Motorola Moto E XT1526 Stuck in Recovery - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Okay so a few monthes back I tried to root and unlock my phone. Now I don't quite remember the specifics but I think I replaced my OS and or Boot File with Recovery mode, so now I am unable to do anything, I can't even load up Fastboot to do a factory recovery, as every option or button input brings me back to recovery mode. Is there ANY way I can get my phone back? It'd be nice to save the 100 dollars it would take to replace it.

Hello, and thanks for using XDA Assist.
I'm going to have this thread moved to the Moto E 2015 Q&A forum, where there are experts with your device that can give you the help that you need to fix your phone.
Good luck!

LG G Stylo Secure Booting Error [Error Code 1003]

I recently rooted my Lg G stylo (Metro). I was messing around with the Clockwork Mod Recovery. Long story short, I had to reboot into recovery but I keep getting a "Secure Booting Error" "Error code 1003". It keeps restarting over and over again and the same message keeps popping up. The screen doesn't pass the logo, it just shuts down after the error message shows up. repeat
There is no way to access the homescreen or anything. I trying to factory reset by holding the VOLUME DOWN + POWER KEY. It works. I get a menu that says Perform a factory reset , [Yes/NO]. When i click yes, the reset begins but after a while it shuts down and continues to repeat the same message. "Secure booting Error". "Error Code 1003". I have also been able to acces download mode where the screen would say firmware update/Usb. But idk what to do after that. Im pretty sure its not bricked since it still turns on.
Did you unlock the bootloader before you rooted or did you use one-click rooting apps to root your phone?
I have the same problem

As a new owner of an LG G Stylo MS631 (the Metro PCS model) I had the same issue just yesterday when working with GameTheory's Katana ROM and he pointed out that when the Secure Booting Error Code 1003 shows up it's because you have to go into the Developer Options (tap the build version 7 times under Settings - About phone - Software Info, back out two steps and then find the new setting just above About phone) and check the box next to "Enable OEM unlock" - this doesn't unlock the bootloader but it does allow you to use tools like TWRP without hassles or some of the reboot to recovery apps.
If you're getting the error and you can't get past it in any respect, you're going to need to flash the factory KDZ to get it truly useful again. That's what I ended up doing because there simply was no other way to get recovery or anything else working.
Flash the KDZ back to pure stock, go into the Developer Options and enable that option (Enable OEM unlock) and then go about rooting/flashing TWRP/etc.
Good luck...

Hello, I just soft brick my MS631 this morning. I had the phone rooted perfectly fine withthe katana ROM. Then, I stupidly use the reboot recovery option that is baked into the ROM withough developer options enabled and OEM chec (I forgot). Now, I get the looping Secure Booting Error 1003. If, I do the factory reset step (hold power and vol down) I get to the factory reset options, but when I select YES, it'll go through the loop again. HELP please, as I A) cant afford another phone right now and B) don't want to go back using my Windows 640 LTE phone with MetroPCS.

I did a similar thing. Go to HERE and follow GameTheory's unbrick guide. If you have problems downloading the KDZ like I did, then try getting it HERE
I actually did GT steps right after this post. Im now back on Katana and learned from my mistakes lol
I accidentally used king root without developer mode enabled
I also bricked my phone to the point of it being unusable. I am running on boost mobile and I am using android marshmallow 6.0. My phone said it was rooted after using the 1 Click root app and I went to start it and it now says 'security ERROR MODDED 1003'. I am stressed out at this point and I have reset it via developer menu about 3 times to no avail. I am familiar with rooting and roms but I'm not really used to using code. I'm stock everything and I am running on Boost mobile. If anyone can find a boost rom for me to use it may be possible to put my phone in download mode. I do have an sd card if it is needed to load a zip on. Please help me get my phone booted again! I believe a sprint KDZ may work but I can not find one for download anywhere. Thanks !
This may happened to me too. I am on the Boost version as well. I used the king root app to root the phone then I tried to install the adaway app. When the app told me to reboot the phone, I clicked okay but I hit the secure bootloop. I didn't even try to install a recovery. How do I fix this?!?!?!

What if you cant get the phone to do anything outside of the boot loop?

I wish I could offer some help but I haven't owned an LG Stylo since I made that post - I literally sold that one the following day. Hopefully someone else might be able to provide some assistance.

