I found many rom's in this forum, in one it says that you don't need to unlock bootloader. Others says that is required.
I really need help,to get every detail that is required to install rom (and if that's possible without unlocked bootloader, without any problems?)
Device LG P760
How do you do this?
2. Wipe data and cache.
3. Flash rom and GApps.
for stock rom doesn't need to unlock bootloader
for custom rom you need to unlock bootloader
if not unlock bootloader you can use BUMPED ROM

Hy guys!
I came across the problem when i was trying new roms for my Neo. Whenever i flash a new rom I risk that it'll go bootloop because I'm on locked bl. If so i cannot reach recovery again because it is on the /system partition itself which is formatted in the process.
I just wanted to ask if somebody could make a flashable zip for our phones so when i flash a new rom I can flash the recovery straight after the rom.
Why don't u flash a stock rom -> unlock bl -> root to gain CWM -> install ROm
I think wating for sb making Custom Rom for u would take a long time
It's just my opinion :silly:
Install x-parts from the market: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5wdnkuQ1dNaW5zdGFsZXIiXQ.. Anyway just make a backup before you flash the rom. Use Flashtool to flash stock firmware, root and install recovery. You can restore your backup from there.:silly:

Yes that would be great..they should include CWM in the rom itself..as in automatically install CWM after flashing rom..before the first boot..

yup thats the problem with locked bootloaders..but if u unlock it then custom kernels will have CWM built-in..

I know that if I unlock the bl I can flash custom kernels but in service menu I have the line: Bootloader unlock allowed: NO. In that case can I still use the testpoint method?
I know how can i install recovery on the rom itself but as I said the phone can get into bootloops after installations and in that case I have to flash stock, flash neov kernel, root flash original kernel install cwm and start the whole process from the beginning.

You can unlock it, but you won't be able to use it(fastboot) until you remove SIM lock (with setool for example-paid, no free way).

Good so you have JB hboot/version. Remember always: you have JB hboot.
What does it mean? When you will unlock your bootloader and you have to install a custom recovery/rom you will download only JB version,OK?
Good now go on htcdev.com and unlock it. Follow instructions, are simple.

If you install a custom recovery (TWRP/CWM) will you not lose your data.
If you install a custom ROM, you will lose your data but you need a custom recovery to install a custom ROM.

What version is it?
In the post title it says 1.5.0.0, but when I boot into recovery, it says CWM-based recovery v6.0.something.something
I want to flash a ROM, but would MUCH rather flash via ROM manager, rather than manually, and I need to know what version it is in order to use ROM manager.
Also, I don't have 10 posts, so I can't post in the actual thread yet.
Thanks in advance!

Did you unlock your phone bootloader? If not you cannot flash any custom rom. It'll soft-brick your phone.
For CWM v1.5.0.0 may be his build version.

So your phone bootloader is lock (as all new phone). If you want to flash custom rom please unlock it first, search for bootloader unlock for your phone model in forum.
Hello all
I have unlock the bootloader of my Moto Z, rooted it and install twrp.
since that, it's nomore possible to boot with the original Nougat rom.
I can flash other roms with twrp but the phone is no more recognized with i plug it to my computer (MW10)
I have tried many roms and choose the MTP transfert but it don't works anymore.
I think somethin get wrong with the bootloader.
If somebody could help me
Do not forget, if you did "turn on write on system" (or something like that), you need to disable dm-verity!
After this you have to wipe data.
To disable dm-verity it is enough to flash a file with TWRP or flash a custom kernel.
(Everyone here tells that you have to flash a custom kernel in order to disable dm-verity, but this is not true.)
Flash the file attached to this post.
I have try this but it does not help me.
I think something get wrong with the bootloader because everytime i boot it asks me for the pin i gave before unloking it.
i have tried some roms and kernels but already the samr problem

Bootloader is not your problem I think. Can you boot into bootloader from twrp?
Did you wipe data?
Cancel the "enter password" request and then wipe data.
Then data is unencrypted but you can easily enable it with a custom rom.

could you please explain how shall i do this
Boot into TWRP.
It will ask for a password (if phone is really encrypted), tap on cancel.
Go to wipe and follow what it shows. After this you can restart your phone.
Alternatively you can go to wipe, Advanced, select data and cache and wipe those two.
OK; I think I have solved my problem.
I have flashed an image of nougat with fastboot then i have flashed a new logo-bin and now i have th original Moto rom. I also get an official update from Moto.
fot the connectio with my PC I could also solved the problem. The MotoZ was recognized with fastboot but not when it was running with Android.
I have simply buy a new USB cable and now it works.
Thank you to all to have helped a biggener;
So i wanted to install an evo x rom, and on the website it said it's optional to format. I can't remember what i did exactly but since then, no ROM loads. I can't even wipe all the data. What could i do?
