I've just bought a G3 from simply electronics:
http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainproduct.php?pid=24183&sd=specs
I am in the UK and wanted to get a wireless charging stand but I'm not sure if the wireless charging works but of the box. It may be the handset is not the UK model and it clearly states wireless charging supported however I've seen some advice and that an adapter is required in some instances.
I fancy this model:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QI-Wirele...295056?hash=item5d50f69210:g:GeAAAOSwrklVdPGm
But this details an adapter is required, can anyone advise?
Thanks.
My first wireless charger was this type and I adise do not buy it.
Terrible cheap junk.

However, my next wireless charger was another cheapo, but works MUCH better, which is this one:

I bought this cheep round wireles charger to. But it IS NOT working well. Every few seconds it is discoonect and reconnect charging, and newer charge my battery to 100%. So don't buy this little rounded chargers.
Save yourself a load of ballache and just buy the official charge stand. I have it and it works flawlessly. I also bought a flat one like the one above, which is ok for the bedside table...
I have the official charge stand. It charges in more time than the conventional one and it isn't more practical. The time it takes to insert a charge pin in the phone is exactly the same as placing it on the stand.
For me, it was money wasted.
Many thanks for the good advice folks, much appreciated.
Yeah man original Stand Wireless Charger is awesome ! highly recommending
Does anyone know if the original wireless charger will work if the phone is equipped with a thick cover "Unicorn Beetle Pro" ?

I had the same experience. The flat ones in a post above are pretty good but the official LG one is excellent!
Well, the charging stand I bought from eBay didn't work, it was doing the disconnect/reconnect every few seconds that a few folks have noted seems to happen to the cheaper knock off wireless chargers, full refund from eBay and I've bought a LG one that works flawlessly. Lesson learnt.
The phone in my case (Unicorn Beetle Pro) is a little thicker, anyone knows whether the original wireless charger will fit and phone will not fall?

Difficult to tell, I read somewhere than up to 5mm thick case and it will still work, I bought a 3mm one and its fine

The original charger has quite a pronounced lip on it so you should be OK regarding the phone falling off but the thickness could affect transfer rate and alignment.
I've just done a little test padding mine out by about 10mm at the bottom and 5mm on the back and it still connects so I'd say worth a shot.
Other than original LG wireless charger. Is there an other charger that can be recommended?
I'm using the choetech t511 works consistently with no problem

Hello all,
I am looking at getting one of the Blackberry chargers:
http://www.amazon.com/Blackberry-Fo...laybook/dp/tech-data/B004OZMWUS/ref=de_a_smtd
The folding power blades would be nice in my luggage, and it is 1.5A so it could fast charge but does anyone know if it actually does or would I have to do surgery on it to make it fast charge my Note?
Thanks very much all!
I imagine it would work fine, but wouldnt the included charger mini "block" work just as well? I understand the folding prong part, but it's also rather tiny and is smaller to start...plus it wont cost you $20 to charge at the same rate.
Point taken, just hate prongs destroying my luggage.
I always the prong protectors I usually try to accumulate to shield them.
Anyone know if the Samsung Portable dock (the one with a flip lid and will charge an extra day battery will allow fast charge?
Thanks

I didn't know that the HP unit already had folding prongs, Heck, I am ordering a 2nd one cause as good as the one that just arrived (nice rubber surface, folding prongs and just a great weight/build quality) these things are a STEAL!
Thanks for the advice, right on the money!

Yes it dose. I have been using this since my purchase of the note. Charges nice and fast.
NFC Compatible UPDATE at Bottom
This QI receiver pad works much better than the first one I tested. It's ability to work with the LG WCP-700 is a huge perk. The pad looks wider, it fits better, works with more pads, works through most cases with no issues etc.
Out of the two I've used so far, this one is better in every way... So far...
By request... This is the auction I purchased it from.

EDIT (4/27/2014):
NFC Receiver UPDATE
Well I got really busy after I purchased a third receiver and didn't publish any information until now. Why did I purchase a third receiver? Well it was because of NFC. The second receiver is still the best with charging, but this one is a close second. I could not get NFC to work with the second receiver. This one will work through most cases.
eBay Link: I'm posting search results. Just match up the model with the one in the video. It's easier this way in case some of the auctions end.

OK, thanks for clarifying!
awesome video, I was looking at that receiver as well, have had good experience with that brand yipin or yieneng on m s4.
the biggest quest for me is does it bulge? the s4 there was a spot where the chips would fit in the notch for the microsd, but I dont see a notch on the note 3 so I wonder if they designed it to fit in some kind of recessed area?
Thanks in advance.
See the 3 pins where you connect the wireless receiver:
Top one is +5v.
Second one is Ground.
Thrid one is for S-View Cover (+) - (in case you wonder that the heck is that for)
In the event that you have a S-view Cover, you just have to use second as a common ground between the receiver and the S cover.

