Root - Boost Moto E 2015 LTE Stock 5.0.2 and 5.1 Soak test ROMs
I am a part of the soak test but this update has no debugging apps and it seems to be the official 5.1 update. I was able to remove root and install it Please grab me a twrp backup. I only need the system.ext4.win and boot.emmc.win files :)
androidforums.com
here is one download zip
then flash it in twrp

Find a 4.4.4 factory image and flash it with mfastboot, I guess........But don't flash 4.4.2 factory image and update to 4.4.4 OTA........U'll brick the phone......

downgrade
i downgraded my moto g successfully from lollipop to kitkat....
i think same method will work for moto e...
just don't flash these three lines in fastboot mode(i think u all know the stock firmware flashing procedure via fastboot)......otherwise bootloader downgrading will fail and u will brick ur device...
"mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
mfastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
mfastboot flash logo logo.bin"
flash all the other lines...and you will successfully downgrade to kitkat...
i can provide a batch file for flashing stock firmware...(u just have to double click on that file after putting it in the same folder u extracted firmware and mfastboot)
So were you able to lock the bootloader also?

okay
Downgrade
as lollipop update patched some files in it's OTA update such as: " gpt.img , motoboot.img , boot.img " downgrade might not be a use for these files and it's impossile also.. so u can flash 4.4.4 firmware files the old procedure via - M-Fastboot.. " Tested By Me.. No Brick At All "
U can back up lollipop and kitkat by cwm i m using 5.0 and 4.4 both..
so here is a bat file to flash..
Link :- https://www.dropbox.com/s/xap6ztt7sxbeq0n/Downgrade.bat?dl=0
I have tested on my room mate`s device....

there is no 5.0.2 factory image for moto e.
there is 5.0.2 soak test update only.
I've rooted it and flashed xposed. Also I've deleted many system apks and modified some system files. So no other way to go back to stock?

this might be a Question most Moto E users will have when they want to flash a new ROM.
i want to flash cm14/lineage OS. i want to know that can i directly flash the new ROM using TWRP? will it brick my phone?
i have a rooted Moto E xt1022 with stock ROM 4.4.4 with unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed.

so can i flash my stock 4.4.4 android to fully unroot, and then update to 5.1 lollipop with the OTA, and then root and directly flash the lineage rom? i heard that one needs to update to lollipop to update one's bootloader...
that would be the correct and safe process right?

Well for starters and device specific https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e/general/warning-downgrading-information-moto-e-t3062859
But there can be other reasons like flashing unstable, wrong roms recoveries kernels scripts etc..
i flash lineageOS and CrDroid from kk and nothing happened

Do you mean we can't downgrade the ROMs, 7.1 to 5.0 directly, so do we have to go 7.1 to 7.0 to 6.0 and then 5.1 and then 5.0?
No we can downgrade directly. But be careful, we shouldn't go to 4.4.2 we can go to lollipop or 4.4.4. I have tried it myself and went back to lineage too
