Hi
After last update on OPX, we are able to store apps on SD card.
However, I noticed that after moving all moveable apps to SD card, when I update any of them through play store, these apps are moved back to internal staorage !!!!
Is this common issue for any of you guys? Or could it be related to my specific SD card?
I own a Samsung Tab S and I am using an external SD card to store apps and none of them are moving back to internal storagfe after update.
Thanks,
To be sure :
You are on 2.1.3-X ?
I've heard that some had the shorcuts dissapearing from homescreen afgter reboot. Didn't know about that.
You should reflash the complete 2.1.3-X zip to be sure.

Happens with me..i can confirm this..once u update app which is moved to sd card it gets again in phone storage..u have to move it again
It did happened to me as well. All I did was set the installation path to SD card using link2sd app and everything is fine and all newly installed apps are stored in my SD now
Same behavior here. I have an Xperia Z2 tablet and the apps are moving back also.

Some apps seem to install to internal memory by default, and some to sd card if one is present.
Even more annoyingly however, many of the apps that default to SD card if you move them to internal memory MOVE BACK TO THE SD CARD when you update them.
Is there any way to prevent apps from automatically installing to the SD card? Or at the very least, installing to SD card is fine... but to prevent them from moving BACK to the sd card when you update them?
I've seen this question in 3 different topics on XDA and none of them is answered. My question is similar to this; Apps are installed on internal memory but app data is on external. As a result i have a completely empty internal memory and a full sd card. Tried possible suggestions on other sites but didn't work. Why can't we choose where to install the app data? How to move the app data back, since app2sd wouldn't work on this situation.
FYI, buy a bigger memory card is NOT a solution, it's a workaround for the actual problem..

Looks like your problem can be solved with "link2sd" which gives a permanent option on where to install apps. Search it in Google Play.
In my case (i have three different memory blocks) you have to do a repartition and a custom rom but i don't want to go there so i just mapped the drives with editing vold.fstab and bought a bigger memory card
Hello guys. I recently discovered that i cannot transferred any of my apps to sd card.
I have even downloaded app2sd app but that says the device does not have a real primary external storage. But i have inserted the sd card.
Any idea ? Any help will be appreciated

I started a thread back in May when i got the phone. Since in SIII they have one partition now for all apps the app2sd is not required. If you see you'll have one huge SD space 11.gb available for all apps and that's the SD card so you dont need or can't use app2SD.
But I have already used the SD card (phone's) 's 3.4 GB solely for Apps. Now I want to transfer the bulky apps to the "real" microSD card. I hope It was possible...
you can use the app from google play; gl to sd!
it's working great but you need to have ROOT
I just recently rooted my L9 (finally been wanting to do it since I got it) and the main reason I did this was so that I could move system apps to the SD card to I could download large games. Is there a way to directly download from Play Store to SD card or do I have to go through the SD card? Also what apps would be good for this? I'm currently using this file manager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm. Can I do it with this app or is there another I have to get?
Try using Link2SD, I remember that there is an option to install apps on sd automatically, and you can delete, move or freeze apps
Hi, i have a problem, when i go to the app Menu i can't see the SD card and i don't know how to move my applications to SD card, it's a problem of the MIUI or the SD isn't good for this device? ( i can access to the SD to listen music and see my photos)

Hello XDA.
This is my first time to come here and register, i heared that XDA is the best android developers website so i came here to request your help.
Lately i bought Lenovo Vibe S1 that comes with 2 Nano-Sim slots but if i'm going to insert a SD Card then there are 1 Nano-Sim slot.
I have a 4GB SD Card. I inserted it to the phone. The problem here that when i copy/move files to the SD Card it doesn't show in the apps. Like, moving Photos from internal storage to SD Card it doesn't appear in gallery. Same as songs, when i move them from internal storage to SD Card they doesn't show up in 3rd music player apps. Unless i unmount the SD Card from the settings and remount it. But it is a pain to unmount and remount when i move anything to the SD Card.
So, any help to fix this?
PS: I don't want to root, flash or install ROMs to my device.
Thank you for taking your time by reading my thread.
I started a Thread before but it was in the wrong section.
Brother what Android OS has your phone? If it is higher than 5.0 backup your files on the Sd Card and then format your Card in your Phone. After that put the files back on the Sd card. This worked for me on Android 5.1.1.

It is 5.0. Anyways, i will try your method and inform you if it worked. Thank you.
I did the method. It worked in Gallery while moving the photos from Internal Storage to SD Card it appears in gallery. But in ****ing music app it doesn't appear.
Which music app are you using? There is sometimes an issue with apps that don't use the sd-card an option called ".nomedia" filter or something like that is checked. Try to find it in your app and uncheck it. I hope that will work.

I use MusiXMatch. And i check my music in Google Play Music to check that it is not MusiXMatch's problem but the same thing. My music aren't in .nomedia. When i unmount the SD Card and mount it again i see the songs.
