I've tried to find a satisfactory answer via search and stickies, but I couldn't.
As far as I can see I just need to install a stock asus rom, without any unrooting or anything?
I'm not taking about OTA, I want my phone to be as it was bought.
Currently I'm rooted with twrp recovery.
Zenfone 2 551ML model.
Thanks alot!

You need to flash stock recovery and then flash the stock firmware from the stock recovery ADB.
Stock recovery is a must to flash the stock rom from adb

I just flashed back to stock this morning, and one thing you definitely need is patience! There were a few steps where it seemed like the process had frozen, but I had to wait and it completed.
I was coming from TWRP 2.8.7.6, CM12.1 Unofficial. The steps that I did were:
Update Recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
each command failed with:
FAILED (remote: Permission denied)
but that's ok, they really worked.
Rebooting into recovery gave the dead android with “error”, but manual method one got me into recovery
When you see a dead android bot with an error press and hold power button, then (while holding power button) quickly press Vol up and release and then release power button.
From recovery choose:
apply update from ADB
From PC: adb sideload UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.156-user.zip
It went fairly quickly to 52% and “Updating IFWI” but stuck there for 10 minutes before slowly resuming the % updates.
The whole process took ~20 minutes
From recovery
wipe data/factory reset
This also took a long time… ~ 20 minutes
The whole thing took about an hour, and there were two times that it really seemed stuck, but it was still silently working and finally started to update again and then completed.
Thank you! This should go stickie.

Apparently Honor is not giving away any Bootloader unlocking code for the European version of the phone (PLK-L01).
Someone sent an email asking for his European phone and this is the answer he got back.
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry that there have no bootloader unlock code for PLK-L01 items.
By default , you can do fastboot downloading for some images directly without Unlocking bootloader..
We suggest you'd better not root your device which would avoid the warranty and maybe cause it freeze.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.

Moreover, according to a French website that interviewed Honor CEO (http://www.frandroid.com/marques/honor/306559_honor-pense-avons-reussi-pari-marque-desormais-connue), they're not planning on having any changes on their ROM policy keeping it private and closed as it's been for the Honor 6.
I guess the only way left is to have someone doing the hack on XDA. Knowing that the phone is quite new we just need to wait a bit before someone eventually gets on it =)
That makes me rethink about buying it...
A phone without root le barely useless
Successfully unlocked my PLK-L01 from Germany.

My question is, how can I root now? The guide from piskr I think is only for chinese phones?

I've used the tool to load the latest TWRP on my Honor 6 Plus, which I had updated to EMUI 3.1 (Android 5.1.1).
Exactly the same TWRP was loaded succesfully on a Mate 7 with EMUI 3.1.
So my guess is it will also work on the Honor 7.
From within TWRP recovery you can install the SuperSU.zip
So, who will be the first to try this stuff out?

Weren't you the guy from Germany who unlocked his bootloader?
It's pretty safe flashing the twrp recovery from sideload (with the multitool).
IF (!) you have the original recovery image at hand.
Because when it doesn't boot with twrp you can just get it back into the bootloader and flash stock recovery back.

Yes, that was me.
Than I will have a look after the recovery image, because I don't have it at the moment.
And the phone ist still very new at the German market. So maybe I have to wait for it. Otherwise it would be nice to post a link if someone has found an recovery image.

Going through Honor 6 forums, you will find plenty of methods that will apply for Honor 7.
I've just rooted my Honor 7 PLK-L01 yesterday.
The unlock code was sent to me by support.
I've followed piskr tutorial but I was stuck in a TWRP recovery reboot loop.
You can solve the problem, by flashing back a stock recovery.
I found a stock recovery that worked for me in the link of this tutorial :
http://www.gizdev.com/rooting-huawei-honor-7-unlockbootloader-root-install-twrp-recovery/#
(direct link to the file http://d-h.st/R6lD of this tutorial)
This was not exactly the same "stock recovery" as the one that my phone had but it worked for me.
PS: I've not tested the TWRP recovery provided in this tutorial.

Look over here:

You can flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 with this tool.
If @VirusPlus will take out the errors out of his script
Or put adb.exe, fastboot.exe and TWRP_2.8.7.0.img in the same folder on your computer and run this while having your Honor 7 connected via USB cable and ready in bootloader:
adb kill-server
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery TWRP_2.8.7.0.img
fastboot reboot
adb wait-for-device
adb reboot recovery
fastboot devices

The TWRP worked fine in adding SuperSU application but was unable to reboot to system.
Reboot system and power off buttons (even hard reset) always leaded to recovery.
(I was also unable to power off the phone)
I was just able to go into the bootloader by keeping pressed the volume down key at reboot start.
(and with the bootloader I could flash the stock TWRP that unstuck me)
I used the chinese TWRP from piskr tutorial.

Should be in the download here:
http://www.gizdev.com/rooting-huawei-honor-7-unlockbootloader-root-install-twrp-recovery/#
if you want to preserve your stock recovery and still use TWRP, you can just boot into any recovery you want..
Just use the command :
Code:
fastboot boot <recovery image>
This will only boot the recovery on the device, and preserve your stock recovery.

May i know how you restore the stock ROM and recovery?

Why do you need stock recovery for that? I just wiped everything on mine and when I rebooted from twrp I chose not to protect twrp. Rma was approved so I guess they were satisfied with that.

