Samsung Galaxy A700FD
Why TWRP ? Why not some rooted firmware which keeps warranty safe ?
TWRP is a custom recovery. It has many more functionality than stock recovery! if something goes wrong while flashing something you can always make a backup use this recovery which can be restored when things get messed. if mess is of large extend you can always flash stock firmware.
Why new TWRP Recovery ?
The older version which was released will not be compatible with cm structure due to mount points and hence this recovery will be supportable for all custom flashing.
Instructions
Follow the instructions carefully.

@ItsAnilSingh
I followed the steps and flashed TWRP(your link is not working so I googled it) with Odin, two times but every time I try to get to recovery it gets to stock recovery, tried with two methods - hard buttons and with adb reboot recovery command, but only stock recovery shows up.
Can anybody please help?
I have the same problem with 5.0.1 - I9505XXUHPK2_I9505YXZHPL1_I9505XXUHPK2_HOME.tar.md5 and twrp-3.2.0-0-jfltexx.img.tar (S4 I9505). Can not get to recovery (freez) and after I just run android I an anter there again, but it is standard android recovery and can not put SuperSu :/
Ok. I needed to use one version older (also with older odin, but i think not odin but version 3.2.0 was a problem)
Yeahh that is not working....it stil reboot in to stock recovery

Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP), is an open-source software custom recovery image for Android-based devices. It provides a touchscreen-enabled interface which allows users to install third-party firmware and backup the current system, which are often unsupported by stock recovery images.
Screenshots
Under screenshots tab
Installation
Pick your build type, i.e recovery flashable or Odin flashable.
If recovery flashable, simply put the zip in phone, and flash it from an existing working recovery.
If Odin flashable, go to download mode, connect to PC, run Odin, select 'PDA', select the twrp tar.md5, flash it.
Enjoy.
Walkthrough
Since our device resolution is low, TWRP does not fit into the screen, hence there is a button with arrow key (left/right), which indicates that there is another section of the page, pressing that button takes you to the other section.

Fetures And Notes !
Fetures
You can now backup your EFS partition !
Full Selinux support !
Compressed using LZMA to fit our device space !
Notes
-You will not be able to unpack this recovery image to take kernel image or modify ramdisk as the ramdisk is compressed using LZMA not GZIP to fit the device recovery partition ! - You will only get kernel Image if you used boot-repacker for windows - .
-If you are going to build a recovery using device tree provided in this thread you'd better use the prebuilt kernel provided with the tree !

1) Go to Settings » About phone » and tap “Build number” seven times to enable “Developer options”.
2) Go back to the main Settings page, scroll to bottom and select“Developer options” from there.
3) Under Developer options, look for “Enable OEM unlock” checkbox/toggle and make sure you check it or turn it ON. If the checkbox does not exist, you can skip this step.

5) Switch off your device.
6) Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.

Once your device is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin will automatically detect the device and show an “Added!!” message. If not your device is not connected properly.
7) Now click on the AP tab on Odin window and select the TWRP recovery .tar file that you downloaded for your device.
8) Uncheck auto reboot in the options tab.
9) Click the Start button on Odin to start flashing and wait for it to finish the process.
Once it finished successfully, a pass message on the Odin screen will pop up.
Now you can disconnect your device. Reboot the device by pressing volume down + power + home.
When the screen goes black, press volume up, power and home to get into TWRP recovery.
Done! TWRP is now installed on your device.