Sorry for the bump on this thread. I followed the unbrick guide mentioned here, and all seems like a GO... except a lost service. Screen Lock says "No Service", but I am receiving text messages from contacts.

the issue im running into using the tutorial to flash the metro kdz is it says it got disconnected from the server. any ideas?

No recovery, no command, different boot loader? I think I screwed the pooch...

First of all I searched, found similar posts but not exactly the same issue.
I needed to flash back to boost and followed the instructions at android views to restore it to stock (cannot yet post links) using the correct rom for the moto e second gen 4g lte surnia. The standard boot loader that has text you scroll through, gone. Now has a dead android and instead of showing all the options at once you have to scroll through each one with the volume keys.
I think i forgot to enable debugging in CM13... So I feel like an ass. I know there is a way to get into developer options on boot, but alas after nearly 90hrs I'm seconds from getting a plane ticket and shove the phone in some of motorolas most unsavory places!
So now I'm asking the professionals! Been using XDA since my old HTC Windows mobile, bout time I dive in, first time needing help though!
Try this as a starting point http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3088410
Sent from my XT1526 via CM 13
Almost the exact same thing I tried, just a different rom. Hopefully it works!
Ok here's my issue, it does not show up in adb or fastboot when I use the adb devices command. How can I force debugging to be enabled?
Ok that DID the trick. Updated prl, went to flash twrp back on to it, had to redo everything in the above link. So where can I find a version of twrp that won't crash it after using the 'boot recovery.img' command? I had the orange logo one before but the one on xda is the blue on ?
Also the text based recovery changed to this...

Need help with a lg tribute that is stuck in bootloop after a factory reset.

I have been reading everything I can find and tried to figure it out myself but the more I read the more questions I have and the less sure I am about trying any of the things I have read.
My problem is with an lg tribute from the company called Textnow. My friend ordered the phone from them and was having some issue she decided to try to fix by doing a factory reset which caused it to be stuck on the Lg boot logo. I tried booting to recovery to fix it. The recovery was TWRP. I was under the impression that Twrp was a custom recovery program that was installed after unlocking boot loader. Best I can tell is the phone was already rooted by the company. Does this sound right?
I messed with it for while but couldn't get anywhere with it because I haven't any knowledge of rooting except what I read . I noticed it kept saying something about simulating actions and figured that out but now after trying to back up and restore and poking around that it says there is no os , I was hoping someone could help me figure out where to go from here as it isn't my phone and I would hate to damage it although my friend keeps telling me to just try whatever no big loss because she can't use it like it is so.
I am not sure what the phone had for firmware because I cant get it on. I only know that it had twrp 2.8.5.0 as recover not the usual android. I can access the phone internal and external through twrp and though pc and adb. I made sure to get drivers updated. I tried to flash the stock rom from its forum but it failed,. any info would be mush appreciated

Need help unbricking LG G2...Will pay $75 if someone can help me

I have a bricked LG G2 that is stuck in a boot loop.
I was running a custom rom and lent the phone to my ex-gf and she tried said yes to OTA update. Then instead of telling me she attempted the fix the phone herself and in doing so used TWRP to wipe backups/all data/everything.
I can get into TWRP. I can use adb sideload.
That is it. No recovery mode, No download mode.
I think I need to fix the stock firmware/image. LG flashtool doesn't work and I think that is because I cannot boot the phone into android and because I can't get into Download mode.
Here is a semi-revelant thread on XDA, I posted there but haven't had a lot of replies, I doubt many people check the G2 forums as its an old phone at this point, yet its still in perfect condition, has a 1080p screen and runs fast.

Please please help. Ill paypal someone $75 if they can help me get it working.
Thanks

Moto e5 play stuck in fastboot

Need help, not sure what i did but i was initially trying to root my phone to recover deleted texts from it. I followed all steps from the unlockr site on how to root the moto E . Got as far as the SuperSU.zip file and the moto e cwm recovery then hit a brick wall...nothing happened. undid all the steps i could and tried using TWRP instead. This also did nothing so i attempted to refresh the phone via factory reset and now whenever i try to load up or load into recovery i get a pop up that is half cut off saying device has been unlocked and can't be trusted to learn more visit motorola site /unlockbootloader device will boot in 5 seconds. It is also saying n/a in the top left corner, i don't know what to do and i wish i wasn't such a noob at this but i figured i was following guides until I somehow managed to gloriously botch it.
Edit: can't turn phone off as it just reboots itself back to fast boot.
