No 3G/4G Connection after ROM flash / root. - Sony Xperia M4 Aqua

Hey guys, i rooted my BL Locked 2303 with all the steps from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/root-xperia-m4-locked-bootloader-models-t3257326
And after finished rooting + TVVRP recovery install, i installed xposed too with THESE (Click) steps, and now my phone doesn't have 3G/4G connection, any solutions out there? It would be good to know.

Only data connection is not working or no network access at all?
Did you configured your APN settings? Internet and MMS settings @ Sony website

It's locked for me and xposed still works as i noticed

I have the same issue.
It's NOT an APN problem in my case.
Two reasons why:
1. My network downloaded the settings and installed them successfully. Also, I wrote down the exact settings on my original firmware and checked them on the new firmware. They are exactly the same. But I still don't have 3G/4G. So it's not APN settings in my case.
2. When I do a network search on the new firmware, 4G networks do not appear. I bet that's a radio/frequency issue on the different firmware.

Ok, so I was desperate enough to try your method despite the broken english haha.... Can I say that I love you? BECAUSE IT WORKED! Can confirm this method works for the 16 gb E2306 LOCKED bootloader. To add some clarification for others reading this.
1. When flashing the ftf file, be sure to do a full wipe
2. First boot will take a while
3. Make sure to place the root installer in the same folder as you ADB folder.
All the best, thank you, and time to give life to this phone

I think you need to do some modifications to the .bat file. Check the model and build number and replace with yours. I even change the filename and include my model number there,in my case E2312 .

Unfortunately that did not work. I had an lte connection prior to rooting, so i think i has to do with the rooting process. Also, options such as data roaming were available prior to root, and no longer now. Can I safely flash the e2306 ftf file without breaking root?

Well I also undergo same problem after did root my E2312,happened after I did remove a bloatware via xplore (phone rooted).Phone reboot and suddenly I cannot access all network related things, from wifi to data network.I did google and some results say things related to my xperia theft protection (mxtp) or selinux, some sort like that. The .85 ftf that i have flashed actually trigger mxtp by default but I don't think it is the real problem, same goes to selinux things. What I did is just reflash the .85 ftf,set-up,get root and disable mxtp+make selinux permissive. Now my phone is just okay.Only looking for solution tu disable software update that keep nagging, but it is not a big deal.

I just tried and added new system language.
go to Settings, General Management, Language and Input, Language, add language.
If Arabic doesn't show in language list, click on 3 dots on top right and select All languages.
Scroll down to bottom, you should see Arabic over there.
Hope this helps.
From the Googling of it, it sounds like you followed the directions to change the language. It does say if a language is not supported, it will roll to the next language that is... Which would be English. If you added another language (being mindful of how to be able to go back in and change it back to English later)... For example maybe Spanish, might tell you if it looks only partially changed her due to a Arabic not being guy supported as a language to change into...as it's not built into the firmware?
I wish there were better answers, but sometimes these firmwares are localized, and if you have a USA branded model... It might be mainly localized off English, Spanish, French Canadian (maybe?).
Maybe I'm wrong and someone can give you a better detailed answer!

Flashing S6 Edge to EE Network

Hi:
Newbie here, so please bear with me. I am fairly techie, but never really worked on phones (I'm a Windows / Network engineer by trade).
I had an S6 Edge on the Vodafone network, and live in an area with poor cell coverage. So, I fully took advantage of wifi calling. I've upgraded to the S8 (gorgeous phone, BTW) so I gave the device to my missus, who made the mistake of buying an EE iPhone, and hates it.
We unlocked the phone to the EE network, but the wifi calling option has vanished, and I've been told that this is by design, as only phone purchased directly from EE have wifi calling enabled.
Been looking around, and have seen that if we root the phone and flash it with an EE image, then things should be hunky dory. However, having never undertaken a project like this on a phone, I'm seeking some guidance, as I don't want to completely brick the device.
Are there any idiot-proof step-by-step guides on here to do this?
Cheers in Advance

It's actually a lot simpler than you think. No need to root all you have to do is flash the EE firmware through Odin (Samsung flashing tool) and voila, EE Wi-Fi calling will appear. Also volte will be available too.
If you need step by step I can help.
I need model number and android version and I can link you the firmware.

Hey dude.... after trolling through this forum some more, I was able to find what I needed to flash the firmware onto the device... However, Wi-Fi calling (as an option) does not seem to appear yet, but I wonder if that is due to the lack of SIM card (wife put it back in her iPhone, so I could sort this at work.

When you downloaded the firmware was there 5 files in the zip? Or just the one AP file?
Did you look in phone app > settings then scroll to bottom for Wi-Fi calling option? If you flashed an EE firmware it should be there mate.
As well as the EE firmware you need to have the EE csc. You have this csc, EVR?