Yes, including internal storage.
That I didn't know, but you don't void warranty by installing custom recovery or rooting so it shouldn't be an issue either way.

One "?" is enough dude..
You have to install adb for Mac (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/31374085/installing-adb-on-mac-os-x), enable USB Debugging on your phone, reboot into bootloader mode :
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
then go into:
Code:
su
and then
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash <recovery_name>.img
I wanted the new update so that I could move my apps to my SD card. I also wanted TWRP.
I followed this guide to install TWRP.
TWRP was successfully flashed. So I try to boot into it using 'fastboot boot recovery.img' to boot into it.
I get the 'ERROR: Remote DTB not found' message. So booting into recovery using fastboot doesn't work.
I try booting into recovery manually (volume down + power). That doesn't work either. It freezes up at the OnePlus logo.
So, since TWRP isn't working, I flash stock recovery. That worked fine, and booted into it successfully (manually).
I boot into stock recovery and followed this guide to try updating manually using stock recovery. Of course, the update fails.
I then try flashing the full dump here. I factory reset, then flashed the full dump.
"Update successful."
Now, it refuses to boot into system AND recovery.
Okay, I'll just reflash stock recovery?
ERROR: Remote DTB not found
Booting into recovery manually freezes up too, just like TWRP did earlier.
Is there something I'm doing wrong to get this error? Google tells me dtb errors are caused by corrupt IMGs, but I downloaded all the IMGs twice and from all available mirrors to try them out. I see that some other users in the OnePlus forums and in XDA are having the same problems when flashing TWRP.
I really just need to be able to boot into at least one recovery so I can flash a system dump again.
I am not sure if this is the cause of the problem, but I've noticed most OnePlus X users have the E1003 model, while I am using a E1005.
Any help is appreciated.

Fine, I'll just use fastboot boot recovery.img .
Nope, I get the 'ERROR: Remote DTB not found' message. Still stuck on the fastboot screen.

Well, pressing volume up + power actually takes me to bootloader mode.
Volume down + power, on the other hand, shows the OnePlus logo and the Android logo for a split second. Then the android logo disappears, the OnePlus logo stays, and it freezes there.
In case my post wasn't very clear, the same thing happens even if I don't attempt to boot into recovery (as in, it does the same thing if I just press the power button to boot into the system).

I have the same dtb error when I try any twrp image I have attempted to flash...exactly like your issue, but stock works fine.
If you can get into stock you can flash the full rom zip of 2.1.2 and then flash the ota to 2.1.3 after.
You have to flash the full zip first.

I can't find it anywhere. I found here on xda a twrp for MT6735m (my cpu as well) but I don't know if it's safe to flash it, look here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-2-0-unofficial-port-t3439197
I know I first have to unlock the bootloader, I know how to, then flash the twrp using fastboot, but my only concern is that it'll brick my device somehow, because the recovery above is for ZTE Blade. Can you tell me if it's safe to flash it?
It's not only unsafe, it's also not going to work. You need your stock recovery to be able to port and use a custom recovery like TWRP.

Maybe I'll be able to put my hands on the stock recovery, but can you point me an useful guide on how to port (I don't know what this actually means in the context) the custom recovery?
Okay, get your stock recovery first of all, flash it and see how it goes. Installing a custom recovery(e.g TWRP) will come later.

I'm back with fresh news. I flashed the stock recovery, but I still have the same problem. What can I do?
Hello everyone! I'm new on XDA and this is my first thread.
So, I've been messing around with my Honor 7 lately. I've flashed a custom recovery (TWRP), flashed a custom ROM (Unofficial CM13 for Honor 7: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7/development/unsupported-cyanogenmod-13-honor-7-plk-t3542627) and root (SuperSU) and I've started to regret all of my decisions so I would like to take a fresh start (AKA flashing the STOCK ROM/Firmware)
Now, before anyone starts redirecting me to other (similar) threads, I've tried a lot. I tried to flash the stock recovery (a lot of different versions) but still when I try to boot into the stock recovery, my phone just reboots. I tried to do the force update thing (holding both power + & - buttons: http://www.gogorapid.com/flash-stock-rom-huawei-honor-7/), but this combination just boots my phone into TWRP. Could it be that I'm doing something wrong or that I'm missing something, like some requirements that are not being met? Please help me, I would appreciate it a lot! Thanks in advance.

It seems that you didn't flash the stock recovery properly.

Thanks for the reply!
Could it be? I booted my phone into bootloader (unlocked) and flashed stock recovery with adb using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". I tried a variety of versions (from B100 up to B330 I think), but none of them seemed to work. What am I doing wrong?

Hey,
Sorry for the slow reply, I'm currently on vacation. Euh I already have TWRP installed right now, I just don't know how to install the stock recovery.

Grab the stock recovery file for your device. You can flash inside TWRP itself.

I tried that, read my second post on this thread. It didn't work, I didn't know which version I had to use. I ended up with a bootloop on various versions as mentioned in one of my first posts.

Alright, I will try this. As soon as I get back home since the wifi here sucks.

I planned on doing this though I don't know where I can get the firmware for my H7... Could you perhaps provide me a link? It would be very kind of you (+ The wifi here sucks, so I will try downloading firmwares when I get home)
