Sorry if I'm rude, but I'm sick and tired of people clogging up the forums because they did something they weren't supposed to do. THERE IS NO ROOT METHOD FOR THE S6 EDGE PLUS! There is no firmware you can download to my knowledge, so you might be screwed, I'm afraid... Also, if KNOX detects that you made changes to the /system partition (most likely what happened here) it will brick your device and there's no way you can fix it. You have to pay for a full replacement ($650 I believe). Let this be your lesson. Only do something to your device if:
1. It's ment for your device
2. It's been proven to work
Once again, sorry if I'm being really rude and unhelpful right now, but, as I said above, there is no root method and I'm sick and tired of people who think they know what they're doing but really don't and then they come crying to us asking to magically fix their device.
Sincerely,
Nick

Yes you are rude and a jerk. And you should be banned from this site. I was about to ask a question, related to this post, but I quit. You did mistakes, you did something you shouldn't do and you did get help from others, I'm 100% sure. But you seems to forgot that, and you get sick of people who needs help. You should see a doctor and get better, if you are so sick. I'm leaving this site, it seems that people who made a mistakes can't fit in. THIS SITE IS POPULATED ONLY BY MASTERS. So, **** off MASTER!

I'm sorry for exercising my first amendment right. You can't ban me for that. Also, I kind of answered this person's question. Here's what I basically said without the ranty parts:
1. There's no way to root this device
2. There's no firmware (at least for the Verizon variant) for this phone.
3. KNOX may have bricked his/her device due to the modification of the /system partition.
1 is the reason, 2 is the answer, and 3 is the explanation. The 3 parts of conducting an effective answer to a question.
OP, your best bet is to try to call Samsung or Verizon and try to lie your way into getting a free replacement. I did that for when I accidentally wiped my entire internal storage on a Kindle Fire 2nd gen. All I said is it all of a sudden started doing what problem I was having, and they said they would send out a free replacement.
Best of luck,
Nick

I have to agree its all over this board that there is no root for this phone as of right now. It should be obviously clear when you go in to the development section and its blank. Just because one carrier has a phone that's rootable doesn't mean the root works on other devices carriers.

This is exactly what I was trying to say. We can all hope that there will be a root method soon, but for now, don't go doing something that you aren't supposed to do to your certain phone yet.

Rooted it, and Wifi broke. I was told it's unfixable, any help?

So... I rooted My Att Galaxy SII. But... this jerk who made the video forgot to say NOT to use it if you have the latest version. (Which is just dumb)
So my wifi is broke, can't be turned on for more than a few seconds.
Crap.
Now what do I do? Factory resetting is out of the question as I've spent far too many hours customizing this bad boy to loose it all because some fool didn't think about warning anyone. :/
Oh great xda dudes. Lend me your brains

Wrong forum for ATT Galaxy S2.
#1, you're in the wrong galaxy s2 forum. There's one for the the skyrocket and one for the hspa version. If you flash a kernel from the correct version I believe you should be OK. No guarantees though

