bricked z2 - suggestions please - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a z2 I bricked from a failed flash (flashmode). There is no response from buttons (power button, power+ vol up, power+vol down), it does not go into flashmode (USB connect +vol down) or fastboot (usb connect + vol up).
The only response I get is when I connect power, whichever button is or is not pressed, the red led goes on for 2 seconds and then off. the led only comes on when I connect power/pc via usb.
I've left the phone battery die over 3 weeks, then charged, pressing no buttons. literally the first button press was to connect in flashmode. red led for 2 seconds, then off. no flashmode.
In flashtool, my mac and win7 (via VM parallels) the phone is recognised as a usb device, but with debugging switched off. reconnecting in flashmode or fastboot just results in a red led for 2 seconds.
so...
I've read loads of threads here on XDA and elsewhere and all the courses of action fail with no response.
I'm just about to try the rubber band power off trick.
Any other suggestions please?

No idea. I did leave the phone for a month and then charged for 6 hours.
Nothing on the screen though.

1. charge your device over night
2. press power + Vol+ for about 10 sec (or more) until it vibrates
if this does not succeed,
3. press the little red reset button in the SIM-slot

[Q] Stuck at Phone ! Computer - Can't get into DL mode

I have tried pretty much all methods mentioned in search, including:
plug usb in
hold down vol up and down
put battery in
see download screen.
also
just rebooting with vol up and down and power and releasing power as soon as screen goes away.
The way I got here was that odin started flashing firmware and then got locked up at cache.cfs (I think is what it was called).
Please help! Did I just buy a $375 brick??? Thanks!

In my experience I think you had the order of the battery pull method wrong. It makes a difference....try this...
Do this exactly....
- Leave USB Cable plugged into PC, but NOT INTO PHONE...
- pull battery from phone
- hold down VOLUP & VOLDOWN and do not let go
- insert battery...do not let go of VOLUP & VOLDOWN
- insert USB Cable into phone...do not let go of VOLUP & VOLDOWN
So long as nothing is totally bork'd you should see download mode pop up in a few seconds at this point..if so..you can let go now.
Are you using Odin3 v1.00 or v1.30? Depending on your version of Windows, the phases of the moon and all sorts of randomness having v1.0 stall at cache.rfs can be a common occurence.
Try using Odin3 v1.30 located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790026 if you are using v1.00. I've had much better luck with this version on x64 boxes...
If that doesn't work, I'm afraid I'm out of ideas...Best of luck
I was using Odin1.0 and I have win7 32bit. I also have a win7 x64 machine if for some reason you think that would make a difference...

The problem here is that I cannot get the charging deal to pop up. It only displays the Phone ! Computer deal.
same problem
I had the same exact issue... it is NOT bricked. I tried probably 120+ times to get into download mode and tried every which way.... just keep trying... i had battery out over night and tried in morning like 20 times and it finally went into download one of the times... it was a breath of fresh air to know that it wasnt bricked...i found out that if its truly bricked it wont boot up to ANYTHING, no hardware button lights or nothing....
just keep trying while holding both vol up and down... it just has to glitch in just right i guess from that screen you are seeing...
Just keep Trying
I just had the same issue that your having and I know what your going through. What just worked for me was this and I found it in the Vibrant Android Development Section under "Think Tank" Accessing Download on Hardware locked phones.
METHOD 3: STUCK AT PHONE ! COMPUTER:
Plug in the USB cable.
Turn the phone on it's side and use both thumbs to hold Vol Up and Vol Down
Press and hold the power button with your right index finger.
The screen will go black, continue holding.
The screen will come back on, you'll see the same Phone to Computer icon
Continue holding, the screen will go black
The screen will come back on, you should see "Vibrant" release the power button and you it should go into Downloading
Hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Yep, I sat for about 2 hours while my lonely G1 stared at me wanting me to us it again... out of no where, it kicked back into download mode. Stopped on the same issue though, Odin 1.0, cache file.
I've been less scared since that moment and been find getting down dl mode by pulling the battery before plugging into a machine.
Is it really hard to search.. I just asked this question last weekend, It is like one the third or fourth page... Just do what the first guy told you..
^ It works perfect

I don't imagine I have seen every one of the angles of this problem the way in which you have pointed them out. You are a accurate star, a rock star guy.
You have got a great deal to say and know so much about the subject that
i think you tough to just teach a class about it.
Thanks

Misread this.
When I had that happen, I held down volumes and power either 2 flashes or 3 flashes of the Phone---!---Computer screen.... pretty sure it was 2 and I let go of power for it to kick into download mode... might have been 3 though.

Hi,
I am also facing with the same Phone!Comuter problem. I tried all the methods advice here but without any luck . So please let me know if samsung service was able to resolve the problem or you figured out any new way.
I just contacted samsung and they had me ship it to them. They reflashed it to stock, but I am still unable to get into download mode. I would just say contact them, they had it back to me in 7 days.