Hello!
I'm trying to upgrade TWRP on my SM-T550, from 3.6.2_9-0 to the (current) latest 3.7.0_9-0 (from https://eu.dl.twrp.me/gt510wifi/).
However, when trying to flash twrp-3.7.0_9-0-gt510wifi.img from TWRP, I get the following error message:

Am I doing something wrong?
FWIW, this tablet is running LineageOS 19.1 from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-for-galaxy-tab-a-sm-t550-dec-9-2022.4479347/

There's a reason my FAQ states that you MUST use a certain version of TWRP when using my roms/builds. More details already written at
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...or-sm-t810-dec-12-2022.4430349/#post-86745013
Again, even though it's on the official TWRP site doesn't mean it's been tested or code is maintained and kept up to date.
As newer version of TWRP add more functionality and get more code bloat, the recovery size will get bigger and may not fit the recovery partition. There are ways to minimise the rom size, but the maintainer has to make those changes, test and submit them to TWRP github.
Thanks @retiredtab for explaining why it is necessary to stick with your recommended TWRP version, and not the latest official one.

@ maintainer (virsys??)
- would you be so kindly and update the recovery according to this:
[CLOSED][RECOVERY] [TWRP] Fix • Backup Internal Storage • backup option
O B S O L E T E Fix for • Backup Internal Storage • backup option Universal TWRP Bind Mount Enabler It is a well known fact that TWRP Backup does did not include Internal Storage aka /storage/emulated/0 If you ever wonder how to backup...
forum.xda-developers.com
- shrink your recovery as described from retiredtab to make it working with his custom-rom
Thanks.
official TWRP releases are auto-generated even if maintainer is absent. (actually you can patch your fstab yourself in 5 minutes, just unpack twrp.img, add the line /storage... repack and flash. it's so simple it's not even worth a guide.)
as for the file size.. well IMHO this a big failure not including some file size check according to partition size. reminds me on the days of clockworkmod recovery. should be fixed in build bot ASAP, consequently not releasing new versions without maintenance.

wait... file size is 15 MB so this can't be true? partition should have at least 32/64 MB nowadays.

I think so. I am not sure.
I am using LOS 18 unoffical from retiredtab.
When I installed this image the first time, I set the tick at "install LOS-Recovery".
This was a mistake. So I installed TWRP 3.6 from this thread.
Is it possible to change partition sizes without flashing any Partition? How?
do you have the same warning?

Hi! I have a question, I have a Samsung tablet with the model SM-P555M, can this recovery work without problems? I want to install the official Samsung ROM that comes with Android Nougat
Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or TWRP3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

Let’s start with the installation process
First you need to unlock your bootloader. You can do so by enabling developer settings first, enable oem unlocking, then shut down your phone, hold volume up and down at the same time and while holding them plugin your charger. Your phone now should show a green screen with instructions to unlock the bootloader. Just follow them and after the unlocking your data should get wiped. After that your device will boot up and land in setup screen. Do not setup anything, just skip as much as possible, because your phone will get wiped again. Enable developer settings and make sure oem unlocking is greyed out and enabled. (If it does not show up, connect to a network first!)
Now you need to overwrite vbmeta partition, so you can flash third party partitions. Download vbmeta_disabled.tar then go into download mode on your device. Put vbmeta_disabled.tar to userdata in Odin, click start. This should finish pretty quickly, so pay attention when your device reboots, because you need to boot into recovery (Hold power and volume up after the screen turns black). When booted into recovery, wipe your data and reboot normally into system. Now you can setup your phone as usual and make sure oem unlocking is still greyed out and enabled!
Time to flash recovery. Download (link is at the end of this post). . In Odin put the tar file in AP and simply hit start. Congrats you now have TWRP installed!

I followed your steps to no avail. First try, twrp didn't even boot up completely as it was stuck in the twrp logo screen. My second attempt was wiping data first using the stock recovery, then flashing twrp. Twrp booted up and I was happy as heck, but the touchscreen was unresponsive. I've completely set up my phone again after giving up. I wouldn't mind losing all my data again just to gain root, but I don't want to lose it for nothing
Now it just doesn't load further than the logo! !(

