Yehh...nothing ..me to..

Being searching for weeks. Nothing. I also can not find a local guy to replace my digitizer

There is no teardown video for Xperia Z3 tablet compact, just for Z4 its the same you have to heat the front and take off the screen, take care with the screen. I just did it cause my tablet waa dead, disconnect the battery and its working now.

I tried to replaced my Z3 tablet cracked touch digitize but working tablet and ending up with a non functional tablet. It seem impossible to replace just digitize or LCD display, both LCD display and touch digitize glue fused together to keep thin.
Hope that help.
Cheers

[Q] Ooops I physically broke my phone - Anyone help with fixing?

Love my phone but had large phone in small pockets and upshot is it fell out and I accidentally drop kicked it across the room.
The plastic piece under the power and volume buttons broke and created a disconnect with the power (constant restarts and even booted into safe mode) so I had to remove it to stop the plastic from continuing to jam the power button.
I have ordered a replacement front/sides for the phone but searched high and low for a fix-it or tear down video.
Anyone know how I can get the old one off and the new one on?
Any Videos around?
The phone is usable but I would prefer it whole. Can anyone help?
Cheers.

Thank you very much for this manual which assisted me in the teardown of my Z Ultra.
I broke the screen in my pocket, glass and digitizer were broke making the phone useless.
The only thing missing was taking the coverglass/lcd off the frame, seems Sony replaces screen and frame as one unit.
I used one of the various guides for Xperia Z, heat and prying tool, and im now ready to put a new screen in, trying to find the best deal now.

Cracked screen - solution?

Hello people!
I just dropped my phone display first into the floor.
The only visible damage is a tiny arced crack at the right edge of the screen, but that was enough to screw up the whole touch screen because the phone seems to activate touch around the crack, which leads me to my first question:
1 - Is there a way to disable part of the touch screen?
I can live without touch in the area of the damage, just not without any working touch
2 - Is there a way to hardware test using a PC to evaluate the extent of the damage?
3 - Do I buy just the screen, the screen + LCD or screen + LCD + frame?
4 - How do I know which OEM of Ebay to buy? Can I trust the ones saying it's an original Sony Screen + LCD?
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. I do believe there are more people out there with same or very similar questions.

in this case no, Z2 LCD display is seperateed from the glass

Thank you so much for giving me the answer I wanted to hear. Unfortunately I can't find any videos on how to do this for the Z2. Have you done it? I'm curious to know whether the display is allover glued to the digitizer as in the case of the Z1 or if it's just glued around the corners of the screen as in the M2. Mind you that this is simply observations I've made from watching youtube videos, so the above mentioned information might not be correct.
man, u cannot separate the display and digitizer . its a single glass. for Z2. u need to replace the single glass
You could try finding parts from aliexpress, try looking through the feedbacks before ordering.
Or if you are not too bothered by the cracks you could just put on a screen protector or a tempered glass screen protector.
Try going into youtube and search witrigs for teardown and repair videos.
Wish you good luck! ?

Hi guys,
My Screen cracked, i order a new screen. I install it right with instructions. LCD screen works about 1 minutes, but now the phone has so called ghost touches.
What might be a problem? LDC-screen is broken?

Yeah!
I did take a chance and purchased a new glass without display. Good news is I never got an opportunity to use it, so I might be able to return it. Bad new is I'm now buying a front glass and lcd.
Even though it might technically be possible to just exchanging the front screen, I would say it's highly improbable that you will successfully do so.
Judged by my level of technical tinkering, I would say that a vast majority of the people in this forum will probably fail in exchanging front glass without exchanging lcd.
I'm not saying this to put anyone down, but I'm giving you the advice I wish I would've gotten before getting over-confident.
So for goodness sake,
BUY FRONT GLASS+DIGITIZER+LCD, and save yourself both time, headache, and possibly money
Hi, i'm waiting for my Z2 replacement screen and i have a question for those who have changed it, does the sensitivity of the touch screen is the same like the original? I mean the option that you can use the phone with gloves...
Thanks!
How much did it cost u, repairing the screen

[Q] Screen replacement - How to find out if the original Sony screen was used?

Hello everybody!
I bought a used Z2 on Ebay, in which both the back cover and the screen have been replaced. What would be a good way to reliably check if the phone still has the high quality IPS screen?
I have never seen a Z2 live before, so I cannot compare...
Thank you and all the best,

Replace Camera from Zx?

Hello unfortunately I broke my the touchscreen (pressed against a desk while the phone was in my pocket and there it goes...)
I'm about to order a replacement LCD + touchscreen. While dissambly today I've noticed that the camera looks very simmilar in terms of dimensions and connectors to the ones found on the original Xperia Z/Z1 . Which got me wondering whether it would be possible to transplant a 20mpx camera module into the ultra
According to all mighty wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exmor and google, the Ultra has an IMX134 (4,2mm height), The Z is a IMX135 (5,5 mm height) and Z1 is IMX220 (5,8 mm) ...
So if theoretically I manage to stuff the module inside, can I upgrade the camera? Anyone with more Experience of the Sony ROMs, would I need to do a lot of tweaking on the backend? Looking at the guide http://developer.sonymobile.com/kno...ld-aosp-lollipop-for-unlocked-xperia-devices/ and https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/device-sony-togari , there doesn't seem to be much going on in terms of device configuration for the camera....
Ofc, specifications have to be checked and probably it would require some hacking around the camera apk/rom/kernel to get in running, but just from the top of your mind, do you think it's possible? Or if someone has attempted something simillar before? Anyone with more Experience of the Sony ROMs, would I need to do a lot of tweaking on the backend?
Thanks in advance!
Edit:
Last night I couldn't find it, but today I found a similar question, however no steps were taken.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2585918
Replace t4k37 to imx214: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67865839&postcount=5
Thank you remittor, I'll look into it.
I've decided to attempt the mod Today the new module has arrived and I'm waiting for the new LCD/Touchscreen assembly to arrive (which hopefully I won't short like last time >_<).
I went greedy and opted for the IMX220 from a Z1 instead of the IMX135 of Z. The module is way bigger that the original (of course).
Some preliminary observations:
1. The IMX220 connector PCB is wider, although the connector itself looks the same. It seems that it will fit, If I unglue the motherboard from the frame to connect it
2. It's tight, but the IMX220 fits through the PCB hole physically - maybe leftover from originally using a bigger camera module or just luck
3. The NFC plastic/plate will definetly need to be cutted, since the frame/skeleton is shaped precisely for the IMX134
4. The back cover won't fit (naturally). The options are again sawing part of it with the camera module potruding and gluing something on top or 3D printing a back cover with a Samsung style bulge for the module. (I know, I know this would kill a huge part of the aestetics of the phone as well as maybe a bit of the pocket comfort).

Hey man, have you succeeded with that modification? I get the same case right now! I wonder if it is possible for Xperia z to recognize the imx220? Cuz it fits tight, but camera doesnt work and i dunno the next steps, first link is too old and doesnt work anymore.

Resistors numbers

Two days ago i dropped my phone
The lcd gone weird then its all black after a while so i went for lcd replacement
The telephone is working but no touch or lcd
What i actually found that due to compact i lost all resistors above the lcd flat cable " above the connectors" about 5 of them
So if can anyone give me either schematic map for the motherboard or a clear photo of this part so i can replace them
And yes i have lots of motherboards that i can find these tiny components all i want to find the numbers or the color of it
Thanks in advance
Find Xperia M4 Aqua screen replacament and watch carefully
