TEAM WIN RECOVERY PROJECT for M7
Description
TWRP is an open source, community project. TWRP development is done by roughly 4 people at this point. We also have a large support community with many people who are willing to answer questions and help people with their devices either through our IRC channel or on forums like xda-developers.
Team Win was originally formed to work on porting WiMAX to CM7 for the HTC EVO 4G. After our work on the EVO 4G we wanted to work on a project that would work on more devices than just the EVO 4G and we settled on working on a recovery. Today TWRP is the leading custom recovery for Android phones.
A custom recovery is used for installing custom software on your device. This custom software can include smaller modifications like rooting your device or even replacing the firmware of the device with a completely custom “ROM” like OmniROM
You can find the source code for TWRP at github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/

No, because it's prohibited and also bad for the community. Will send you pm with the IMG.
Everything is working fine, thanks!

Uses some new optimizations + determines which version of phone you are using based on mid i think
Sent from my One using XDA Forums
There is a new version 2.8.7.5 with a new nice UI to check out :>
Just checked the forums and official twrp 3.0 is up and downloadable for the m7
Not that anything is wrong with mdmower's version, as I use his as well. But in case anyone is wondering where the actual 'official' version is it's on their official site:

He's the official maintainer for m7 so most likely same recovery unless he added something different in his version
TWRP 3 works fine if anybody was wondering.
There is no different with official or unofficial recovery.
Both version also maintenance by mdmower.
TWRP issues
I have a strange issue. My phone refuses to boot into all recovery versions, with the exception of 2.7.1.0 or 2.7.1.2. After flashing any other versions, the phone gets to "Entering Recovery", stalls there for about 10 seconds, then reboots back into the ROM I am running. Anyone else experience this issue?

I think it's time for a new phone. This one is giving me fits. I can't get either of my computers to see the phone while in Fastboot USB mode. I can boot into recovery and run the adb devices command and it picks up the device. When I run while in fastboot, no devices show up. Windows picks up the phone when the phone boots into the OS.
I just flashed TWRP 3.0 on my HTC One M7 via ADB. After flashing and loading recovery the phone rebooted and my whole apps/data was deleted.
I was running ARHD 93.0 and ElementalX 21.0. My previous TWRP version was 26.3.3. How did that happen? And can I just restore my Nandroid I made before?

Does anyone know what the new TWRP specs are? I didn't see a changelog on their website. 2.4.0.0 was recently released and 2.4.1.0 was released today. The website, http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/131 , states that off mode charging is broken, but in the viper thread users are saying that its fixed. Does anyone have any clarification? regardless, i now have 2.4.1.0 on my hox+. tia

It is a good idea to do a backup but you should simply be able to flash on top of the old one. That is what I did and I didn't have any problems!
You should be fine installing over the old recovery. I installed over it using the all in one utility and it worked perfectly
Slithered from my Venom One X+
I can't see the files and folders on my HOX+ with new TWRP, old one worked fine. I can only see the TWRP folder on /SDCARD but not the other folders and no files
What could be wrong?
EDIT: I re-downloaded and re-installed it, problem solved. :good:
Well, I saw that this device doesn't have official support so it does now. You can get the official at the link below. And even though touch recovery option is available it doesn't work.

There isn't much details. It is the official ClockWorkMod recovery. I got touch recovery working so it will be coming soon. I also got TWRP working so that will be coming in a few mins also.
so there are recovery and kernels fit just for honeycomb or anything else?
the reason i ask is that show_p1984 is working on JB version for the Jetstream...

Where were you yesterday when I had to fish through dead links to find this!!
Thanks!! :victory:
Alternatively, the latest version can also be found at the 'Clockworkmod' rom manager page.
To install this version you need a terminal emulator program and SU access.
Code:
sudo su
[I]<grant access if asked>[/I]
dd if=[I]<path to>[/I]/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p22
NOTE: Be careful about the part after 'of='. Any typo can cause you to wipe out or permanently brick your phone.
I have an even newer version of cwm in one of my Rom threads. I believe it's cwm 6.0.4.5. Also have twrp 2.7.0.0 in my thread you'll find it in the android development section. They are both flashable zips.

