Back Cover that protects camera and is easily removable to swap battery - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hi please suggest a backcover that is easily removable so I can replace it with the extra battery, I don't like flip covers and the one that I have urban armor gear is really hard to remove and might damage the device if taken on and off multiple times.

Do the following:
1 Open window and let your phone Drop
2 Done protecting

thank you so much

Metal Battery Cover

Hey guys - does anyone know of any after-market battery covers for the HD that would be metal - specifically for the purpose of attaching to a magnet? I purchased one of those magnetic "cradle" kits that is basically just a big magnet you stick onto whereever, with a little metal slab that you stick onto the back of your phone. Then - you can just stick the phone up close to the magnet and it sticks - a perfect low-profile car cradle. The metal slab that sticks to the back of the phone is thin - it doesn't really stick out any further than the camera housing - but it still isn't as sleek as just the phone by itself. I thought a replacement battery cover that sticks to the magnet would be perfect. So... does anyone know of any? Or perhaps a vendor that could custom-machine one?

I made my own magnetic car holder solution. Didn't cost much and can't imagine it work better than this...
I can't see what you've done there... It looks like some sort of metal on the battery itself, so that the regular cover works fine... What is that? How is it affixed?
Jouh has placed 2 razor blades on the battery.
Cool! I'm going to try that...
just don't take ur phone to the airport...... they might think ur going to use the razorblades for other non magnetic purposes.
Ohh! Good point! I would have completely forgotten about them and then been really screwed - I actually have to run my mobile through an X-ray every day at work... That could be an issue. Oh well - back to the drawing board...
just do the same with any thin metal i.e. sheet steel.

I really wouldn't recommend directly attaching the phone to strong magnetic sources. It may impede the functionality, reduce or affect the battery operation, interfere with the many antennas in the phone, not to mention run the risk of corrupting memory sticks etc?
The phone itself isnt that heavy so probably wouldnt need a strong magnet, but you'd want to use something quite strong just to hold it in place. Imagine driving over a speed bump or pot hole which dislodges the phone and makes it go sliding across your dash board and out of an open window. (worst case scenario..)
If youre looking for a quick release holder I would recommend something that you clip the phone into like those hip holsters and then find one that has a socket connection to a window mount.

I used the same razors and the same magnet (This one) with my SE P1i for 1½ year without any issues.
And the phone doesn't move 1 mm even driving over the biggest speed bump in Sweden.

I honestly couldn't think of one thing that a magnet could have an effect on in the phone, certainly not the memory. The only type of memory that is affected by magnets are HDD (because the data on the disks is stored magnetically) and credit cards (once again, data stored magnetically). However, RAM/ROM is completely different and relies on gates and latches to store data, neither affected by magnet. Not to mention even if it did have an HDD (like old school mp3 players/iPod) it would take a strong magnet (mainly electromagnet) to corrupt the memory. Likewise, I can't foresee it having any affect on the battery or interfering with the antenas (unless you're using some super strong magnet....which you're likely not)
One of the only build quality problems i have with the Touch HD is that the battery cover creaks when pressed in certain spots.
To revive this topic, does anybody know of an actual aftermarket battery cover for this phone, preferably metal?
I searched google to find no results. It seems like it would be a good idea to make these
You can also shave the inside of the battery cover with a small sander. Than add ANY kind of magnet that will than fit inside the cover. The plastic cover is THICK so you can shave enough for some type of magnet.
I would also like a metal/rubber etc back cover. The quality of the orginal cover is driving me nuts..
Has anyone found this kinda aftermarket item?

Any news on that topic?

Credit card/Wallet phone case

I bought one of these for my dad: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005KK9C7C
Terrible case. It was nearly 40 dollars, and it's just about the worst way to spend that much money. I wrote a review (only review) on amazon:
I ordered this case a week ago. It just came in today due to some difficulty with USPS, not Amazon's fault. I opened the packaging, and it was clear that it was a cheap product. It comes in a simple small box, something you would expect from a Chinese ripoff. The leather material is of ok quality. It doesn't scratch, and it is a nice color. However, the actual plastic which holds the phone is cheap, and mine came with a few chips on the edges. It feels like the phone could fall out any minute. The hold is not secure at all. The design of the case is overall terrible. The credit card slots won't expand, so putting more than one card in each slot is nearly impossible. The extendable flap is too loose, and often extends while in my pocket, allowing my pocket contents to come in contact with the phone's screen. Finally, the worst draw back is charging. I have to open the case entirely (flip it open) to charge the phone. The charging slot is at the bottom of the phone, and the case is made so the credit card holding section flips from the bottom to the top. This means there is a strip of leather blocking the charging port. Un-doing the button flap won't fix it, you have to completely expose the screen the charge the phone.

So if anyone was thinking of buying this case: don't.
My dad still needs a new case. He insists on one of these types of cases. I've never used one, and I've looked at the normal companies, haven't found anything good. Does anyone know of one?