Whoops, Yeah just noticed that. Sorry guys XD
So...just flash the normal kernel the same way I did the rooted one? Ugh, Backing up just in case. Man this is annoying. I wish he would of put a warning :/
Flashed to Stock Kernal, Wifi is still broke. ****. So is my phone useless now? :[
Um maybe do some more research before you root. Its not "this guys" fault you phones useless, you have no one to blame but yourself
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
If a Rooting Process will cause issues on a specific version. THAT needs to be stated in the information. Even if I was an expert I would not of know because it said nothing referring to versions or cautions.
That's like saying it's the users fault if he tried a custom rom damaging said device, because the creator of the rom didn't post information that he knew.
Tis all I am saying
FWIW all the modifications are done at user's discretion so it's never anyone's fault but yourself unless you get someone else to do it.
On topic though, try flashing a full firmware from ODIN which includes the modem, pda and csc files. Don't forget though that you should get this file from the right forum, or else you'll be stuck with a non working phone period.
Also, really, a valid question is, where did you get the rooting method you were trying to use? After all, you DID post this very post asking for help with your SGH-I777 in the i9100 forums. So if you got the method from a forum meant for a device that isn't yours, can you really legitimately blame the poster, just because you used it on YOUR device? I don't think that's fair.
EDIT: or do you have a Skyrocket, which is an SGH-I727?
I'm saying, if I myself, was posting information or a Rom/Kernel, if I know it doesn't work with a specific version of a device, and that users should NOT use it. It is my responsibility to tell them first as a warning, that's all I am saying.
And what I'm saying, is if you got the method from a forum meant for i9100 phones, and NOT for ATT Galaxy S2 (which is the SGH-I777), how is that the other guy's fault that you used something not meant for your phone, just because you happened to find the information? C'mon, man. Take some responsibility.
Couldn't you just get titanium backup then back up everything? Then unroot to 2.3.4 the root your phone so wifi works then restore with titanium backup. I did something very similar to this to fix my phone and I've had a couple problems restoring but that's probably just cause I am a newb. Overall it worked pretty good though.
Something is wrong at the kernel level. Titanium backup won't help.
Um, no.
Your phone = your responsibility. Bottom line. Nothing else is relevant.

Sticky Request i777 =/= skyrocket

I would just like to request that a sticky be made or a warning be added to the main stickies in the original and ported development forums to warn users that the i777 Galaxy S II 4G is not the i727 Galaxy SII Skyrocket. It seems really easy for myself as well as others to confuse the two.
I bricked my friends Skyrocket after flashing a ROM from the ported development thread as others have also done. Here is the post from the skyrocket forum.
lynyrd65 said:
So, I made the stupidest mistake ever flashing a rom. My friend comes over and tells me his phone is slow and acts funny. He says that he wants a new Rom which is more user friendly (if there is one). So, I've already flashed a ROM on his phone before so it already had CWM recovery installed. I decide to try MIUI on the phone.
The first thing I do, which is what I always DID (and unless I get lazy will never do again) is open up google and type "XDA AT&T Galaxy S II", fairly harmless, I though but it turned out to be a fatal mistake. I search the forums, see buzz about ICS leaks and figure I'm in the right place then I see a section called ported development. I go there and see MIUIandroid for Galaxy SII right off the bat and download it without a second thought. This may seem obviously wrong to you all but being that I am a Nexus S 4G user, I am unaccustomed to the numeration of the model number, I thought i777 sounded correct.
I boot into recovery then proceed to back-up the phone, wipe data, cache, dalvik, and finally system like always then flash the rom. It flashed just fine then I returned to the recovery screen and tapped reboot system.
It never turned back on. No matter what I did to try to get a response (two buttons then plug in usb to get ODIN with and without the battery), nothing, no response. I didn't figure out why until I went to find JTAG services and found that the i777 was in fact the older model.
I plan to send it in to be JTAG'ed and buy my friend a Galaxy Nexus. We've been friends for years and he isn't mad at all. I have a job and can afford it (even though it sucks). I figure I owe it to him. However this could have all been avoided if I had paid attention.
In closing, I would first like to suggest some things so maybe some of you learn from my mistakes.
1. As experienced an XDA'er as you may think you are, even you can make (uber) rookie mistakes. Pay attention and work slowly, your wallet will thank you!
2. Never, EVER flash a rom for a friend! The worst things always tend to happen when you are using someone elses stuff! (no idea why, but they do!)

I recognize many will say I didn't pay enough attention and that this is completely my fault. That's true, it is.
However, I think adding a warning wouldn't harm these forums and feel that it would be extremely helpful. Most people are not perfect and small reminders like that could help spare users from making a grave mistake.

Just curious... if you didn't take the time to see if you were in the right forum, would you have REALLY checked the sticky to see if it was the right forum also?
I guess if you say it would help.
I wonder if anyone has ever accidentally flashed a skyrocket rom on a i777?

