Just to update: I think Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 (lavender, Snapdragon 660, 3/4-32/64/128GB shared mSD, 4000mAh, 6.3" 1080p) might be the best "cheap modern" device for Android 10 / LinOS 17 - at least I do not know of a newer Snapdragon Custom Rom device available for under €150

Hello,
Looking to upgrade my Huawei Ascend P1 come September (A while away I'm aware but I'm pricing around now) and the only devices that have caught my eye are the Nexus, LG G2 and the iPhone 5s. I'm disregarding the iPhone though as out of the 3 devices I'd much prefer Android.
Basically, price won't be an issue as I'll be getting it on contract (They're both £32 a month on Three for the plan I want so it's fine) but I genuinely can't decide between them.
The two devices seem pretty much the same except the LG G2 has a better camera and larger capacity battery so I'm stumped. Any idea which one is better as an all rounder?
ALTERNATIVELY, if anyone has a recommendation of another device feel free to let me know!
Cheers
Nexus 5 for price, LG G2 for performance...
There are many new phones also coming out by September.
Huawei P7
Galaxy S5
LG G2 pro
LG G3
Xaomi Mi3

Hey everyone I let go of my g2 to upgrade for the droid turbo and luckily I won an auction and won the g2 vs980 back. Which roms are the most stable for vs980? Plus what tweaks are compatible with lollipop at the moment?
After flashing the Verizon model GS8 with a Sprint GS8 ROM, will it work on the Sprint network?

You can not flash other provider's firmware on the phone. Won't work.
I have the same question. I'm buying a Verzion S8+ in hope to use with Sprint. I heard it's unlocked. On the other hand, Sprint put S8+ Verizon in the list of eligible phones for it's BYOD plan.
https://www.sprint.com/en/landings/bring-your-own-phone.html
Does it mean we can use Verizon rom directly with Sprint? Will it still support Sprint's Wi-Fi calling?

It will work only if you take it into a Sprint store and have them add the IMEI into their database. (It's a pain in the rear, but that's it, speaking from prior experience adding an IMEI to their database)
Just out the box, it will not work.
Hi guys,
I am looking at getting a new phone and I narrowed it down to those 2 phones: "Motorola Moto G4 Plus or Motorola Moto G5" The reason why I was looking at the Moto G4 Plus and not Moto G5 Plus is because I can get Moto G4 Plus cheaper than the newer model.
My reasearch shows that that the Moto G4 Plus has better spec in most areas (gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8050&idPhone2=8454&idPhone3=8687) but my main concern is that the battery is not removeable and Android 8 won't be supported on Moto G4 Plus.
I have also considered the LG K8 as well but I hear that they have issues with boot loop. I also looked at the Huawei Y7 but I see that that phone won't get Android 8 as well.
Is there any reasons not to get the Moto G4 Plus in general?
Thank you

There's no reason not to buy the G4 plus in general. It's a very good phone for a cheap price and I would buy it again. If you're not sure, there's already a thread to search and ask if you're not sure https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846277
Also the G4 plus will get Android Oreo, that's confirmed by motorola: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-getting-android-o-t3576948
From what phone you are coming to LG G6?
I'm now currently on Huawei P10 and I'm thinking to maybe change to G6. With P10 I'm very satisfied, but I like to change phones.
What is the advantage and disadvantages of LG G6?
Hi. I have lg g6 now for 2 weeks. Before i have huawei P10. P10 its good but Lg g6 its mutch better display(18:9), waterproof and better battery life. Wide angle its super.
No led notification but it have AOD.
From LG V20
Now i have Lg G6 and HTC U11
And i want to change my g6 to a v30
I had a g4 do pretty big step up. Very happy with g6
A Samsung Galaxy S4 which I used until it died.
I'm very happy so far with the G6, though the lack of a front button or notification light is a bit annoying.
iPhone 7 plus. Would go back in an instant of I could.
I had nexus 6p, and I missing stock android
From Moto X Force.
Anyone else coming from Huawei?
I came from the G4, which refused to turn on after a software update, and all of my attempts to fix it failed. Getting this phone was cheaper (with a contract) than getting my G4 repaired. I also had to use my S3 for some time before I decided to purchase my G6.
I came from P10. In my opinion G6 is better.
zuk z1!!!!
From G5
Moto G (1st gen) through Honor 9 (had it for 1 and 1/2 month over 1 month out of it in repair)
Coming from Xperia Z3 Compact, I decided to try something bigger than 4,6 inch and G6 is very cheap in Poland nowadays. It was definitely worth it!
