How Do I Restore Android Tablet's Performance? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone.
So I made a mistake of buying Chinese tablet a few years ago rather than adding another $50 and getting ASUS Transformer TF300 which was a beast at that time. The tablet is Rockchip RK3188 based called PIPO M9 Max with 16GB NAND and 2GB RAM with Android custom ROM 4.2.2 installed.
After a few updates of custom rom I noticed that after a month or two it gets very slow and laggy to the point that you can only use it to read a book. I mean even touch on navigating to different website takes 5 seconds for it to respond! Could it be problem with TRIM or something? I don't know if any updated custom rom exists for it but would appreciate your opinion on what to do with tablet?
Thanks

I don't think so. It's one of those obscure tablets that no one has really heard about. It has a unique processor b/c it's custom made by that company and dont't think anybody has worked on it.
If you are looking for a good, rooting tablet, try the Nexus 7.
Thanks for the advice. I only got this to kind of introduce me to the Tablet world. The Nexus 7 is definitely on my top must have

There might be a way to do it. I know my friend got a cheap $80 tablet off of Amazon that just said Google on the back. It had no brand name what so ever on it. It turned out to be a wondermedia wm 8600 or something like that running some hacked gingerbread version with a fake market. It had an old touch screen, not even capacitive. I found a tool designed to root it and put official market on it and everything, and it worked for like 50 different models that were similar. It didn't make it great, but it worked better and at least had the official market. Maybe there is something like that for yours.
I can't think of the name of the program, but try looking at your model number info and try searching for that specific on Google. You never know what you might find.

[Q] Best android tablet to duel boot with linux

Hi guys iv been a long time lurker on this forum using it to gather information about rooting different phones and such,
I'm currently in the market place for a new tablet its going to be android as im so used to the OS for everyday use, but what i realy want is the ability to duel boot it with a linux OS, ether debian of ubuntu, i'm not new to installing roms or rooting but normally i buy first then find out what i can play with after, but this time round i want to buy the technology to meet my needs.
basicaly what im asking is what tablets do you have and what linux are you running also how does it run ? is it smooth or very slow ? does the wifi, bluetooth, and usb slots work ok ?what in you opinion is the best 10 inch tablet out there for me to run a linux os on ?
i whant to spend around £250 on the tablet but cheaper is always better providing it still does the job, for example i saw an archos g9 101 turbo at HMV for 150 quid and for the spec that seems very cheap, iv read on hear about people running ubuintu on this tablet, anyone got any comments about it.
i know theres a lot of questions but if anyone has any info or links they would like to share with me feel free
Cheers Guys

[Q] Do you recommend: Acer Iconia A1-810 ??

Hello,
I was about to buy this tablet:
Ainol Novo 10 Hero 2
http://www.pandawill.com/ainol-novo...-screen-101-inch-16gb-dual-camera-p70835.html
But I found this one:
Acer Iconia A1-810
Is really the Acer better?
I heard a lot about it, found the problem with its speakers (very low), you can't root it (some people tried but I read that they didn't succeed) and apps can't be moved to SD card.............
I don't know much about rooting (I haven't used any android device yet) but I think it's important
Does it have other problems? I don't want to regret buying it...
What do you recommend for me?
Note: About the specs of both devices, I don't have a problem
I'm asking about the software part (lags, developers' custom ROMS, etc....)

The Acer A1-810 is a great tablet - nice size, quad-core performance, the screen is acceptable and it's priced similar to the so-called "value" Chinese tablets on eBay. After owning an Ainol tablet myself, the Acer A1-810 felt like I was moving to a proper, real Android tablet. Build quality and reliability becomes immediately apparent.
Having said that, you want have much success with rooting and loading any custom ROMs. Acer won't unlock the bootloader and the MediaTek SoC chipset is well and truly locked down.
And now, 9 months later, Acer have released the A1-830 - almost the same specs including the screen, but with an Intel chipset I think. However it's still on Jellybean 4.2, which amazes me (where's KitKat?!)
So I expect I will be stuck with Jellybean 4.2.2 for the life of my A1-810 tablet. Which is okay if you're happy to just use the tablet for what it can do: consume media content, play games, surf the net, social media. It does all of this really well.
But as for any software upgrades? Looks like it ain't gonna happen.

Anoc 7inch tablet wifi problems

Hello all. I've got a couple tablets for my kids for Xmas.
Anoc 7inch (Allwinner A33 Upto 1.2Ghz Quad Core)
512Mb RAM
Android 4.4.2
Model A7N15Q
Tablet works and connects to my wifi. but after a couple minutes (varies the time it happens) wifi stop working and it's marked off. Only rebooting the tablet makes it back on.
After googling/digging and whatnots, the best advice I've got was that the firmware might be broken and the best way would be to reflash it. Problem is that I can't find the stock ROM anywhere. Also can't really find a generic one. Or maybe I'm just a clueless newb and not looking in the right place.
I was able to get my adb talking to it and I can make it reboot the tablet from my pc. I was able to root it without any problem. But was really trying to make it work. Any advice?
Thank you mates.

What to do with an old noname tablet

Hello, dear community,
I have a question about what I should do with an old Tablet. (It is an "Exagerate XZPAD970H" (hamletcom.com)).
Android 4.0.4 is installed.
There is no manufacturer ROM available, at least I didn't find one.
Now, most of newer apps don't work on it, but the tablet itself works fine, though slowly.
Now ist my question: Is it worth to investagte something and trying to update the table or is it better to put it away?
Greetings and thanks,
Florian

Put it into electronic waste: 1 GB RAM, 4 GB max storage, 1.5 GHz CPU ...
