My Samsung Gear S is stuck! I had to reset it and it is now stuck saying Waiting for the Samsung Gear Application setup...
Anyone have any ideas? I have performed a reset, and a factory reset, to no avail.

I recently updated my ROM from EchoeRom 4.4.2 to EchoeRom 5.0 on my Galaxy Note 3, and everything works flawlessly, except the connection to my Gear S.
When I try to connect, I get a message that I have to reset my Gear S to factory settings before I can connect. (See attached image)
Is it supposed to do this, or is there a way that I don't have to reset my Gear S to connect?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, you have to factory reset it. If you backed up your gear data (S health and such) it will restore your data on gear after a reset.
Okay so I too have been plagued with the flickering homescreen after the gear manager update, I don't mind factory odin installing a whole new rom over again, my only problem I see is IDK how to reset gear manager so I can install app's that were once previously installed prior to odin flashing the watch.
Is there a way to fix this or would I lose connection with the watch and factory reset it completely and have to resync it again through gear manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Remove all the gear stuff on your phone and reinstall gear manager. Than when you did that it will ask you to connect with your gear and it will ask you to reset your gear by pressing the ok button.

I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 unrooted with a Samsung Neo smart watch. I used for 2 years but the other day I stopped receiving texts on my watch. Confused I rebooted watch, didn't help. I uninstalled a few things related to Samsung Gear on my phone and tried to reinstall but got the Installation Error -24 message. I'm not good with technology, but found the only ways to correct this to get the gear software loaded back on my phone is a factory reset, which is my worst nitemare or Root the phone, which I'm NOT comfortable with and try to find the offending file. Am I correct? This would mean buying a new phone to me if I was unable to find local help . Any ideas or real leads is greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know what this error code is? And or if the watch and phone are compatible? I really love my watch, and would hate to part with it. I've installed, uninstalled, reset, cleared and everything. My phone sees the watch, resets the watch, then after the factory reset, error code 5
I was getting that on my Note-5, but only after flashing a custom ROM.......................went back to a stock version of the ROM and Gear Manager working again.........it was something with the ROM.

I have a new S9+ (SM-G965F/DS), when I first power up the phone, there are many samsung apps inside such as samsung pay, browser, email.
After I did a factory reset in setting menu and restart the phone, I found that some samsung apps mentioned above were missing, need to download and install, what happened for this?
why factory reset would delete official apps?

After a factory reset, during the device setup it asks you if you want to install those items. If you skipped over it or unchecked them, they will not be installed and you will have to install them manually...
