M4 aqua and calling card pal - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

I've now the second phone where the application "calling card pal" isn't working. I'm using this app for very cheap international calls. Was working perfect with different Samsung phones, but with my new M4...no chance. Can some one with the same phone check if this problem is with the phone or maybe with just my combination of apps. Thanks

Anyone found a working Dual Sim Adapter for Touch HD?

Has anyone managed to get a working dual sim adapter for the HD? I've tried MagicSim 20th edition from ebay which works but causes the HD to go into bootloader mode after a reset.
Thanks

From what I have seen, once you install the adapter, the phone adds a menu item in the programs section of the HD. From there you can select what card to turn on. You give it a couple of seconds to find reception and then you're good to go.
As far as I know (and I'm just a newbie at it)......
No, you cannot use both cards simultaneously. So, if card 1 is selected to be in use, then the phone will act as if card 2 did not exist. That means you cannot receive calls made to that number or text messages etc. If you then want to call using card 2, you have to switch to it, which then means that card 1 would be totally turned off.

So you actually tried this one and it worked?
How do you fit the extra card under the back cover of the phone?
I am debating on which adapter to get. I'm scared to mess up my sim card by cutting it. Maybe I'll order the special pliers to cut it - rather than using scissors. No cutting card would be better, but I thought the non cutted adapters would not fit or work with the HD.
I see that MobileBrando has a dual sim card that has AutoSwitch.

Do you think it really true? "both sims online at the same time"... is it possible?
is any one tried it with the HD?

As I understand it, you cannot have both sims online at the same time with the HD, because your phone would need two receivers/transmitters for that.
So I seriously doubt that the above claim is true.
There are phones though, like the Samsung D880, that can use two sim cards simultaneously.
I don't see where that link says that both sim cards would be active simultaneously. I believe the auto-switch function just means that you can set a time when the phone should switch to another card. For example if you get off work at 5 pm, it can automatically switch to your personal sim at that time (and switch off your business sim). In the link it even says that the display shows you which number is online. I assume that means both are not online at the same time.
And as K_Hismoom said, you would still need a phone with the capability of having two numbers active simultaneoulsy. Most phones do not have that ability.

I am not going to search for new phone now...LOL
However can bouled1 sim card make autoswitch every minute? and select which number to use on outgoing calls manually?
this is the only way I can see that it will work effectively for me:
1. You are offline with each phone no more than 1 minute.
2. I can use my work number to make outgoing calls when I want (thus saving money)
does this make sense?
bouled1 - can you upload pictures of the dual sim card inserted and the interface of the number selection? thanks in advance
I've tried this one :

It does not work on the HD and even tried it on my KJAM and still no luck.
Worked perfectly on my ols nokia (3G USim)
Does anybody tried and succeed a Non-Cut dual sim adaptor that works with the HD and USIM?
I'm desperate....
guys guys, these won't work with touch HD, or any of the windows mobile phones, I believe. if i'm wrong, please correct me, i'd like to learn something new. the reason being, is that in order for these cards to "automatically insert a new menu item" into the menu, the card needs access to the windows API. i doubt these little cards have that much memory on board (or left) to hold these codes for API calls.
they were designed to insert menus into dumbphones, regular phones, because those phones uses java as their "operating system", much simpler and leaner/smaller code.

I think you're wrong, but I am only basing it on the following:
This website a couple of weeks ago said their card worked on the touch hd, but I just checked and they changed it to "still testing it". See here.
This is their list to check compatibility of their various dual-card adapters with your phone. And on this page they say their adapters are indeed compatible with the touch diamond. They even have video showing how it works on the touch diamond. See video here. Tutorial videos of them using their dual sim card adapter on other phones here.
So, it seems that it can indeed be done on these phones.

ahh i see. technology sure advances in a short period of time. i would be interested in seeing how it works. thanks!
Is there any news regarding this subject?
I need an adapter like this to allow me to put 1 data sim and 1 normal sim into my HD.... St*pid Italian mobile carriers do not offer any good contract with decent 3G Web flat and Voice on the same number.

I just checked the links above in my post. It looks like the Company is now done testing their adapter on the Touch HD and they say it is compatible. A few weeks ago, the page just said "testing in progress".
See this link. Their prices start at 40 Euros and shipping is free to all destinations. They are the only ones that I have seen make a video of their product working on the touch diamond. So, I feel pretty confident, that it will work on the HD. Of course you can buy those adapters as cheap as 6 Euros, but I wouldn't count on those working.
Only can works on 2G platform not on 3G platform and not data support. The video on youtube for htc diamond show that.
Check out this one:
http://www.2-phones-in-1.com/en
This was tested by a user of a German forum and worked on the Touch HD even with 3G UMTS...
If you can speak a little German, you can read it here, otherwise, Google Translator is your friend

I've contacted them, to see if they know if it's compatible or not, and also if it works on 3G/H
Hi,
I tried the card you pointing at but it ended up for me with two smaller simcards because you need to cut them.
No joy, when inserted in the device it doesn't recognize.
It was worth a try, pitty it doesn't work.

[Q] Dual sim card adaptor?

I have seen a few dual sim card adaptors that sellers are claiming work with the Mini Pro. Has anybody tried them or have any thoughts/advice regarding them?
I don't expect they will be dual standby (both working simultaneously) but I am still interested to do this rather than carrying 2 phones around.
Link 1
Link 2
If it worked it would be great. Does anyone know if it works? Maybe booth could work together with some app... I don't know, when it comes to Cellphones I'm a total Noob..
Waiting answers..
I have a double sim (one sim with 2 number) from vodafone, wich is basicaly the same as a dual sim adapter.
It works as it should.. the only bugger is that every time you change the active sim, it forces you to re.login to your google account.

