I've searched the forums for a similar issue with no luck, if anyone knows of a thread with a matching problem please provide a link.
My problem is that whenever I connect to my home network via wifi, I'm able to connect/disconnect a maximum of 3 times before wifi stops working completely. On the forth try, the phone will detect the network, try to connect and instantly disconnect. The only way I've been able to get wifi working correctly again is by rebooting the router, which also restarts the '3 connection' cycle.
I'm using a Netgear DG834G v2 and currently running Wolfbreak's latest version of CM6.1.3 but I've had the same issue with every other rom, including the official SE firmware, which leads me to believe that it is a router issue and not the phone itself.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
In your phone, go to WiFi settings and press options button, then select "advanced", in wifi suspension politics (or something like that) select NEVER, then download and install Blade Wifi Fix from the market (i don't know what exactly does but it will prevent WiFi disconnections and it really works), and you can try using (optional) this app to connect to WiFi, if the problem still persists i would rather think it's a router issue or something ._.
CescVicious, thanks for your help. I tried both of those apps but my wifi continues to disconnect. I'm leaning towards it being a router issue more than the phone and have posted the problem on the Netgear forums.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I got a new Sony Tablet S a few weeks back and I have this really weird problem.
As soon as I on Wifi and connect to my college network, it connects fine and webpages open as expected.
But after a minute or so, all data transfer stops even though I am connected to the network. Initially I thought
it was a hardware issue with my tablet but when I went to my nearest McDonalds and connected to their connection, everything
worked fine and there was no interruption in the data transfer.
I tried a couple of other hotspots around town and they seemed to work fine.
So, now obviously its a problem with my college network. The funny thing is that my laptop, my cellphone and about a thousand other devices
connected to the same network work just fine and do not stop exchanging data all of a sudden.
I have tried various apps available on the Play store but none helped.
My (geeky) friend told me that the issue may be some sort of interference between the routers (Cisco Aironet series, I think), as every floor in my hostel has 4 routers, but he could not give a solution. I have also referred the problem to my system administrator but he too could not come up with a solution.
If anyone has a solution to this, please help!
Thanks in advance
Really strange.
I have a rule that occasionally works, strange probelms can be sorted out by a restart, if not, a reset mostly helps.
Can I suggest resetting your tab if not done yet!
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA
Did both. Doesn't help.
you need to re-flash the wifi modules, which comes with the kernel usually. But I dont think that possible at the moment.
Can you elaborate?
I have the same problem with my tablet, and when I called Sony for technical support, they said that the tablet is not compatible with the router I have. Which in my honest opinion dont think is the problem.
But as a way around, what I do is turn off the wifi for few seconds and then turn it back on.
This way the problem gets resolved.
I hope it helps you.
I have exactly the same problem, unfortunately the problem is with the wifi in my home, my sony tablet connect and disconnects, or it stop transmitting after a while, but other devices (my htc phone, my tablet, ipad, iphone) doesn't have this problem.
and as you said, when I go to other places the tablet works fine.
Someone said me that the tablet is not compatible with the motorola router of my ISP
I've been searching but there is no solution, by now I turn off and turn on the wifi every time I lost internet
Thanks people, but this is hardly a solution. It means I need to turn on and turn off the wifi every 60 seconds to browse the internet. Bye bye downloads, buffering videos and installing apps through the play store
Is the Sony Tablet S the only tablet in the world that is incompatible with routers? Then Sony should make sure that its clearly listed on their website that routers from major companies are not compatible with our Tablet
I solved the problem .. at last for me,
1 - turn off wifi.
2- in accounts - turn off "auto connect"
3- turn on wifi ( test if work )
4- reconect the accounts
too simple .. but works , try it..
I am sorry but its not working (that is if by auto connect, you meant auto sync)
Are you sure you are telling the solution to the problem I mentioned or something else?
Hi, I was suffering exactly the same problem and it boiled down that was a compatibility issue with the router. Unfortunately I could not find any other solution but replace the router itself!

