I am curious to see if anyone knows the possibility of simply booting into TWRP on a new T-Mobile V10 (fastboot boot twrp.img, NOT fastboot flash recovery twrp.img) and pulling the STOCK recovery. If anyone knows if it is possible and/or is willing to be a guinea pig to pull stock recovery I am sure it would be helpful to many in the community.

Yeah, I never flashed TWRP, just booted it to flash SU. So, as per your request, I booted it again and did a backup of only recovery. So this should be stock recovery, since I had never flashed TWRP, hopefully? I don't know how to turn it into an img file tho, but you could restore it in TWRP. Hope it helps.

Glad it helped you! I see people asking for the stock recovery, and there is a link to the img file but it might not be working. At least there's this tho
I have TWRP installed and the phone rooted. Half of my screen died (snow white). So I need to return it. Just so I am clear I can do a factory reset then fastboot boot twrp.img and flash this stock zip and the phone will be back to factory for return correct? Or is there something more to do?

No, the file I posted is only to get stock recovery back. I would suggest using this thread to return your Tmo V10 to complete stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3241170
Ok thank you. I figured there was more too it. I actually downloaded the file from that thread awhile back. Much appreciated.

So i have already flashed the CWM recovery onto my Evo 3d, But i have changed my mind and now i want to flash the TWRP recovery. Now i was wondering could i just flash over the CWM recovery with the TWRP recovery or would i have to remove the CWM recovery first? If so how do i remove it. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I had CWM first, and just flashed TWRP right over it. No issues at all

So it's not gonna brick my phone or anything when i flash right over?

Nope. It will just write the new recovery right over the old one. On my Evo 4G I never had to erase recovery before flashing a new one. I switched between CWM and Amon Ra a couple times. I believe if you did want to erase it though, it can be done in fastboot. 'fastboot erase recovery'. There should be no need for that though. I'm not sure if that command works for us, but it did with the Evo 4G
So like you guys said i flashed the recovery over CWM and it worked perfectly. I only have one more question though...Where is the backup option on TWRP?
EDIT: Nevermind i found it i didn't know what they ment by "Backup partions"
I am unable to do this? I get a 736 error no matter if I try it in MAGLDR113 or CWR recovery. same thing. This happened before and i don't remember how I got it to work.
I am stuck in a CWM bootloop. I can install rom and backup from CWM but it just boots back to CWM. If i try to get to bootloader for fastboot mode I get put right back to CWM. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Ah, that thread worked for me too! I didn't realize I could still issue ADB commands while it was booted to CWM. "adb reboot bootloader" was exactly what I needed!
So a few days ago I got completely fed up with the stock rom and wanted to try out cyanogenmod on my HTC One X+ (the international version). I've unlocked the bootloader, rooted and have replaced the recovery with twrp v2.8.7.0. All was going well until I wiped everything (which included the os), so now I'm stuck without one. Cleverly, I made no backup to restore to. Using fastboot and adb, I've been pushing various roms and attempting to install them; the installs are apparently successful but when I try to launch the system I'm stuck on the spinning cyanogenmod logo. This seems to be a pretty common problem among everybody using custom roms and the fix for this seems to always be go and factory reset the device, wipe things etc, which I have been doing anyway each time before installing a rom. I've been doing this in circles for the last day and a half, is anybody able to help?

Thanks for this, it seems most of the guides I've been using skip this stage. The phone was working like a charm with cm10 but I was prompted to update, and now I'm stuck on the spinning boot logo again. What should I do?

Just grab the rom from here : https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=enrc2b
And flash the boot.img manually
Hello, I saw that the LG F60 had an update released. So I went along and installed it. After it finished installing it rebooted and it went straight to my twrp (TeamWin) and it started to flash a file. I have no idea what that file was, but after it flashed the file it rebooted back into twrp. After that happened I tried rebooting but it just kept taking me to the damn twrp.
Any way I can fix this?
Thank you!
Mixing official updates with custom mods never goes well, especially on LGs.
In TWRP, in the Advanced section use the terminal to enter:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
then hit enter and reboot.
If it still fails to boot, then boot to recovery and perform a factory data reset. If it still doesn't boot after that, you will need to flash a rom or go back to stock with the kdz and LG FlashTool.

Hello again, So after a while of having the cm 12.1 rom installed it was starting to lag my phone a lot to the point to where i had to pull the battery out because it would lag the phone so much it would freeze.
So i got tired of it and went back to the stock rom but now i have no service even though my sim card an everything else is fine, also i need to know how to remove my custom recovery (TeamWin) so i can update my phone and not have to go through the stupid recovery brick thing again.
Thank you for reading this!
You might have installed the stock rom for the wrong variant of the F60 as there are many. You'll either need to flash the radio compatible with the stock rom update you have through TWRP or install the whole kdz file via PC and LG Flashtool to resolve your issue.
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/firmware-LG+F60-Tutti-119.html
Lol, i meant to say this happened because of what you told me to do before to unbrick my phone. After i did that emulator thing it took my service away, but for some reason when i installed the Cyanogen Mod 12.1 rom it gave me back my service but now that i went back it still shows no service from before.
And no i did not install the wrong variant because I just know :/.

And what do you mean by "You'll either need to flash the radio compatible with the stock rom update you have through TWRP"?
If you're certain you flashed the right rom, then don't worry about the radio, you'll just want to install the kdz.

So i went into recovery mode and saw that a made a backup from 2014.....yeah i have no idea how i never saw that backup.....i restored it and it fixed all my problems.
Im so sorry for making you waste your time with me.
Thank you!
tried to flash viper, made back up first. restoring gives me error in title. daily/only phone fast responses much appreciated!
Solved! Backup was working. TWRP keeps saying no OS. Used Power + Vol Down to restart and booted into system. Had an issue with the lock screen. Got past that too. TWRP still thinks there's no OS after reflashing TWRP but it's not keeping me stuck in recovery anymore.

I've come across this issue plenty of times. Did TWRP begin to recognize the individual partitions of your OS after backups and can you flash mods and zips normally? Usually this would land you in Bootloop City.

It means you no longer have TWRP custom recovery, but have the useless stock recovery.
You can reinstall TWRP.