How do you change between the two numbers? Did it cost you extra to get this from Vodafone?
The double sim is a product from vodafone.. About 15euro once for it. You give them your numbers and in 1- 2 days you get the new card.
To change betwen numbers you have several options. Either the sim menu and select the numer you want.. Boot the phone and and use he pin you want.(each number has a pin) or dial 0 or 00 to reboot the sim. The phone asks for the pin

Anyone using these adaptors? I need to order one for my phone.
I have a Vodafone and an O2 sim using an Xperia Mini Pro and want to have both in it at the same time.
Just want to know if it will work on an Xperia Mini Pro which might not be the same as the X10 Mini Pro for compatibility or whatever. Never done this before.
Check out www.magic-sim.com I got one for my Samsung galaxy s2 from them and it's a great little device. There's a compatibility checking function on the website so you could check the mini pro there.
I used it, 3 years ago... You only require a phone with a "sim menu", (the one with your carrier options... And a case big enough to be able to close it with this sim that is a little bit thicker.
The one I tested made disappear your carrier "sim menu", and replaced it with a custom menu that allowed to change the sim... Even allowed to schedule the changes...
The bad thing is the time it takes to obtain signal after making the change ( the same time it takes when you turn on the phone), and that you have to cut your SIMs to be able to insert them...
Now I sow one that did'n require to cut the Sim, but I think that's too big for lots of phones.
The one I have from magic-sim fits really well. Sim switching takes about 4 seconds. It sounds like the technology has improved a lot since you used it.
how it connects, in layers?
so, this adaptor don't make the phone work with the two sim at the same time?

Sim card and LIve ID issues

Hi, I just got a Lumia 800 and I have the following issue:
I use my iphone's mini SIM (cut from regular SIM) and the phone is stuck in airplane mode, cannot deactivate it. With a different mini SIM I manage to get out of the sirplane mode, but cannot find any networks.
The phone is unlocked. Does it require a special kind of mini SIM? (i.e. higher voltage or anything)?
My second issue is that I cannot activate the Live ID . After I go through all steps I end up in the final screen that says that did not manage to complete teh process and I should call the customer service (no idea which as it is a button and the phone cannot make a call).
I earched around but have not found any similar problems arisen by other users.
Thanks

Nope, that's all it requires a micro sim, just like the iPhone 4/4S, best get the phone checked if it's a fault on the phone to be honest, as for Live ID, from my own experience, it's best to create a new e-mail account for it, it has problems, especially when it comes to using the app marketplace, it was a nightmare for me, cool beans.

I will try a new SIM on Monday and if that fails too I will haveit checked.
No lack on the sim issur. With the sim in the phone is stuck in airplane mode, with the sim out the airplane mode cannot get activated.
I failed to mention that it is a test unit, cannot see the IMEI but it updates normally
Is it a demo model? Those can only be acquired if stolen and won't usually activate....
It is activated now if you mean the live id and was working when initially delivered. I work for vodafone, this is how i got it. Nokia said cannot find what is the problem

[request] using a 2nd phone SIM card through Bluetooth

There are gimmicks, like the http://www.skygmate.com/18-gmate-plus-white.html Gmate plus, that allow having a second SIM card for your Android or iOS device. They get your second SIM and connect to your main device with Bluetooth; with the appropriate app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.simo.simomate you can place and receive calls and SMS messages and also do gprs connections.
My question is, could we do the same with a regular phone instead of a Gmate? I mean, connecting your Android smartphone to a second, Bluetooth-enabled phone, and placing and receiving calls through its SIM card?
I have found nothing like that in Play Store, but I guess it's possible and also useful.

Maybe if I go on bugging people on this, some developer will do the miracle!
I just want to use my Android phone to control by bluetooth another (Android or not) phone, to place and receive calls, using the first phone for loudspeaker and mic. Like it had 2 sim cards. Can it be done?

I m looking for something very similar. I have a OEM sat nav/car phone thats pre bluetooth so has it's own sim slot. Its a pain to keep taking out the sim every time I get in and out the car, so I d like something that I can slot into the carphone's sim card slot that connects via bluetooth fo my phone. It would have to make the carphone think its just a normal sim, when in reality it would actually be remotely accessing my phone's sim card. Its perfectly possible, you d just need a bluetooth dongle, a small chip to convert the info from bluetooth to something the other phone thinks is a sim. Woudlnt have to be a smartphone, could work with any phone with bluetooth to control another phone, no need for apps or anything. trouble is, whilst all the components exist for it to be possible, no one actually comdines them into a product.
I'm searching for this since a long time. Do you find something ?
Should I feel bad about bumping this thread because I'm looking for the same thing?

Dual Sim not working - Wileyfox Swift 2x

Hi,
Just picked up a Wileyfox swift 2x and am having an issue using it in dual sim mode.
When a single sim is enabled it works just fine but when the second sim is enabled that sim does not connect to the network, if I disable the original sim the second sim then receives reception as normal.
Have looked on the forums but cannot see any other users having the same issue so don't know how to progress this.
Have used these sims in a dual sim phone previously without any issue so its clearly a handset rather than an operator issue.
Any help appreciated!
