.

No need to apologize. I wasn't offended.
I'm not looking for basic troubleshooting.
