I have around 4 stuck pixels. They show up on grey screens as little light dots. Gets kind of annoying watching movies when and such. Tried the jscreen fix from the market but no luck.
Is this pretty normal? What's Sprint/htc policy? Just wondering if every phone has a few. Thanks in advance?

Take it back, tell them you want an exchange due to screen defect. If it's one lone pixel I can see it being dismissible but a cluster is not good.
In the general market they usually have a dual standard.
up to X amount of pixels bad is considered within tolerance however if the pixels are adjacent then the threshold is lower so it would fail quality control.
If they give you grief just ask for a refund and rebuy it
Take it back. Its defective. They will replace it

i turned on camera in dark room and i see like 3 pixels blue/green
has anyone tried that?
i tried my friends , turning on camera in completely dark room and didnt see any pixel issues
I have found from all these devices it is pretty common to see a stuck pixel here and there. I think you have to decide how bad it is or isn't. Sure you can exchange it but then you have to keep worrying if the next one will be worse and it will then become a never ending cycle!

Curious what you re going to do? I have 1 tiny one on the side of the phone that is only noticeable in a dark room on a black background. On the fence on what to do....I went through this with my TP2 and went through 4 phones and ended up keeping the best one of all of them but still had a stuck one. Just wasn't as bad as the other 3.

That program didn't fix my issue and with the other program I noticed a total of 4 all generally in the center of the screen. I am going to have Sprint exchange and see what happens on the next one. Since yours is in the corner I would let it slide.

I had to do this yesterday and they gave me so much trouble about having a dead pixel. Yeah, it is pretty particular to complain about but didn't we buy a brand new phone?!
I bought mine online, so I am not even going to deal with the store.

Good idea. I stopped by the store today and they just about laughed me and my 5 stuck pixels out of the building.....tossers.
They ran a "test" and said everything was fine and a few stuck pixels were fairly normal. I called sprint and they offered a new phone that should be here Monday. Kudos to sprint!
Hopefully the new one doesn't have the same problem.

Ok I think I have lit pixel. When I lower the notification bar over the home screen I get bright white lit pixel on the lower right of the screen. It's only noticeable when I lower the notification bar and not on any other black screen. Anyone with this problem?
green pixel
I have single green pixel here. Like you, it only appears against a dark background and it's located in the bottom-right corner. Best Buy didn't have any extra units for replacement but assured me that next week I'd receive a replacement if I just brought it back in. My OCD has kicked in though and it's bothering me more each time I see it!
Yeah I have a dead or lit pixel. Its white on a black back ground My Best Buy had extras that they couldn't sell but I'm guessing they could do a exchange so I'm not that bummed out.
Looks like HTC did a good job of this not being a big problem, base on the lack of dead pixel threads.

are you kidding me!! for the past two weeks ive been trying to get a flawless phone ive been to 4 sprint stores, all the evos id seen had dead pixels, so i dont know what are you talking about, i am really frustrated with this phone and htc for using cheap screens on this device, I bet most of you do have a dead pixel, download the detect dead pixel app and youll see
Wow... maybe its just me. But I think exchanging a $600 for a dead pixel is a little too excessive... I have 1 dead pixel near the bottom, but it doesn't really bug me that much. It's gives it some personality =D
Dead pixels have been a problem with LCD technology since the beginning and these screens HTC are using are anything but cheap quality. This is simply a recurring issue with LCD's in general.
I'm not saying you have to deal with it or that you need to stop being so picky. Hopefully you find the perfect phone.
And FYI I don't have a single stuck or dead pixel and I bought this phone off of Craigs list. It was a roll of the dice and I got a perfect defectless phone.

ive had dead pixels on lcds and phones before, over time they do come back to life.
pointless taking it back unless theres a cluster of dead pixels in one spot.
I am on my third Lte because of dead pixels. The sprint store didn't like me when I came in to replace the replacement because of the same exact problem. I told the salesman that I had paid full price and I would not stand for a defective product. I told him look at it this way, would you buy a brand new car with a dent in the door without them fixing it before you signed the papers? I think not. People should not stand for anything less than a perfect phone when it is brand new. If HTC and Sprint had better quality control then I wouldn't have had to return 2 phones.

I had a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I thought I could live with it until I tried watching a movie. It looked like a baseball floating in the middle of the screen. If I am renewing my contract and buying a $600 phone, it better damn well be perfect. There is no reason to accept a phone with a manufacturer defect if it bothers you, regardless how small.

So it appears that I have a dead pixel. I can't really tell. It's definitely not on the surface, so it's either dust underneath the screen or its a dead pixel. But it's a very very tiny black spot, right on the white part of the clock on the homescreen. Should I take this baby back? I can probably live with it for 2 years...i guess...it's just knowing it's there that bugs me. There's no danger of more dead pixels is there? Is one dead pixel indication that more may happen?