[Q] Bricking the Note i717

I am really curious about this.Maybe some can help me understand this in somewhat laymen terms. I and somewhat knowledgeable of the Android system. I have a Verizon Fascinate. I have installed the wrong Rom package on it and it was bricked to such a degree that I needed to find the basic Stock package DI01 and flash back to Stock, but it doesn't break the phone like the Note i717. I also have an Xoom. I have also installed something that wasn't correct and it was stuck on the Motorola screen f( I'm guessing bricked ) and again at that point I needed to find the Stock package to flash but the Note was useless after the brick.
I hope someone can help me with this one. I really feel terrible about bricking my Note i717 having to send it to be JTAGged.
What is your question ??
you need JTAG info ??
My question is why is the Note easily bricked and useless after that but the others that I have mentioned above and perhaps other phones, are not so useless after brick.
My son has a Note ii. He bricked his but was able to regain a flash by booting in DL or Recovery mode. I would like to know why is that so. Maybe others out there also would like to know.
That is my query.
Samsung products break when you flash the wrong rom. Its news to me that other devices survive that error.
But for all phones, brick is brick, and that is from incorrect roms. Everything else isn't brick.

Given the fact that you have bricked more than one device, you might want to learn some more about your devices before you keep flashing things onto them...

I don't see much point of this. It's like asking why did my screen break so easily when I hit it with a hammer?

Well I didn't create the thread to be picked apart, I was just curious as to why it was so easy to brick my Note and it be useless as opposed to some kinda of software imposed to help Noters. I am not writing here to be picked apart and I really do not appreciate this kind of action. I am just trying to get information. This is a Question and Answer forum and I was asking a question maybe a stupid question albeit a question to know why it was so easy to brick the Note and render it useless where as other cell phones when flashed with the wrong information can still be put in the DL Mode and flashed Stock
OK... I'll give you an answer. First, what you've experienced with your other devices is not considered as " bricking" them, maybe a " soft brick" but not a real true brick. This term (brick) is being used way too often and improperly. When you flash something like a simple mod incorrectly and it causes bootloops, freezing on boot screen, etc, this is not a brick. If you flash something major like a rom that is not for your device and completely shuts down your phone with no life what so ever, this is a brick. This phone is not any easier to brick than any other phone. Companies can only do so much to keep their users from screwing up their devices. Maybe my previous post was a bit harsh.... But considering the nature of this thread and your op, it's a little hard not to point out the obvious. If you researched properly as directed in just about every thread in xda, you wouldn't be asking the question you're asking because you would not have a bricked phone right now.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I agree with the post above mine ...
Damaging this device is virtually impossible given the JTAG option.
Many other devices do not share that luxury.
The note would then be considered much harder to brick, or at least unbrick after major firmware damage has occured.
And yes, please familiarized yourself with the terms, and read every action 5 times over before Modding a $700.00 device .IMHO ...g
Well my error was not that I didn't read and research. I think my error was that I was trying to flash the "LiquidSmooth" Rom on my note and I was following the instructions that was given specifically for my phone Note i717 and in the instructions there was a dl link for that rom, which I did but it was not from this forum. I think that was my error not as a result of being lazy and wanting something for nothing.
Thanks for the info. I was a bit curious about bricking.
Well, that error has been repeated by several people here recently. The version you downloaded and installed was most likely for the galaxy s3. The one you should have downloaded says "quincy" in the file name.

Your phones forum is really the best place to ask such a specific question. Ranting in the General Discussion/General section will only get you generalities.
good luck with your phone. Ya shulda boughta SONY