Heya.... no such "issues" so to speak. Just one where my baby kicked the USB cable, causing a brief disconnect during the flashing process. This, of course, sent me into a spiral of panic because the entire phone crashed, with errors, recovery messages invoking Smart Switch, and the like. However, restarting the phone and connecting it to Odin completely recovered the phone.
Initially, the flashing worked, but it didn't enabled Wi-Fi calling, so I reset the phone back to factory settings, flashed it again and voila!!!! Worked like a charm! Then restored the backup from Smart Switch that I made yesterday, and the missus now has a full functional EE phone with Wi-Fi calling.
Thanks very much for your help mate.... you're a legend.
I'm gonna keep Odin, as it seems like a great recovery tool as well. :good:

Downgrade necessary for carrier/csc change? August 1st update

Hey guys,
Bought the galaxy s8 plus from a store thinking it was factory unlocked version directly from samsung, but it wasnt. Its the unlocked sprint version based on the radio, and it had a tmobile app or two already installed. I am using AT&T and would like to change the carrier to at&t so that I can get a few features for at&t (Mainly being able to send mms while on wifi). I updated to the latest online update (which im guessing i shouldnt have) and i would like to know if its possible to easily change the carrier still, and or if i can downgrade safely to change the carrier. If so, what files are the latest that I can get the ball rolling with? Using the AT&T version is completely fine.
I came across this youtube video that shows how to easily change carrier without flashing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msAHhCVF-F8

Hey guys,
Bought the galaxy s8 plus from a store thinking it was factory unlocked version directly from samsung, but it wasnt.

Goto updato.com to download the latest AT&T stock firmware. Extract and flash the files in Odin. If you flash all the files (AP, BL, CP And CSC) you will wipe everything on the phone so backup first. If you don't want to start over, then just flash CP and CSC.
There are two versions, 955U and 955U1. The U version is carrier specific and will contain their own software bloat. The U1 version is unbranded so no carrier bloat.
If you need more details, search for carrier switch.

Hey my friend,
Thanks so much for reaching back with an update and for the support! Awesome! So, youre 100% sure downgrade procedure wont brick the device? Also, do you know if this will this trip knox? Last question: do you think this will solve the red tint on the edges of the phone? I heard this was supposedly a software issue, not hardware.

I'm pretty confident downgrading will not brick. It will definitely not trip Knox. Here's is a link someone says they fixed it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...sampwnd-root-green-screen-corruption-t3673810.

Ok, so I tried it and with the unbranded XAA version and I am getting a "FAIL! Model dismatch fail" in odin. Even tried renaming files to tar and removing md5 at the end.
I also noticed that when in download mode, there are no green words going across the screen like I see in youtube videos who get it after they connect it. Could it be i do not have specific drivers installed? I installed the samsung usb drivers.
EDIT: Scratch that, the odin PrinceComsy version (Has to have the banner at the top) seems to be working fine. I am currently flashing

Download quick reboot for your phone and use the app to get into download mode. Make sure you have debug settings turned on in phone. Also check if you can access the phone when its plugged into your computer. If you see it as a drive, then the drivers were installed correctly. If not, uninstall and reinstall.

Awesome. ok, so i got it to work. But now when i reflash the rom back for sprint, the splash screen is stuck to AT&T and does not remove or go unbranded no matter what i do. It even has bloatware for att when the system starts. I never flashed att rom, only sprint unbranded XAS, not sure how this is happening. How can i get unlocked gsm and cdma back unbranded for sprint? I even formatted everything and flashed the user data, still the same. Its weird
Also, I am flashing it back to return the phone to store the way I received it. This red tint is just unacceptable.

You need to flash the XAA not XAS U1 firmware.

Hey man, thanks for the update. So I should flash XAA to change splash screen to samsung and be able to have both sprint cdma and all bands of gsm enabled again?

Yes that firmware is unbranded. The CSC from XAA will automatically detect your carrier's sim and use that network.

Hey man,
Thanks for this! Also, do you know if it will allow you to choose cdma as an option as well?

Ok, so just tried it and the sprint CDMA is no longer available in the Mobile Networks menu., only the following:
Mobile Data
International Data Roamin
Disable 2G
Access Point Names
Network Operators (AT&T underneath)
There is no option to choose CDMA like there was before I just firmware changed. The XAS firmware that I had offered the option to choose automatic, LTE/3G, CDMA. Now its gone from the menu after the XAA flash.

Hey bud,
Thanks for this. My actual carrier is AT&T, but id like to keep the option of having CDMA available if I ever decide to go with sprint. I have the app installed, When i tried to launch Preconfig (com.sec.android.Preconfig.Preconfig) and it gives an error "su: not found"

Forgot you have to be rooted use the app. There's an adb command you can use instead. Just do a search in xda for preconfig carrier switch.
I flashed my spring s8 plus with Odin and now I can't get it to read my sim at all ,says will not register on network , where the carrier usually is it says 12345 , I've tried to flash back to stock and nothing works ...im at a loss this is my only phone ,I've tried to do a stock reflash and still nothing , I even did a emergency recovery through smart switch and still ...please help

Cubot Quest: Wireless Update not working

Hi, anyone having this kind of issue with updating Cubot Quest?
Connection failed: Trust anchor for certification path not found.
There should be V13 avialable: http://forum.cubot.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2400
Would I lose my settings, apps, etc if I updated/flashed manually according to instructions provided at the above address?

I updated my quest with those files... and yes, my phone was factory reset during the process. I went on to unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP recovery, then root with Magisk.
Pretty good phone for the money. The speaker is a bit crappy, but the rest seems solid.
Hi, I dont plan to root it atm, but what TWRP you used?
