Hi I'm fairly new to the rooting scene but i have rooted a Samsung device in the past and installed cyanogen.
I have done a lot of searching online and on XDA Forums. I cant find much info about rooting this tablet. It comes from Argos in Ireland and the UK. I think it is fairly new and it is inexpensive. From searching on here actually, i gather the Argos Bush tablets are rebranded Archos tablets. a google search will come up with oneclickroot but they dont support this device.
I had been directed to ask for help here by a Recognised Contributor in XDA Assist forum
its running android 5.0.1.
Is there any other info you need?
Many thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

The reason i want to root is that it looks like i got some malware. BroService and Linervice.
They can be uninstalled but reinstall themselves fairly quickly. AVG recognises BroService as harmful and promts to uninstall but thinks the other one is safe. When installed they serve pop up adds that sit on the right hand bottom corner.
They arent on the tablet after a factory reset but they do arrive again eventually. I had been very careful whith what apps i installed since i noticed them and tried the factory reset to get rid.
A friend has the same tablet and he has them to. I know 2 others with the smaller 8" version and they also have them so im thinking it comes on the tablet. The strange thing is none of us had it at first, it only showed up later. For me i had 3 weeks without them the first time, last time maybe a week and this time they are not back yet since the factory reset a few days ago.
Hi did you ever get this sorted out? I have an archos tablet and it came with the same malware.

Hey everyone, I’m not sure what Android Tablet Device I bought other than the name on the box and I’m not even sure that’s correct, so I’m not really sure where to even post my issue so please go easy on me if this is in the wrong place and I have broken any rules.
About 1 year ago this month I bought a tablet from an online vendor. At first everything seemed ok, but it didn’t take too long before ugly issues started to show up. The first thing that was happening was the tablet would hang at boot up. If that was not bad enough, when it did make it to the “desktop” I would be scared to touch an icon because that may also freeze the OS up. Well now things have gotten worse than I could even imagine! The tablet will no longer boot, I do get power, but it won’t boot and I don’t know what to do
The box says it’s a 7" Google Android 2.0 APAD MID Tablet PC from China. I’m almost 100% sure it shipped with Android 1.6 even though the box says 2.0.
What I wanted to ask was, are there ways to find out what’s going on? Are there tools I could use to help me know what I need to do to get this thing booting again?
I Found a YouTube video and it has the exact box I have and the tablet looks exactly the same, and near the end of the video you can see its running 1.6 firmware, this IS exactly my same tablet. But due to forum rules I can't post the link until I make 8 posts, wish I could share this video with you all though, i know it would help a great deal.
Thank You all for reading and I hope to hear some good news soon!!!!
Whoa, 1.6? That's ancient, It might be more worthwhile to chuck it and get something that is higher quality. At least a G tablet.
Thanks for the post! Well I don't need a newer tablet, I used this one to read PDF books and go online. If I can fix this one, then i'll save over $100 from getting a new eReader or tablet device. I'll leave that as a last resort.
Having said that, I have done more research about the device and I think what I have is a flytouch 1 or a knockoff. What gave it away to me is how my device will vibrate when I turn it on. I started to research and found out it needs firmware for WM8505. I would still like to know though if there is software to help me with the boot loader. Like can I find software and install it to my pc, then hook a cable to my tablet and plug it into my pc and see inside the tablet to figure out whats going on.
Thanks!!!
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Still no luck for me and my issue. If anyone knows of away to mess with the boot loader to get this going, pleeeease post. Thank!!
Hi there! As you can probably tell, I'm new to the forums here, so hopefully I'm posting this in the right place, and there isn't already something like this out there (I searched for stuff like this, but couldn't really find any good, useful information).
Anyways, I just recently picked up a Mach Speed Trio Stealth Lite (4.3" tablet) from Best Buy. After attempting to install AOKP on it (it was pre-rooted), the install said it failed because it could not install Busybox or something like that, and upon attempting to restart it to see if it had installed or not, it got bricked. So, I went back to Best Buy and, using my Geek Squad Protection Plan, got a replacement. However, the replacement is much different. While the first one I got came pre-rooted, this one is not rooted (as far as I can tell; the file manager that came on it says it doesn't have root, and the kernel doesn't say root anywhere). Additionally, the replacement feels much slower, has a newer version of ICS, and (apparently) the model of the device is used very commonly in Chinese tablets (gs701b), along with the kernel version (3.0.8).
My question is: How, if at all, could I go about rooting this thing, and installing AOKP (or, if possible, Cyanogenmod 10/10.1 for the JB) on it? And even if I can't root it, would it be possible to at least install the GApps bundle for ICS on it, so I can get some of the apps that the manufacturer's image is missing (the gallery, the modern Google search, Play Store, etc.)? The recovery mode lets you wipe data and install an update, but I have no clue how it works (it's not like CWM Recovery where you choose the update zip).
And for the record, I have looked up how to root a gs701b tablet, but none of the instructions really applied to me, or they didn't work (out of the few there were on the Web).
Thanks!!
Don't know if this helps, but...
I picked one up over Memorial Day weekend and for me personally the only thing that was missing was the Play Store, Chrome, and Google Music. I thought about rooting, but given the fact that I did Geek Squad Protection, Accidental on a portable device (extremely low cost since it under $50 over the weekend), concerned me if it would void the coverage, so I looked to see if I could get PS on the device w/out rooting and I found a YouTube vid by jon doe with a Google search for Trio Stealth Lite 4.3+Google Play Store. My comment is the most recent and I really am grateful. I've rooted before, HP Touchpad from CM9 to CM10, so it's not that I'm scared to do it, but for a $50 device, the easier I can do it, the better. I'll let you decide for yourself, just hoping that helps.
I just want to start off by saying that I don't know too much about rooting or much of Android/Amazon OS in general. I have had my (Apollo) Fire HDX 8.9" since March 2, 2013. I have side-loaded apps and I am just a typical user. I know how to modify applications and such, so I know a bit but probably not as much as I should. I'm up-to-date with a lot of tech, but not all the rooting stuff. Anyway... Last night (November 25, 2015) I decided that I wanted to root. I started by finding some important info, specifically from this forum. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/general/rollback-13-3-2-8-rollback-ota-captured-t3046204) So being as lazy as I am I did as much as I could without my computer and got 14.3.2.8 up and running over night. When I woke up I started the setup and enabled the wifi just quick enough to get ES File Manager. I got it installed successfully with no problems and turned off the wifi. After that I didn't really understand the OTA thing and TBH I still don't. I am assuming that is what updates my Kindle automatically. Anyway I just ignored that and moved on to my next step, installing 14.4.5.2. (Which I did on my computer.) After realizing my internet was really slow I decided to go reset the modem. Doing this messed up the modem and it kept going into "Limited mode". I had an idea that it could just be my Ethernet cable so to check that I turned my Kindle's wifi to see if I could connect through wireless. It still didn't work so I just decided to get ready for the day. This was around 11 AM (MST)(Thanksgiving 2015). When I am all done getting ready I go check my computer to see if my wifi is working, and it was finally working. So I go grab my Kindle, but now it wont turn on at all. I am assuming that this is a hard brick. I am still on 14.3.2.8 (I'm guessing that there is still stuff on my Kindle) and have no root and never did turn on developer options. When I connect it to my computer it takes a second and then say that it is unrecognizable. I am aware of "Restore2Stock", but I want to know if there are any other options. I don't want to spend $20 on a service that I don't necessarily trust. Anyone able to help???

