I'm running the latest OTA (2.1.3-X) with blu_spark r53 that I flashed by eng.stk's r5 TWRP, and I don't think write access is available to the SD card, also Storage menu in settings doesn't allow to set SD as default for full system, can anyone help me with this ?

I'm using XInternal SD currently, its a workaround, but would still prefer native support for write access.

Well, you'll be using kind of "work around" until Google gives native support for Android OS again. It looks like it's not going to happen, as many device manufacturers even stopped allowing SDCard in devices'.

Just use the same module along with a root file manager like FX or ES
I had to modify the platform.xml to allow write access. There exists an xposed module (handle external storage) for that or an app in the play store (SDFix app).
External sdcard permissions is derped in OOS since the beginning, most non root apps can't write to it.
My previous Moto G 2015 was 5.1 and external sdcard worked flawlessly, never had issues writing to it.
That change in the framework probably will fix it.
OOS also doesn't have a safe unmount option to OTG USB, there's still lot's of stuff to OP team to fix up.
They fix 1 one thing at a time with OTAs, let's wait some 10 more and all will be good lol

Following this and wondered how you manage to use XInternal SD without Xposed? I came from Sony Z and loved the Xposed module but as far as I´m aware Xposed is not available for the OPX? Please tell me I´m wrong?

I do have Xposed installed ! You can install it easily too,
1. Download the Xposed SDK 22 zip
2. Flash it by custom recovery and Wipe Dalvik before reboot
3. Install the Xposed Installer apk
Easy as pie
And this module is really the only workaround. So yeah [emoji14]

I won't be responsible for getting any damages to your phone.
You'll have to connect to a proxy server due to the application requires a Chinese IP
Step 1 : Download and install 360 One-Root - http://down.360safe.com/360Root/360RootSetup.exe
Step 2 : Go into Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections, Lan Settings.Type in 61.144.217.182 in the Address box , then 81 in the port box,at last, tick both of the boxes under proxy server and press ok.
Step 3 : Launch 360 One-Root , Press the green button (一鍵ROOT)
Step 4 : Wait and Enjoy a cup of tea. If the root process fail the first time, DON'T PANIC and repeat Step 3 to 4 Again.
Step 5 : Reboot!!!!! Or you won't be able to update su binary
P.S. Enable USB Debugging
If you have a Security lock , please remove it before trying to root.
Feel free to repost this and Sorry for my Bad English.
Good job
Very nice:good:
No need to unlock boot loader for this method? and we lost Bravia Engine?

It's all Chinese.
Just making sure that this root does not touch the bootloader - the bravia/xreality stuff is unaffected, right?
Everything is working smooth as butter
After process is complete, restart your phone.
After installation is completed (and phone is restarted) "Root 360" providing own "SuperSU" app (but in Chinese), if you want you can install Chainfire SuperSU from the play store. (I did that to update binary. (binary update was completely success).
(If you installed Chainfire SuperSU app, you can delete from system/app Chinese version of supersu)
People reported that bravia engine working.
(I didn't noticed any difference)

Boot Loader is still locked.
Bravia Engine still working.
Bravia Off - view using QuickPic | Bravia On - view using Album
Restart, shutdown few times - confirm Root still working.

It was so easy yet scary... ALL IN CHINESE, so choosing and clicking buttons to install was a blind hit and miss
Anyway, if you keep on failing after multiple attempts, not only should you check that the USB debugging mode in on, and also lock screen is disabled,
YOU SHOULD ALSO DISABLE McAFEE anti-virus app as well
I'm afraid of that hit and miss.

Yes :good:
But, in case you have forced encryption, and the package doesn't flash, you can feel free to use the CF-Auto-Root package.
So I can use TWRP to roll back to my Marshmallow I'm currently on using the restore function if N doesn't cut it for me? Would I have problems with encryption or userdata by restoring (assuming I've backed up everything)?
What are you guys using for modified boot img to disable forced encryption? Thanks.

If forced encryption is disabled on Android N, it would stick if you flash a custom ROM.

You don't need the pro version. When you apply the adblocking it should ask for root permission. If not look for the supersu app on your phone and give adaway the permissions manually.

You need Xposed to block ads in YouTube using a specific module. Xposed is not compatible with Nougat yet so you will continue to see ads on YouTube. You would have to downgrade to Mokee 6.0 Marshmallow to run Xposed.

Install all and restart? Did you mean that adaway has already succeed in applying the host files? And there are still ads?

First thing I went looking for when I traded up from my V40.. but after reading a few posts it looks like either one from GPS or someone port an apk..
I did a search and wondered if anyone had seen this?

Thing is I am used to the LG variant but who knows? I'm not brave enough to try an unknown source lol ?

I could be wrong in this but I'm thinking that LG has replaced LG version of file browser with Google files. If you add a smart cleaning widget to your desktop, select storage and then choose downloads folder it links the next action to something called Google file. From there all files.incthe phone can be explored both phone and SD card memory. View attachment 4989285View attachment 4989287View attachment 4989289View attachment 4989291View attachment 4989293

I just ended up downloading one from the store that was ad-free. I prefer the LG one, but seems to be missing on the V60 (at least the user end app, not the one thru settings)

Yeah that files app got uninstalled. Seemed too "spammy" to me. I'll decide when I want to "clean" my SD card, thanks. I downloaded an ad-free file manager instead.
I use Root Explorer ... even though I haven't Rooted my device, it still works as a very good file manager...
YMMV...

I've been using CX File Explorer. Solid Explorer is great, but it just doesn't seem to work well with my network.
Thanks I'll check it out.
