Not that weird, it has to double- and triplecheck against more known patterns to make sure it actually is your finger and not something similar.

I noticed a massive improvement in recognition times in 6.0.1 over 5.1.1 though. In 5.1.1 it sometimes takes about 2-3 seconds to unlock, in 6.0.1 it's barely half a second to as good as instant.

I've been on multiple beta's and 6.0.1 ROM's such as Sixperience, and all of them had blazing fast fingerprint recognition times. Back on 5.1.1 now though as all those beta's and custom 6.0.1 ROM's were unstable and bugged as hell at a lot of points.

Agreed, I'm on Sixperience and the finger print scanner is lightning fast. The Rom is highly stable now too.

Disable SMS from showing up in call log?

Is there any way to disable messages from showing up in my call log? I have been trying to figure this out since I got my phone, I went through all the menus/options and nothing... I text quite a lot so it's pretty annoying seeing every message on my log when I need t find a call.
I know you can hit menu > view by and I could select received calls, rejected calls, etc... but I want to be able to view ALL calls.
Thanks!
Hmm look at this. One quick google search later, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1677906

Definitely, faced the same issue. Doesn't really have any effect on calling, but the screen constantly getting on while calling and vibrating due to some accidental button press is definitely annoying

Yes. Screen turns on and off randomly for me. I initially thought I was holding it wrong but now I realize it's a real bug!
Anyway I'm on r37 kernel too but I didn't notice if it stopped this bug. Will confirm after a day or so.

Which ROM has the best battery life, or is closest to Google's stock MM?

Just got mine today, from Prime day! I'm looking for a simple ROM, since my mom will be using this. I've heard that EMUI is confusing, so I was hoping to find a ROM that is as close to stock as possible.
Thanks!
Cm13 is your best bet for close to stock. However your mother won't have access to the fingerprint scanner if you go that route. It is currently only working on the stock rom. I found that stock with nova, Google messenger, and chrome are very doable and provide great battery life.

Oooh nice. Can you explain what this line means
"We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working"
Are we supposed to use the Arm64 GApps, or x86_64?

Sweet haha, we're in the same boat. I'll try that out when I get home, but when I was messing with it yesterday, it felt so similar to an iPhone. What does the Simple setting do?

It's a custom stock launcher that puts 8 or so "tiles" on the home page-phone, camera, email, browser and whatever else they use. Settings and camera settings are limited to just a few things.

This means we are using a 64 bit chipset (Snapdragon 616). You have to use ARM64 gapps in CM13.

Yep, I just installed it a few min ago and is working like a charm.
Anyone notice much of an extra battery drain? This was the reason/concern OnePlus removed it.

Not sure yet. I have only been running it since yesterday afternoon. Doesn't seem terrible but not enough time yet to really be able to give you any solid feedback.
Just installed it today, and I must say, it works perfect. not sure why OP decided not to include it!
It does take a troll on battery. My usual overnight drain is 1%. Last night it was 7% after enabling AOD.
AOD is not optimised for OP display yet
I don't think the display is the problem, it's an OLED like any other.
The biggest problem is the software, how it runs the AOD, how the CPU/GPU works, etc.

I do have LTE and I do get calls. Didn't to anything. Simply flashed the ROM according to the instructions on the OP page and that's about it.
Perhaps it has to do with the operator you're working with.