[Info] Some tips for (Droid) Razr Maxx battery conversion

I've just successfully converted my GSM Razr to a Maxx today and like to share some of the experience...
As basic orientation, the instructional video from CRS is okay, together with the images on Ifixit.com they provide good help, although they fall a bit short at some points.
The following only reflects my own opinion/experience... if you're not as clumsy or cautious as I am - good for you.
Stuff you need to get:
Get the black maxx PCB frame. And get a replacement camera bezel.
T3, T4 and T5 Torx screwdriver. Yes, T4 too, wait till you read why.
For opening up the phone and handling parts, you need these as well:
I needed each one of them and besides the Torx, nothing else was required.
Get a bunch of these for cheap on Ebay. Color or vendor don't matter, they're all made of the same stuff.
The tools you don't need:
iSesamo... don't order it. And don't use it if you get it sent to you nonetheless (like in my case). It's made of metal.
Not only can it easily get you some nasty dents/scratches at the side of the housing, it can, when being handled unfortunately, destroy the electronics on your phone's motherboard... you don't want that.
The spudger.. I don't know, I didn't need it at any point
Here are some additions to the CRS & Ifixit documentations:
I) In CRS' video and on the Ifixit website, you will read that T3 + T5 screwdrivers are required. Unfortunately, they both either made a mistake, or the production process has been altered, because T4 is needed as well; actually, all but 3 (of all those described as T3) were infact T4 torx screws. Imagine my heartbeat when I tried to use a T3 on the screws and it didn't fit
II) I did (negligently) break the camera bezel while removing it. If you don't use a heatgun/dryer to losen the adhesive beneath it, you will almost certainly break it. And that's ok, because a replacement bezel costs 6$, while damaging stuff like the rear camera with too much heat costs almost tenfold.
I honestly can't tell if it is really dangerous to heat up stuff like the camera or not, I just didn't want to risk it.
III) Opening the phone and removing parts is a pain in the ***. You're brest served using...
- The thick long prying tool and the thick plectrum for opening the housing.
- The thick long prying tool to remove the the PCB frame.
- The slim long prying tool for removing the speaker from the old housing without damage (don't use a screwdriver or so)
- The slim long prying tool for removing/replacing the battery pole rubber cover and the mic rubber grommet.
- The slim plectrum to slide it under the battery and losen it before even thinking about pulling the "battery removal" grip.
- The slim plectrum or the slim prying tool for losening sensitive parts of the housing (e.g. sim door)
Generally, opening/removing parts is a hassle but if you take your time and exercise medium caution, you won't damage anything of value.
IV) CRS delivers (or at least did in my case) only 1 piece of double sided adhesive to stick the back side of the new battery, while the original battery has adhesive on BOTH sides.
V) Test run your device after you inserted the new battery (and secured its screws). If everything runs ok, then proceed to snap on the black housing frame and the back cover.
VI) Make sure the housing frame and back cover snap on tightly (=correctly) at every single spot, ESPECIALLY at the SIM card door.
I recommend starting to snap on the back cover exactly at that spot, making sure that the thin lower frame part of the SIM card door snaps on tightly. If you mess up that spot, you might be unable to correct it without re-removing the entire back door.
That should be sufficient for now...
Oh BTW:
The back door cover delivered by CRS has a fat "4G Verizon" writing on it. Live with it -.-

former atrix2 owner looking at battery/case options

Yes I did search but most threads actually lead me to things I''ve already accomplished with previous phones.
Hello guys
I have a One X + and you're probably familiar with its battery life and the options for fixing it.
My plan is to do something similar to what I did with my Atrix2.
I cut the battery cover and the back of the otter box to allow a larger aftermarket battery. The outer rubber shell made this a very stealthy mod. My plan now is to achieve a similar outcome. My service is spotty right now so please forgive me for not posting any links or references.
You may be wondering why I won't just buy a case that uses the charging pin system. The reason for this is that in my line of work, mild splash resistance and good shock resistance is a must. The mugen actually appears to make the phone less durable overall . Ouch.
imagine you were to take a small rechargable battery and stick it to the back of your phone. The only issues now are finding a 90° micro usb cord and plugging it in and cutting a case to fit the battery behind it's outer rubber shell. You may think I would be better off with an otterbox and a flashlight/ powerdock. This is a great idea and I may buy one but this phone, like all very skinny phones, tends to cramp up my hand when typing, like now.
Actual question
If a battery was added (something along the lines of a small credit card shaped 2000mah battery) and the heat from it didn't get too dangerous for the phone (big "if) , would I not be actually ADDING to the life of the phone by primarily draining the battery pack and leaving it on full time? The phone would essentially be charging all of the time so it may actually be worse...
I'm going to move forward soon but I would love to get some input before I do from someone who knows a bit about batteries. The heat may force me to go with someting fully external but we'll see. The current trend of slim smart phones makes me think any batteries I buy that I don't use now will eventually be useful :/.
Thanks for reading all of that!!!
Onyx
second thoughts
I think, after much consideration, I have decided to purchase the toughest case I can find with a solid or partially solid back. I will then go the route of Velcro to attach a small to medium sided external battery to the back of the case. I've found enough rubber plugs and the like that I can splash proof a power pack pretty well. Also, I just dont think it's worth it to cut, pry and modify when in the end , the phone will still be charging instead of accurately reading battery drain.

Folio case where inner shell is detachable?

When you go out you need your credit cards in your case.
When you're at home, you only need a plastic shell case for protection. Who uses credit cards around the house?
Does anyone know of a credit card folio case like the one below, where that inner plastic part is simply detachable? Could use magnets or a clip.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R5B7ENS/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_jXhrvb12T7388
If not I'm patenting it today. (Serious.)
Thanks!

I can't imagine anything like that being very reliable even if one WAS made. Clips have a tendency to either break or wear out over a (sometimes short) time.... and magnets... aside from needing to have probably multiple very strong magnets to hold the phone in place securely without risking the idea of the phone somehow falling out of the case when you're trying to open it or something, they aren't the greatest if you might want some accuracy when using your phone for navigation.
Never seen one and have always used a wallet case. If you create wallet/bumper one, then we can test it...

Spigen Slim Armor View cases' have a nice detachable flap, although they obviously only make them for Samsung phones. It clips in between the plastic and TPU layers of the back case. So it's easy to remove but won't come out with the phone in the case.
Unfortunately for the OP though I don't believe a case like this exists for the N6.
Unfortunately the Spigen case you reference doesn't have a credit card feature.
Thanks!