Here is a guide I have put together for the VZW Samsung SCH-I605 Galaxy Note II
------------------
This guide contains 5 sections:
Section 1: How to Root/ Return to Stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean coming from any rom with Odin
--------------------
Section 1b: How to return to stock 4.1.1 Jelly Bean coming from any rom with Odin
Step 1: Download and install Odin3 from section 1a if you have not already done so.
Step 2: Download this stock VRALJB image and pit file to a windows based pc.
Folks that have accepted the L4 OTA can not use the VRALJB image at this time...for now use Root66 from section 1a.
Official VRALJB 4.1.1 12/9/12- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040264(This will wipe data and return your device to factory stock like the day you purchased the device. Also Unlocked and Locked devices may use this to return to Factory Stock conditions!)
SCH-I605_16gb.Pit- http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?05cj895zu3tls7z
Step 3: Power device off, hold the volume down/home/power keys until you see a yellow triangle, then press the volume up key to access "odin or download mode".
Step 4: Open Odin and connect the oem usb cable from pc to device. The driver should automatically install( it did for me on windows 7 64bit). There should also be a "comport number" in upper left hand corner of Odin indicating communication between the pc & device.
Step 5: Click on the pit function of Odin and select the sch-i605-16gb.pit file.
Step 6: Click on the PDA function of Odin. Select the stock VRALJB image you downloaded in step 1, then select start. This operation should take less than 8 minutes before Odin will say pass/reset.
Step 7: Your device should boot back up into factory stock 4.1.1 android!

[Q] how to uninstall cyanogenmod 10 from galaxy s2 i777 trackfone/straight talk

ok..so here's the problem i have a Samsung galaxy s2 i777 from track-phone/straight talk (im not sure what it is...) it was sold to me online i reset the whole phone and this cyangenMod thing keeps coming up when it boots up after the factory reset I don't want it on the phone but i have no idea how to uninstall it or get rid of it. i just want to get the phone back to how it came out of the box like a new phone but i'm at a lost i've tried the oden program and the phone wont connect to it. i don't know what files it needs or what i have to do i'm at a complete and total loss...
if someone could help me out with this it would be a REALLY big help to me thank you to anyone who reads this and an even bigger thank you to the person(s) who help.
Why would you want to get rid of CyanogenMod? It's quite possibly the best thing to ever happen to phones.
Especially if you're running cm10.1, it's 4.2.2

There's a thread for the phone you have in this forum; look in the Straight Talk thread and you'll find the help you need.

I want to get rid of it cuz I have no idea what is what it can do or why it's even there I'm not a big fan of mods and if I were to mod anything i would do an extreme amount of research of how to install and uninstall with cm I have no idea what's going on

It's literally two threads down from this one. I'm sure you can find it.

You want to get rid of it? Easy
Option 1: return it to seller, demand s/he send you another one with pure stock firmware on it, not a custom one or request for the refund.
Option 2: reverse back to stock (from CM) yourself. Since you're here, you should have read anyway, so read up those threads especially the stickies and DIY.

The other posters Actually have given you good advice, and it appears that they have pointed you to the place to answer your question! Really!
It sounds like you have a modified Straight Talk phone (please note that the ATT version is I777 and the ST version is S959G. It would be interesting to know whether you have an I777s or S959G).
IF you have an S959G, then your best bet is to check the thread posted down below as Phalanx and the others have mentioned --it's literally below the post you created (several posts below now, just look for the title "Straight Talk SGS2- SGH-S959G" (<- or click on these "straight talk" words)
It may seem frustrating to get a phone that is customized, and right now you just want a phone; However, you actually have one of the nicest and newest roms available for this type of phone!
IF your phone boots CM10.1 and you have the normal android screens, then you have everything that the ST or AT&T company would provide on a "normal" phone, but without some of the junk and advertising that often infects our phones! Try it out! The interface is not that much different from "stock."
Still, if you don't like your phone that way, YOU can fix it and it is not really hard, but just takes some reading and patience to gain understanding of the techniques and processes (learning the principles also is interesting! :laugh
But it will take you at least a few hours of reading, and a bit patience to scan through the Straight Talk links and pages. If you do that you'll see others who have your issue, and also others who turned the issue around to make it a plus!
A modified phone is more of a commitment than a stock phone -but it returns more to the user! Especially if you want to adjust it, enhance it, or appreciate it, you have to put in time.
If that's not for you -perhaps turn it around on ebay. But a working CM10.1 on a Galaxy S2 is a good machine!
Good Luck
Good Luck
