What system version are you on and which version of CF Auto Root did you use? Do you have a custom recovery installed? If not, you should use Odin, not an app to install it. Once you have a custom recovery then you can just use that to install the SuperSU zip from Chainfire (same guy who does CF Auto Root).

Download stock firmware from sammobile and flash it with odin to fix bootlloop.
then flash cm 12 & flash supersu.zip to get root access - https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

Cyanogenmod comes with root. You only need to activate it. Go to settings -> about phone and tap repeatedly on Build number. After 5 tries you'll enable Developer options and inside there you can enable root. DON'T FLASH ANYTHING!!!

My Galaxy s3 can't be rooted??

hello guys i rooted my device and then i flashed a custom rom on it "Marshmellow 6.0.1" and every thing worked fine but when i tried to root my phone which is on custom rom Marshmellow but i didn't get the root permission
What i did:
I have a CF Auto Root on my pc and i flashed it on my device with odin and odin after finishing the operation it says "PASS" which that means my phone now is rooted.
But when i reboot the phone i didn't see the super user app. Also i checked the root by "Root Checker application" and it sais no root permission. What happened to my phone? please help and thanks :good:

Cannot root my Samsung Ace 8530i, not encountering any problem either

So I Am trying to root with that update.zip method, that is successful but I can't find any SU icon on phone after rebooting. CustomRecoverYmod thingy works but not rooting. What should I do?