If the pixel is the only screen issue I'd say keep it. Swapped mine only to get one with a dead pixel somewhere else and now I also have the dreaded yellow cloud towards the bottom of the screen. So count yourself lucky if that's the worst of your problems. Take care.

Judging from the review on the market, NO. But, I haven't used it personally. however, I would think if something bad happened, you would see a ton of bad reviews talking about this.
HI, I just wanted to add something to the list of problems that the new evo is having, yesterday i went to the sprint store to buy an evo lte, but i couldnt take any home, since all of them were plagued by dead pixels, the sprint rep open six boxes and all of them had a least one dead pixel, I went home very frustrated i cant understant how HTC uses cheap screens on its premiun devices, I am one of the guys that cant stand to know to have a dead pixel on my screen, since once you know its there is a pain not to look at it. So i will keep going to every sprint store until i find one with no dead/stuck pixels. It may take months but ill be worth it. I personally suggest and encourage that you guys download the app called dead pixel test, and try to find any dead/stuck pixels on your screens if you do find some, take your device to sprint and return it, and get a new one without any deffect, lets make htc to stop giving us cheap quality parts in our premiun devices, we are paying a lot of money so we deserve to have a device with not deffects. I can understand a dead pixel on a tv screen because is big, but on a small screen is unacceptable!!!. Please tell me what you guys think about it, and please bear with my english since is not my first language. Thank you

Dead pixels and LCD screens go hand in hand. Its the nature of the beast. Just wait and see when the GS3 gets release.
I noticed last night that I had like 2 or 3 dead pixels
i can probably understand a dead/stuck pixel on a big screen but on a small screen is just unacceptable.
JFYI, I ran the dead pixel test on my old 3D and had some obvious ones on that phone, but I just ran it on this one and what I thought was a dead pixel was just a speck of dust. Kept thinking I was seeing them and kept being able to just wipe them off. Sounds dumb but try it.
well my experience with this phone has been a nightmare i have been to 5 sprint stores around my area including best buy, and i have checked 24 htc evos lte and all of them had a least one dead pixel on then, im really frustrated with htc for this, i really like the phone but im starting to think that all of you phones have a dead/stuck pixel as well but you havent check it throughly. i really want a evo lte but i not longer wish to fight with the sprint reps for going over and over and keep returning phones for this. i am not crazy maybe im just having bad luck, but its embarrasing going back to the store and all the reps looking at me like (i dont want to sell you anything), oh i really hate my luck. but i hate htc the most for using cheap screens on this phone.
Wow, I have a slight bit of the yellow cloud toward the bottom of my screen, and I thought about going to try and swap it... but from what I'm hearing about the amount of devices out there with dead pixels, I think I'm going to keep the one I have since there are no dead pixels on it. I've checked.
You may want to report these issues to Sprint either by calling them or by posting on their forums.
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. My phone doesn't seem to have any issues at all. Curious to run that app, but don't want to be disappointed and find something wrong with my phone,,,

i just got my S3 and i m so worried and so sad people!
i got the pebble blue s3. i have issues with my screen. i ran the screen test and found the same dark spots on my screen when screen is black. there are lots of them. i dont have nice camera to take pic of those dots. they are really annoying because i surf the internet a lot and these dots are very visible specially in the dark!
the other issue is something with the viewing angle. when i hold the device right next to my eyes (as we all do most of the times) the screen seems to be more yellowish and the colors seem to be alot washed away! but when i change the viewing angle like just a little, i mean when i tilt the device just a little the colors get normal the way they should be!
the next thing is the pink tint. in the browser the white pages are EXTREMELY PINK! yes EXTREMELY PINK! that happens at the automatic brightness!
when viewing the black color on the sceen, when the capacitive touch buttons are on the light of the menu button seems to leave its light on the screen. and the blacks are NOT AT ALL BLACK!!!
people i am so tensed and worried! can someone help me out of these problems? i have read that the white S3 does not have any of this problem is it true? i have also read that the dark spots are because of the glu used and those would go away with time, but i dont believe in that! should i send the device to claim warranty and get it repaired? pls pls pls some one help me! i have spent all my money i had saved for the past 4 months for this set and i even sold my Galaxy Note for this! i am so much tensed! pls help me guys!

You got a defective unit it happens. So send it back or get it repaired / exchanged. You spent a lot of money you should get a product that works as intended without defects. The sooner the better you'll be much happier. Best advice I can give you. All without the need to jumping off a bridge or if you do hope that you that you land on kyan to break your fall.

The block splotches are absolutely not indicative of a bad display.
They are present on virtually every OLED screen, ranging from the Nexus One's, to the PlayStation Vita's, to the Samsung Galaxy S3's.
I can't speak for your other issues, but people need to understand the splotches are common on pretty much any OLED. Some can see them easily, some seem to be unable to, but it does not mean the panel is defective.
Why are you on here? I see you just joined the site recently. How about you learn to be polite and if you can't, then leave.