This receiver is pretty thin in everyway, as with all receiver, you will get the bulge, but you will not really notice it, would you rather have a receiver that has no bulge that does not work well or a receiver that has a slight bulge and does what you expect.
Can you still fit a case on with this installed? I have a hard case sedio with a kick stand and do not want to give it up.

getting the official one in a few days too and will review it when i get it. ordered a second official one from clove uk. my original order for the official one made in early october from mobilefun hit the wall from the scamsters at mobilefun. was repeatedly getting emails saying delivery delayed and whether i will accept alternate product (please note no mention of refund in any email), then a week or so ago saw on their website that it was in stock but still didnt get delivery and got another email saying further delays and saw on website that it was sold out!!!. so sent them email to send it or give refund after cancelling order. they replied with email saying order cancelled and that was nearly 2 weeks ago and yet to get refund. so have raised a claim at paypal and those scumbags havent yet responded to paypal claim and 8 days now since i have escalated this to a claim at paypal and mobilefun havent yet bothered to reply to my paypal claim. if dont get my refund will escalate it to fraud complaint with my credit card issuer against mobilefun. paid via credit card via paypal to mobilefun website in early october. just mentioning this here so that other people dont get scammed like i have been at mobilefun.

Thanks for your videos. I love wireless charging but on the note 3 it's been a bittersweet scenario...got the oem samsung charging back but there are no cases that fit that (at least that I've found) so I'm stuck choosing between a case and wireless at the moment. Your thread has given me some hope though about the possibility of using the original back with an insert that actually works and still be able to fit a case.
One question - does the phone with insert in & case on "rock" when it's on a flat surface? For example, when you have it flat on a desk/table/etc and you hit the home button on the note - does it "rock" toward you and then back after lifting your finger? This is so annoying to me and I wake the device with the home key a lot at work...it'd probably be a deal-breaker for me, but if you can share your insight I might avoid another bit of money wasted.
Thanks!
Let's talk about cases and wireless changing - what works and what doesn't:
For example
Works
Generic charging back and cheap gel case works with Tylt charger
Generic charging back and cheap gel case works with LG hockey puck charger
Otterbox defender works with the tylt vu and qi sticker
Nillkin bumper case works with the Tylt wireless charger
Slim Armor works with the Tylt Vu
Qi sticker chip with generic eBay hockey puck (Powerbot clone) and it charges with Seidio Surface
Qi sticker (from GB) on OEM backing with Quick Circle Case (without the built in inductive) works on both the Tylt Vu as well as the LG WCP-300 puck.
Ringke slim case and with the 3 Coil wireless pad+original LG USB cable+2A Samsung charger (links in post #21)
but
Doesn't work
slim armor DIDNT work with Nokia Dt910
Works partially
3rd party quick circle case with wireless charging I got off of Ebay and ordered the WCD-100. Although it worked I kept
getting the center phone correctly message every time I put it on.
Best Buy Insignia TPU case has some trouble with the Tylt Vu. Wireless charging notification pops up frequently
How about posting here what we know works - and what doesn't. I'll update here from your posts so please make my life easier and give me something that I can just cut and paste.

I apologize for not updating the first thread within microseconds of someone posting - sheesh.
In order to make this thread worthwhile, we really need more information on some of the more obscure combinations. Stickers, for example, can come from multiple vendors and each may be a different quality. I'd suggest adding a link for no-name products. I'll continue to update the first post every couple of days for a while until we have a good representation of products.

It was a joke. Calm down. And my comment about the Seidio was because you updated the original post with stuff that was posted after mine and thought you missed it.
As for the Qi sticker chips, there's only one source that makes them but obviously sold by many others.
Just got my official LG qi charger WCD-100. I really like it, it's stable, and charges quite fast for qi. I got it for a pretty good deal so I don't mind and this is my 3rd qi charger that i currently have and by far the best one. It's really nice because I can't place my phone on it the wrong way. You just put it on and you're done! No alignment bs like on my other ones.

For wireless charging how does this exactly work?
It works by induction. You need a special charging station (read: a square box that is resting on your nightstand from now on), where you can put your phone on. You don't have to fiddle with plugs.
The charging station works with a standard USB connection and for your phone you need the above mentioned back cover, with is a complete replacement for the existing backplate. The special back cover contains all the electronics and contact pins to connect with the phones battery.