Try charging it with the wall charger and hold the power button. I left mine to charge via usb but when i tried turning it on it hadn't charged and wouldn't even turn on with the usb plugged in. I left it with the wall charger plugged in for few minutes then held the power button every few seconds. It might of ran out of battery completely and has no power to boot up. Hope that works for you.

[Q] HOX+ Not charging, red led blink 3 times

Hi everyone,
i've got a HTC One X+ and wanted to install CM 11.
Everything was fine while flashing.
After last reboot i left my phone on my desk and was still booting.
I think there was a bootloop so my phone went out of battery.
Okay, so I plugged it on a charger and the red led is blinking 3 times, then nothing happen.
After this 3 times of blinking there is no response of the phone.
No reset (power and volume) or tipps from searches (hold down power up + down 2 minutes,...) are working.
The phone doesn't make any things, no more singns are given in anyway.
Is the phone destroyed? Or is there something I can do?
Its charging. 3 flashes mean its too low to boot

It's charging for many hours but no other reaction...
What to do?
Everytime I connect the power to the phone it's only reaction is flashing the led 3 times and then nothing else...
Okay, now the phone was charging the whole day and night. No reaction.
Can it be the battery is dead?
Try to press the power button right after you start charging (when the led blinks 3 times). You can also try to hold the power button for several seconds. The buttons should start to blink. Have you tried to connect your phone to your computer?

I tried to connect the phone with the pc but there is no device found. The only reaction is the blinking of the led for a short time.
Pressing the power button and plug in power -> no reaction
Plug in and press power button -> no reaction
Holding power button then plug in power -> no reaction
Plug in power and hold power button -> no reaction
And after those 3 blinks, the red light turns off?
I'm not an expert, but if there is nothing you can do then I doubt if there is any other solution than repairing it by a special service. But those 3 led blinks means still hope...
After blinking 3 times there is no lights coming on and nothing else.
I think I will send it to repair...
Thanks for all help

[Q] Z ultra won't turn on

Hi.
Today my Z ultra turned off while on locked screen. When I try to turn it on it is not responding and it do not respond when I connect it to the charger. I have tried to hold the power button and both the volume up and down at the same time, and it came a vibration and the Sony logo showed and it turned off again. Now that won't work either. I also tried to hold power + volume up and power + volume down. Nothing happens. When I connect it to the computer, there are a sound on the computer who tells something is connected. The sound comes again and again, but the phone does not show up on the computer.. What can I do?
Os - Cyanogenmod 11 4.4.4
Edit: I also tried the red button beside the sim-card slot.
Try connecting it to a wall charger, then press the red reset button. leave it to charge for several hours

I tried leaving it in the charger over the night with no success.. When I first connected it, the light turned red and the phone turned on, to the Cyanogenmod logo and turned off again.. Now it won't respond again..
The other thing to try is to see if it will enter flashmode or fastboot
Connect to PC
Hold the vol. up key
Press the hard reset button

I suspect that either the battery or it's controller are dead, can you get warranty on it? They may not take it with not stock firmware on it...
You could try the rubber band trick:
Setup flashtool to flash a FTF
Connect the phone like normal, but have a rubber band around the vol down key.
Leave for <insert_random_large_nubber_here> hours
It may just randomly flash.
The next suggestion is to buy a battery off ebay and replace it your self

Now there are something happening! I left the phone in the charger for 2 days and now the led light started to light up red. Although when I move the phone around, the light becomes weaker/stronger or turns complete off. It still won't boot into fastboot or flashmode and the reset button does not work either..

M4 Wont boot, tried almost everything.

Hi All.
As you can read in the title, my m4 aqua is stuck in "some kind of bricked mode". Not the first time this happen to my m4, but this time, the way I used to fix the problem doesnt work.
Everytime my m4 runs out of battery and it shuttoff itself, turns bricked. Then I plug to the charger and push Vol UP + Power button. After this method my m4 aqua comesback to life with no problems.
A few days ago the phone runs out of battery again so here we go... I press Vol UP + Power button and wait a few seconds but, this time it doesnt work! Tried few times, connected to AC, connected to PC, without connect... nothing works! No leds responses.
When I plug to PC, and I keep pressed Press Vol UP + Power button, Windows sound loops (USB connected, USB disconnected, USB connected, USB disconnected, USB connected, USB disconnected, and on and on...) Nothing more.
I Tried to press Vol DOWN before connect AC or PC, I tried Vol UP + Down + Power button... 10 seconds, 20, 30... Every posible way that I have found in google , forums like this, Xperia companion...
I would like to get my personal data back out before send the phone to sony but I think I have tried almost everything.
Please some help would be amazing.
Thanks in advanced.
Charge it all night, if battery is dead it will take some time to recharge.

Thanks but, no leds signals, not charging. I think the battery is ok but it cant be charged due a software o "brick" problem. Anyway Ive been charging for a few days.