Is anything working? Decryption? Back-up? Restore?
I have saw the a70 page and it included many custom roms. Is it easy to port it over to the a80? I really want lineage os on my phone. Thanks
(I have an SM-A8050)
@blackbuga ; how about detail explaining about sg7 firmware how can we get it? what about give us step by step way of unlocking until flash twrp within provided link donwload files we needed, & last could u gv us stock recovery img for emergency used while we faced some trouble like bootloop or something else we dont expected. so we dont needed to flash whole firmware stock & make us felt safety & shortcut the time of we got trouble. thx for great works
Hello blackbuga,
I recently installed your unofficial TWRP-build for the A80.
I want to let you know that it is impossible to flash ROMs successfully. I am a TouchWiz developer since 2016 and I wanted to continue with OneUI.
So, I was porting the A71 firmware, but it didn't let me install the zip. It ended with the Error 7.
Here's a part of the log:
" -- Setting ROM Permissions
ApplyParsedPerms: removexattr of /system/system/usr/srec/en-US/wordlist.syms to 0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint
ApplyParsedPerms: removexattr of /system/system/usr/srec/en-US/wordlist.syms to 0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint
script aborted: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7 "
It seems like it's a problem of the recovery. I hope to get an answer from you.
Greetings
Soon i realase new build recovery
Im waiting samsung realase new source s4 or u4

TUTORIALS
FLASH STOCK ROM , TWRP , ROOT & XPOSED
Note :- *Before starting backup all your data to an external storage
*Your warranty would be void after rooting
*Do some research on risks of rooting such as "Bootloops" and "Bricking" (a bricked phone is completely unusable)
_____________________________________________
1.Download and install Samsung USB Drivers
2.Download Odin and extract (no installation is needed)
_____________________________________________
3.Download latest Firmware and extract it once
4.Run Odin (make sure the only checked Options are "Auto reboot" and "F.Reset Time" make sure "RE-Partition" is not checked
5.Now click on AP and pick your Firmware file (in .tar.md5 format)
6.First Enable Developer Options (go to Settings > About phone> tap 7 times on build number) Then enable "OEM Unlock" and "USB debugging"
7.Now reboot to Odin/Download mode turning off your device and holding VOLUME DOWN + HOME + POWER button simultaneously until you see a disclaimer on the screen then press Volume Up to continue
8.Connect USB cable to the phone , text "Added" should appears in Message box in Odin , click Start and wait to complete , when it shows "Pass" you can disconnect the cable , wait for autoreboot (of the device) and you are done!
_____________________________________________
Note :- *Before flashing Custom recovery you must remove your google account(by going into settings>accounts) to turn off FRP lock
*It is better to have a Factory reset (rather than removing google account) to have a clean start
_____________________________________________
9.Download latest TWRP (.tar) , again reboot to odin/download mode and flash it using the same AP button in Odin but remember to untick auto reboot and make sure repartition is not checked
10.After flashing don't do a normal reboot , After the flash has succeeded disconnect the usb cable, then power down the phone by holding the power button for 10 sec , once it's powered off use the VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER button combo to boot directly into recovery. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP
(If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install)
_____________________________________________
Note:- After having a custom recovery flashed when you sign in your google account and the next time you boot into recovery (or sometimes a normal boot) you will get a message "custom binary blocked by FRP lock" and your phone will not boot after this and you have to flash the firmware again to get out of this
So, before adding your google account you have to flash a zip called "FRP Destroyer" (by Zillinium) which completely removes the FRP partition
Hence, you can have a custom recovery and google account added at the same time
_____________________________________________
11.Get Magisk Manager APK and Magisk zip file
12.Boot into recovery (TWRP) and install the zip file then wipe cache/dalvic and then reboot your phone
13.The Magisk framework is now installed on your device. To manage it, you’ll need Magisk Manager App
_____________________________________________
Note :- Make a NANDroid backup in TWRP (allows you to restore your phone to the exact condition at backup)
So if anything goes wrong with further modding, you'll be able to restore all of your apps and settings to working order in no time
_____________________________________________
14.Install Xposed installer app like you normally would
15.Flash "xposed.zip" file through TWRP.
Reboot and Wait, it may take several minutes to boot up depending on your Rom size.

Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
A lot.