As you probably realize your device is toast. Leaving WiFi enabled resulted in receiving an incompatible OTA (over the air) update from Amazon. There is no recovery.

So is there anything that I can do with my $300 tablet now called a brick? Can I call support and see of they can do something? I'm sad and I realize that it is my fault but I'm pretty over the top that my tablet now has a worth of a dime. I would expect there to be some sort of company that would buy my "brick". Like a junkyard for disfunctional devices. My guess it that there is not a single thing in the entire world that can fix this.

Check eBay or similar auction sites to get an idea what your device is worth (very little) in its current state. To my knowledge there is no company that refurbishes bricked Kindles (at least HDX models) and no one on XDA has figured out how to resurrect crippled devices. Sorry for your loss.

I just replaced the motherboard in mine. The 16gb board I bought was $36
I just ordered a daughter board also. I must have damaged it also when I was messing with it.
I took the daughterboard out of my wife's to test just to make sure.
Daughterboard was $14
Bought both from ifixit but they are out of motherboards.
Google them and you should be able to find one.
Be patient removing the display from the back frame.
Just posted a thread with a link for motherboards.

Good stuff! Offers some hope for those with bricked devices (especially pricey Apollo/Saturns) and moderate skills in electronics disassembly/repair. At present there are few viable alternatives to the outstanding display and unique form factor of the HDX line. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, My very first post and I am asking for help (sorry),
My 17 year old daughter bought me a Anson 7" 3G IPS screen Phablet / Tablet PC for my Christmas present just gone, All was going well with this tablet phone until recently when every day a new app is installing itself without me knowing, So my daughter said install and run malware bytes, Which I did and it found 7 threats it got rid of 5 by prompting me to uninstall the apps, The apps that was preloaded and come back when you do a factory reset but two still remain and cannot be got rid of, I have rooted the tablet with Kingo so that I can use Link2SD (which kind of works) Anyway that another story.
The two are:-
Android/Trojan.Downloader.Agent.ea
/system/app/service.akp
and :-
Android/Trojan.Gedma.rp
/system/app/SmsReg.akp
I've typed them out as they look on the Malware Bytes screen shot I took in hope someone will help me get rid of these threats
If I left anything out just let me know and sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place
Rob
Anyone ?
This is standard with China based devices. Nothing you can do about it really.
Anti virus apps are really pointless as none of them are made to really work with Linux and android.
Ok so here is my problem...I have an Acer DA220HQL AIO Desktop running Android OS. It was mine at one time, but after six months and having changed hands numerous times, no one now knows the user password. I have done about a week solid of research, and either i'm to dumb to find it or there is very little out there about how to do a hard reset and wipe it clean. The closest I have come to anything is getting ahold of Acer support, but since this item is out of warranty they require me to pay for it. Can anyone offer any help?
