Anyone found a way to get the messages app and the email app working on the gear s2 while paired with the v10? I am able to respond to text from the notification area or buddies list but i dont have an email or messages app in my app circle. I was told that its only able to use those app on the watch when paired with a samsung device but if there is no way around it i am gonna take the watch back.

U get the notifications and u can see the full msg there as I checked my self with my watch but u can't reply ... I wish it's possible to reply or even connect viber to it... also it give u notifications of all ur social apps on the phone if u r connected to it.. but if u use it as stand alone it will not as they don't have whatsapp for tizen os yet..

Gives a official Whatsapp App and Support for the Gear S, that i can read and send Messages on the Watch?
I can't find Whatsapp for the Gear S.
It allows you to view any new Whatsapp messages received.
It will NOT show any images or media files sent through whatsapp, its text only.
Moreoever, you cannot reply to them.
Having said that - I came across an app called NOTIFICATIONS FOR GEAR S on the galaxy apps store that claims it will allow you to reply, but whenever I do type one and press send, nothing happens.

I can't remember the name, im sure it s in the playstore. Look for gear s apps and keep scrolling down even when the gear specific apps stop as the r other random gear apps further down the list.
You can reply to whatsapp msgs through the gear s . Press the 3 dots bottom corner and thers a option to quick reply or top right ther is a keyboard tab to type ur own reply

On monday I was able to receive notifications for messages. Today I noticed that I didn't receive any messages on my Gear S.
When I check the "notifications" tab on my Gear Manager app, I can't see the "Messages" app in the list.
How can I solve this ?

This happened to me after I set up Milk music. I uninstalled Milk then reset watch and the messages appeared again in notifications. Using restore feature did'nt work, had to setup watch again like new. Everything else I tried wouldn't bring back messages in notifications..
I had to reset as well.
it is a real pain. Samsung should solve this bug...
I'm not sure what happened to mine but late last evening during the course of normal day to day with both my Note 3 and my Gear S, the Gear S decided not to receive text messages any longer. Rebooted both devices, no go. Restored my Gear, no go. This morning I'm in the midst of a full restore from scratch to see if that fixes it. Hmmm.
I'm using the Verizon messages + app. The gear is lighting up with the notification but not vibrating or ringing. It is working for other notifications. Resetting the gear and not restoring didn't fix. Any suggestions?

Since the last Samsung Gear S upgrade a number of months ago, I have had the ability to reply to text messages using the Verizon Message+ App with my Gear S. I could dismiss or reply to my texts until they were read on my phone. Then about 2 weeks ago, I used the stock app to send a text message and I lost the ability to reply. It might be unrelated, but now I can only dismiss. I can reply on all my other apps but not texts with message+. Any ideas? I have uninstalled updates and tried to reset settings. No go. Really want it back. I might reinstall the whole phone unless someone can give a setting to change or another idea.
I have a gear 2 and never got the verizon messages+ app to work with my gear 2 and note 4. Did you every have any luck with that? I really like being able to quick reply on my wrist so I switched to the samsung messages app but definitely prefer the verizon messages+ app. I would like to hear if you found a way to get verizon messages+ working with the quick reply. Love my gear 2 gold with a 12 dollar ebay gold colored metal band. Thanks!
I'm in the same boat people. I have a Gear S and a Note 5 and really badly want to be able to use the Verizon Message+ app on the watch and have them sync up, but as of right now, I can only compose new messages from my watch, but I don't receive the incoming ones, or have any reply ability.
@jedi you say it used to work flawlessly before some update? Any luck talking with Samsung about it? or Verizon?

I have a VZW S4 (stock OC1). I bought a Huawei Watch and a Moto 360 (2015) in the last week to try out.
I'm having trouble with emails and texts. If I receive 2 emails (or texts), on the watch it should show me that I have 2 emails and let me tap into email, show me a short piece of each and let me tap into each one to read it and dismiss it.
What it actually does is only show me the one I received most recently. I can read that one. But, if another one comes in the previous one gets replaced, so I can only ever see the most recent email.
Same for text messages.
On my phone, I am using the stock Email (not Gmail) app and stock Messages app.
Anyone else got the same phone and an Android Wear watch (and using the Email app, not Gmail)? How does it work for you?

I have a car parking meter app on the phone, but it can also register your parking time by text message, problem is that the app do not work on the watch, so I would like to precompose messages and be able to send them from the watch.