Hi all, I really wish I had been able to build this myself but alas, I don't have anyone to spoon feed me the knowledge to get me through a full build. Luckily I was able to find a talented group of people who were able to build the newest TWRP for us from scratch using my Stock Idol 4- 6055U Recovery. So credits for this new build go to TWRP Builder Team for putting this together and I guess credits to me for taking the time to hunt down some dang support for our phone, lol. Anyways, here it is, and please enjoy.
If you enjoy or are thankful for this or anything else that I've done, please hit the thanks button

There are no "Custom" roms out yet for this phone. If I had the knowhow, i'd be on it. All that's available are 2 roms based on stock. There is shinjitsu rom based on the 6077K model and there is cricketrom built from the 6055U model. Shinjitsu rom was a good start but hasn't been updated since it was released. Cricketrom is updated as needed when I can find the time. I plan to add languages back since that is the number one question I've had and show box will be updated. PLanned release in the next couple days as long as I don't have issues figuring out what files i removed that were languages.
Does DATA partition decrypt for anyone? Even can't mount usb otg. Flashed over TWRP APP. Seem to be non operational...
you have to start over with the stock rom and install newest TWRP. That seems to be an issue sometimes and I'm not sure why. My fiances phone did that but not mine. I reflashed hers with stock and started over and when I flashed TWRP all was fine again.
The long wait has come to an end.
This TWRP was built for P580, I cannot ensure that it works on other variants, but it should work on P585, please test it and tell me.
Your warranty is now void and all that..
This TWRP is only compatible with oreo, due to some mess Sammy did with the bootloader, it works flawlessly on oreo roms, stock and custom!
Proofie
Enough talking, here is the DL link: https://mega.nz/#!MJFlyQ7L!AcEEkbvw7aGMGLnAU8OPEVxiBhfFjThHNTvqx8CMbxQ
Use odin, put this tar file in AP, flash and you're good to go [If you're on stock rom, don't let the device boot to system as it will kill TWRP, overwriting it with stock recovery]
Remember:
You won't have access to data if it is encrypted, you'll have to format data, on the wipe menu, at the side of "Advanced Wipe" there is "Format Data"
If you plan on using the stock rom, remember to disable DM-verity
Btw, if you plan to stay on stock rom, but you broke knox and want secure folder back, try this https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-smali-patcher-0-7-t3680053
Please come back and tell us if it worked! (I didn't make it to work on my debloated rom)
Thanks @marky_p for writing instructions on how to install
What is working:
Everything except samsung encryption, and any <8.1 rom
Built with P580KXU1CRJ7 source, on minimal manifest twrp, android-8.1.

Now please powerful devs, bring lineage 17 to us, please!!!

I love you ? I will test it asap on the P580!
Dang, the touch bug ist still there
Thanks very much for your work. I'll test it on my P585Y. Hope you can port android 9/10 oneui rom and lineageOs for these devices too.
I've tested twrp on my Tab A P585Y. It worked but sometimes touch is laggy and cannot do swipe action. Thanks very much for your work. Hope the next version better
Installed it on my P580 has all touch problems That plagued all the other TWRPs for this tablet. So I guess I wrong about The fact all the other versions were based off of the android Marshmallow source code as being the cause of that. That set aside it seems to work great with Oreo!!! Greatjob!!!

Thanks a lot
i tried flashing first time round on P585y
Twrp - worked fine - bit buggy/laggy on the swipe
flashed No Verity Opt Encrypt 6.1
then got stuck in this endless loop of booting - wouldnt even get to the samsung screen (still have access to download mode and recovery mode usning the associated button combination)
so i re-flashed stock firmware
re-flashed twrp
flashed supersu
again got stuck in the same endless boot loop......
any help how can i solve this?
Tried again tonight after flashing firmware ,
exact steps
Developer Options unlock Oem and allow USB Debbugging
reboot download mode
install SuperSU using ZIP (actually RAR file... would this make difference?)
went back to TWRP home menu
Reboot System.... STUCK in BOOT LOOP (doesnt even get to Samsung section - only gets to "Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 with S PEN powered by Android Page")
have waited 7 minutes now - still suck...
am i doing something wrong? is it because im using a P585y (lTE model)
i have noticed some unable to mount /data errors at times.
do i need wipe? clear cache/davlik? if so when in the process.
@unknowwiiplayer

I left instructions on my github sources, you can give it a try on building your own TWRP, as I don't have your device, I cannot ensure that if I biuld it will work, but it should tho