I use an app called dead pixel test, and it allows you to cycle through several different solid coloured screns, like all white, all black, red blue etc. No probelms with my screen, but I have a screen protector on it now.
Does yours have a screen protector that could be affecting it? Otherwise just return it as faulty.
I also have the pebble blue and screen is amazing. No issues here. Did notice the marks on a completely black screen in a dark room once but it hasn't showed since. Didn't really bother me.

I ended up talking to a phone tester that works for LG here in San Diego. She's from South Korea, she deals directly with corporate in Seoul and translates for them. I told her my V10 is a glitchy freakhouse and that it was all her fault.
She said they know that a certain percentage of the phones are defective with overheating, GPS failure and other issues. She didnt tell me what percentage though so not sure how wide reaching this is. I realize that missing fact makes this a little less valuable info but I thought it was interesting enough to share.
No product is perfect. I've dodge most of the issues I see here in the forum, only heating issue I had was trying the set up a email with Exchange server.
Like you said a number would be interesting. Did she indicate it was a hardware or software issue?

No product is perfect. I've dodge most of the issues I see here in the forum, only heating issue I had was trying the set up a email with Exchange server.
Like you said a number would be interesting. Did she indicate it was a hardware or software issue?

She didnt and wouldnt know and I'll tell you why. She explained their process. The testers just sit in an office and play with the phones, they dont use them in their daily lives. Then they send all issues to LG R&D who are supposed to diagnose and fix the issues.
Maybe they have other people doing more in-depth desting, I dont know but she is a contract employee of LG.

I'm not sure what your intention is here but if we dont bring things like this to light then we're not doing anything to help all the people who are getting bad GPS, dead pixels, etc. that is screwing up their daily lives and causing a ton of hassle. I'm not an activist but I'm also not going to completely ignore it when this phone got me all excited, cost me $700 and then turned out to screw up my week and waste a bunch of my time.

Yup, I agree. I'm going to return the one I have today or tomorrow. I want this phone to work so bad. I might try a new one, one more time.
Yea, not sure if its true but I have read in many forums how phones don't work properly out of the box and most were fixed by doing a reset on the phone. The first V10 I had was great except for WiFi. I get over 100 Mbps at home and every device gets the same speed. However, the V10 was reaching 10 Mbps...after the reset it worked great and speed was up. I did end up exchanging for a new one (just to make sure I had a good phone, why I got to do a reset to fix a new phone) and the new V10 is great, out of the box. I get GPS lock quick, great WiFi and no lag.

Since english is not my primary language I will do an extraordinary effort to do this...I've passed for 4 V10's already. I was waiting by 9.00am October the 30th to get this wonderful device LG announced that hit every single check mark that I always wanted in a smartphone. My first impressions should've sufficed cause the first one they brought was scratched out of the box, yes, the metal bands were scratched, so obviously I asked for another and that one was ok at least on he outside.
After less than a month I started to notice some weird behavior when displaying some content with the brightness maxed to 100%...dead pixels everywhere( I made a post). I exchanged that unit to and to make the story short I am with my 4th V10(counting the scratched one) and this one has "only" one dead pixel(or an array cause I don't think we can spot one pixel on this devices with our bare eyes) with no other issues so am keeping it fighting my OCD every time I think about it. I don't want to call T-Mo again and put another exchange request cause I know it will come with dead pixels and/or other more problematic issues.
LG quality control is a joke, at this price point dead pixels policy should be 0.

i have a lot of dead pixels and experiencing image retention issues. can someone help me? i dont know what to do.
Same here.
I have around 8 dead pixels on my phone, and my phone has guaranty but after contacting with guaranty they said only can repair and replace my phone lcd with another one.
SHAME ON YOU LG ???
I only see people complaining about phones bought from USA operators/stores, none bought on Amazon or other countries, I wonder
I bought my v10 on launch from vzw. No issues since day 1. Everything is spot on including the fingerprint sensor.

I suspect most of the "complaints" are propaganda from the competition
For complaints. Try a different brand if your not happy with LG. Make both you and LG happy, and move on.
I have had my V10 since December (from T-Mobile). Initially no problems to report, but the image retention issue has become progressively worse (as I type this, the image of this site is being temporarily "burned in"), and the GPS has only recently been failing to connect for navigation. my father also got a V10 the same day, but does not report these issues. User activity may be leading to a faster declining lifespan of phone, but both phones have had a drastic increase in overheating since receiving the Marshmallow update, which may be playing a role in the even greater descent into decomposition.
I've been a big fan of LG phones for years, but the V10 may not be able to keep up with the demand (I'm 19, so like most millennials, I use my phone constantly-possibly why I have this issue)
So my LG V10 has been perfect from day one. Now lets assume that every post on this thread is factual.
Then all we can do is say sorry it was you that got the bad phone, if you add all the posts here it's still less the half a percent bad phones, that's a pretty good number.
