Removing a ROM's stock GAPPS - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed CM12.1 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 then I tried flashing stock Gapps but I keep getting a warning that the ROM has stock Gapps installed but all I get is the Play Store and Google search. So I want to know how to remove those from the ROM so I can install the stock GAPPS from the cyanogenmod site.

Yes that's what it says and I also want to install Stock GAPPS because they have all the apps that come with a phone and I won't have to download them.

already tried that

Gapps are saved to /system partition. So go to recovery, advanced wipe, and wipe /system.
After that, flash the ROM again and the gapps you want.
Or go to file manager, / folder, system, apps and manually wipe gapps. Perhaps you have to activate root access in the app's settings.
By the way, there's a TWRP lollipop kernel, linked at this post (search for the word "this" :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=61640802
It can be flashed with cyanogen recovery.
Hope this helps.

It's built a bit later, didn't check it really, maybe it cointains more changes. But even now there are few new commits in AOSP, not included yet in any ROM.

Woops! wrong thread
What is the difference between the lollipop binaries and offical binaries? Like functionaily wise
Does this contain SuperSU, or do I need to flash after install?
Whenever I try to flash, it tells me that there is no OS installed when I try to reboot.
NO OS install like another L thread.

Sorry op for posting link
Worked for me. I flashed a factory image of kitkat, then factory reset, then flashed twrp recovery, and then flashed this zip with the gapps for lollipop hosted by cyanogen.
Got root by flashing supersu's modded kernel and then supersu update zip.
All apps were automatically backed up after boot, but there is one strange thing:
Google play keeps telling me Google plus is incompatible. Is this something wrong with the Rom? Or lollipop? Or something else??

Just updated drivers really. There currently aren't any lollipop binaries that are available. Unless you can pull them from the current preview. However, you can use the preview binaries or the 4.4.4 ones until the new ones drop. I used the preview ones, but haven't been able to flash it yet.

thank you for support im now writing on 6.0.1 with gapps slim one worked thank you really much cant tell how im grateful
had the same problem after installing cm13 nightly (1222) - slim latest alpha (1125) fixed some problems, but caused some new ones.
flashed again using slim's latest release (beta 1215), same problems: config assistant crashed.
tried again, this time flashing the mod and gapps right after, no reboot: no good.
I'm using recovery 6.0.4.7 and the device is an S3 international GT-I9300.
haven't tried any of the other gapps because slim did it for me when updating to cm12 about six months ago.
any ideias besides editing the script with notepad++?

Hmm, it's unclear to me now. Will flash the rom and use a custom kernel to be sure. Encryption is not an option for me.