Looks like I have to do the same. except I cant make my institute change their routers
What kind of encryption are you using on your router? Try disabling the encryption and see if the problem persists.
Also, what channel are you broadcasting on? It could be a highly populated channel, try changing that if you can.
I don't know what options are available through your routers configuration page.
I will enqure with my system admin and get back.
Meanwhile, I got a workaround to this problem. There is a freeware called MyPublicWifi which creates a virtual hotspot on my computer. This hotspot works fine and I can share my router's internet through this, even though it means I need to keep my PC on while browsing on my tablet.
I have experienced exactly the same problem since I bought the tablet. The router I have at home is a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2. After a very long time trial-and-error, I have found a solution to it.
(1) Router setting: Force to set the 300Mbps mode of Buffalo router to 20MHz, not auto nor 40MHz. Some routers may display 150Mbps mode.
(2) Tablet setting: Settings->Wifi->advanced->Wi-fi disconnect policy, set to "Never"
You may try it and I think this will resolve the wifi disconnection problem. As for the reason, I think it is related to 11n because I have not found any problem with 11a/b/g router yet.
Hope this helps!!
Hey everyone, I got myself a Z2 recently and have been very happy about it for the most part. However, some things seem to not function a 100% the way it's supposed to.
Some times after it's been to sleep and I try browsing online with it using either 3g/4g or wifi the phone says it has a connection, but nothing loads. All I have to do to solve this is to refresh the wifi/3g connection manually, and then it works. It's rather annoying to always go through that procedure every time I want to use my phone, so I'm wondering is there anything I can do about this? Or anyone experienced anything similar?

I have the same issue with WiFi while the phone sleeps or is active (no probs with mobile data though!), but I was not able to determine whether it's my router, the phone, or a combination of the two (though I have a hunch).
When I'm in my room which is unfortunately the farthest from the router, and the connection drops, my Z2 is not able to reconnect on its own. Have to disable/enable WiFi or else it's stuck in an infinite loop of connecting and obtaining an IP.
Now, I'm fine with a dropping connection occasionally given the distance and the... quality of my router. However, my laptop is able to reconnect automatically.
I have tried lots of possible solutions: WiFi sleep policy, static IP or DHCP, disabling/enabling WiFi optimisation or Auto-IP, switching WiFi channels, and various WiFi fixer apps. Nothing worked.
My guess? There is a bug in the stock firmware that makes the phone unable to reconnect if a connection is forcibly dropped . Pair this with a crappy router and you have a recipe for inconvenience.
Unfortunately, I have no spare router to confirm this, and with the bugs in CyanogenMod I am reluctant to flash for now.
Also, I am sure this is not a hardware fault of the phone in my case since I notice this behaviour at home in my network only.
Do you guys possibly know where I could find some logs related WiFi? I wanna get to the bottom of this.
Hi All,
I just received a replacement for my V10 that suddenly died and I'm now having Wi-Fi connection issues.
When I brought it home yesterday the phone was still on 5.1.1 but updated overnight to 6.0 both experienced the same issue.
I have not rooted my device yet but will in the near future.
I have 3 different access points in my home with different id for each.
I can connect to one of them but not the other two.
When I try to connect it I eventually get a WI-FI connection error, or the connection is labeled disabled, or the connection doesn't connect and just shows saved.
I have tried:
1) reset the router
2) changed the password
3) changed to an open connection e.g. no password
4) forgotten then connection on the phone
5) restarted phone
none of these have fixed my issue.
Anyone have similar issues?
Anyone have any ideas for a fix?
Thanks you all for reading my problem.
steve
Just started having a similar issue yesterday. Stock MM, no root. Factory reset had no effect.
Maybe you can join my thread, I have problem with wifi also. You can check if we have same issue and may try my workaround http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/help/wifi-mac-address-changes-reboot-h90120j-t3470140
I actually just noticed this on my phone yesterday. It seems to happen to me when the wifi signal is a bit weaker (but should still be able to connect). My wife's V10 didn't have an issue though. Haven't find a solution yet, but my wifi would also not find any connections after it would disconnect and have to rescan to locate any networks.

Have you tried to do factory reset?
Hi,
I have searched but unable to find something similar to my issue.
I have a Asus ZenFone 3 Laser - ZC551KL.
Background:
Have had the phone for about a year but haven't gotten around to transferring SMS etc from current phone so it is currently only used as a tablet / watching YouTube etc. So not used massively.
On Thursday/Friday I came home and was unable to connect to my WiFi. When I restarted device I could connect but noticed Poor Signal and slow internet. It was now I noticed that none of our neighbouring wifi was showing.
I tried:
Restarting routers and phone.
Reset network settings
Safe Mode
My wife has the same phone and able to see all the normal networks. It doesn't seem to be an issue with speed once connected but I now need to be within about 5 meters of the router to connect.
I am curious if anyone else has had this or a similar issue / how they fixed it?
If people think think it might be a hardware or software error?
Possible fixes.
