Ex sd card - Verizon LG G3

Im on AICP 5.1.1, and decided to try cm13. Somewhere in the process, my sd card got formatted.
I used guiformat to reformat to fat32, but now I cant copy anything to the ex sd card. Permissions are rw, and I can see whats on it, storage reads the volume, but can't copy to it
Any help would be appreciated

i have seen several people report this issue from cm13, and worst problems with the card than yours, in some other help forums on xda.
i havent seen a fix posed yet, but i rarely visit the cm13 rom threads.

Sdcard .org
Their formatting tool worked for me. My 32 gib card was reading as 19 mib. I had to do a complete format tho not the quick one.
NOTE: My card was already blank, not sure what to do if you wanna recover what's on yours.

Need to format SD card

I've been installing apps on my 16GB SD card, but just noticed that only 116MB of it are being recognized. So, I know I need to format it. My question is, can I just copy everything that's currently on it to my PC, format it, and then copy everything back?
Thanks!

May I also suggest using SD Format to format. Windows format has sometimes not formatted uSD well. If you are only seeing 116MB you might use EASEUS to ensure the whole disk is available to you.
Both utilities are free and quite useful!
Thanks! And I did plan on using SD Format.

Can this be the cause of all my trouble.

i had my 8gb sd card working perfect.. all of a sudden it had stopped working.. wouldnt read at all in my phone, but in my girlfriends phone ( which isnt android ) it reads perfectly.
now, while flashing a new rom and clearing data.. i had this come up..
Formatting /sd-ext...
E:format_volume: make_extf4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
with all the rest working fine.
Backup the data and format the card in the phone.

this was happening on my last sd card, after this started happening, i couldnt access anything on the card. So ive now changed to a 2gb card. havnt made an sd ext yet. so is that why ?
happened to me as well, SD got corrupted, it can be read from a pc, but cannot change the contents thus cannot re-format, luckily i can copy it, then bought a new one, problem solved, phone is working fine again.

I think this is normal for sd card without ext partition.
have you try to un-mount and mount the sd-card?
can the sc card be read from recovery?

mounting it from cwm ? nope i havnt tried that.
Im not having any troubles at the moment with this new SD Card. I just wanted to try and get the old 8gb sd working. having 2gb isnt enough for all my music and apps.
Ive formatted the old sd card. but it still shows as having 6gb.. so 2 gb missing ? AND.. i can put it in my girlfriends phone, and load it up on the computer. put anything on it i want, but it wont read in ANY phone..
Use panasonic sd formater under win.

its basically a throw away sd card now, so ill give it a shot lol.
hoping i got the right program
** tried that... didnt work. it formatted the Sd Card. but still wont read in my phone.
Also tried to Mount the SD card from Cwm. but i get
Error mounting /sdcard!
not sure if this will help anyone.. but i partitioned the sd card ages ago, all was working fine... now, after formatting, my 8gb sd card is still just nearly 6gb. so 2 gb is missing.
connect the sd card to the computer via a card reader. delete all the partitions and then format it using the fat32 system. try to read it now. if it still doesn't work try to format it using the fat system. maybe this will work.

[Q] External sd card problem after aokp flash

So I recently rooted my Verizon Note II, rooted with casual and twrp. I flashed the milestone version of aokp and for some reason cannot mount my external sd card. I get an error message that says "sd card is blank or has an unsupported filesystem". The sd card was working fine on my rooted phone before flashing aokp. Any ideas?

Its my understanding some Roms dont support exFat, a file system format used by SD Cards. you should try backing up the data and then formatting it to fat32.

thanks for the advice. It seems like aokp can reformat the card itself, but I'm a little afraid to let it try. I was also just reading about using siyah kernal and another thing called vold-exfat that lets you use an exfat formatted card. I think I'm gonna do one of these two things but it seems easiest to let aokp reformat my card if it will actually reformat my 64gb sd to fat32. I haven't been able to find out what it will reformat to though... very confusing

It won't reformat a 64GB card right. Download something likr EaseUS or another formatting tool. There is one that is posted on XDA quite a bit but for the life of me I can't remember its name.

Can't mount external sd card

Hello. When trying to flash my mini X android box, I used sd card from my sgs2. After that, I inserted the card to sgs2 and rebooted.
The telephone said "Corrupted card" and asked to format. However, it formatted internal sd card!! And it doesn't see the external one.
I've tried formatting external sd to fat32. No luck.
What should I do?

check the link below ma8, hope it will be of some help with ur issue

Well, this may sound stupid or strange, but what I couldn't do with gParted or Windows partition was easily done by putting sd-card to my Note 10.1
My problem is solved by now. The only thing that bothers me is that my internal sd is formatted and everything's lost. If anyone knows how to recover all data, please pm me

sd card write permission problem

Hi
I've noticed about two days that when i delete a file or folder on my sd card, after a reboot, the file or folder does appear again. I've also tried creating a folder or a file, but after a reboot, they are gone.
the sd card is a scandisk 32gb sdhc, I'm running RR 4.0.7 rom, kernel is Dorimanx 9.40.
things I've tried:
format the card through recovery, remove the card and insert in a card reader and format no success.
through recovery, it says format successful but after a restart, the files and folders are still there.
on windows, using disk manager, formating unsuccessful and using sd formatter, I'm advice to switch off the write protection. switched on and off on card reader just to see but same message.
any suggestion would be appreciated.
ps: also used linux live cd, boot, tried to format from there but no success.
Looks like its an issue with the SD card mate. Try another card and see first.