Of course, they have to place the coil somewhere, it's just a sacrifice you have to make for having the convenience. Also most flexable rubber/silicone cases do work because they stretch (I just prefer to go without them for the sake of ruining the design of the phone).
It should be arriving here by end of week and I'll be sure to take a few pics for you guys.
FYI, I have purchased a wireless charging back for every single Samsung device I have ever owned so I have plenty of experience (S3, S4, Note 3, and currently S5)
I was running the wireless charging back on my LG G3 so I have some experience as well. That back only added 1 millimeter to the thickness...I measured it. Just better design. I have the alpha and I'm currently testing next to the iPhone 6. Liking both phones alot. Need to test battery life

The most disappointing thing about the wireless charging back cover, other than its extra thickness which makes it less flush, is on the standard cover, the SAMSUNG logo is shiny and embossed, giving the same effect as the metallic edging. On the wireless charging cover, its matte and flat like a cheap tacky plastic print. Not at all in-keeping with the quality of the rest of the phone.

Hmm this is quite strange, usually Samsung does not cheap out on those wireless charging back covers and try to make it as identical to original as possible (at least on all the models I've used them on). Perhaps they didn't spend as much into this one due to the lack of popularity/demand for this device. Still surprises me though, it should cost cheaper in that case as well.
@jerflash: Actually on the S5 the gain in thickness is almost not noticeable. My dad uses one and switched backcovers and you don't see it.
Inductive coils are super thin copperwires that need next to no room for themselves.
I bought one of these for my note 3 and even though it did give it some weight and thickness, the battery cover was thick enough that the camera lens would not come in contact when places on a flat surface which was nice.

That wireless charging cover looks super ugly and so doesn't fit the amazing design of the rest of the pone. Not sure what Samsung was thinking when making such a poor looking charging cover.

Could you please tell me whether the extra thickness of the cover makes it impossible to fit a case over it? I have in mind a flip case.
Samsung do not yet list a wireless charging back on their web site for the Galaxy Alpha. I wonder if this is a picture of the back for the bigger battery.
I got my official wireless charging back. Unfortunately, it does make the phone slightly thicker which means cases are not going to fit over it. I tried a cheap plastic soft case which I thought would stretch enough to fit but it didn't. So I had better not drop my phone.....
Otherwise, the wireless charging works fine with a Nokia DT desktop charger.
What the best wireless battery cover for my note 3, need to use the new option in 05 camry.
Thanks
You can find the Samsung OEM wireless charging battery cover on fleaBay for around $15.
I notice that there are also Mugen "wireless ready" covers that fit their extended batteries for $20. Kind'a cool if you don't want to ever be concerned about how much charge you have - and don't mind a fatter phone.
I'm pretty sure that neither the OEM not the mugen will work with any of the "standard" cases.

I just got a 2015 Camry Hybrid and I wanted to use the wireless charging. I almost purchased from the above mentioned site but I trust newegg more and luckily they were just as cheap. newegg .com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1U422W1781&cm_re=note_3_wireless_charging-_-75-990-867-_-Product Just in case you haven't gotten it yet or others are interested.

i am using the amazon cheotec coil with the stock cover in my note 3. works though an otterbox defender
anyone know if I get a Samsung oem wireless charge back cover if it fits into a otter case and if it will charge through the otter case?
thaks
I don't know about an otterbox, but mine will charge through a UAG case when positioned correctly (edit: aftermarket coil in stock battery cover).
I got the wireless charging cover for $15 shipped on ebay, from a US seller. Came in retail packaging.

No it doesn't, won't fit in the inner clam shell. I use a Qi coil that lays on your battery from amazon for $10, works great with otterbox defender case on.

Doesn't it take forever to charge?I may buy one if not
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
I got one of these instead, and just use the original batter cover that came with the phone.

It works through a thing TPU/gel case, which is my preferred type.
I use this one with stock back and with S View cover (fully functional), and there is a slight bulge but not bad. With the stock back, no issues in any of my cases.

The retail Samsung wireless charging back consistently gets 25-30ma more when charging. Not really enough to make a difference. Wireless charging takes ~3x as long as using the stock Samsung adapter and USB 3.0 cable IME. I swap batteries when I need to be fully charged. I use wireless just because it is so convenient to set my phone down on a qi dock at my desk or my nightstand.

CZ Eddie, yup, kickstand4u kickstands are back in stock - yours was shipped today! Thank you for your order and support!
FYI, I have a Sprint LG G3 (rooted) and a LG G4 (stock) both with wireless charging backs with a kickstand installed and a 3 coil TYLT charging stand - they both work fine, but it seems that the LG G4 is not as finicky in placement on the stand for a good wireless connection.
I bought the sview wireless charging cover approx 1 year ago via amazon, around £35. Highly recommended, works beautifully. You wont regret paying the extra cash.
