without touching even when the finger is brought really close to the screen the device registers a touch. this is a problem in typing. is there a way to reduce the touch sensitivity of the phone?
anyone have an idea on how to adjust the touchscreen sensitivity? This is the same issue in samsung s6
try SGS screen booster from Play Store. I had an issue with the screen sensivity on my other phone and this app did its job. It says it's for Samsung phones but many users including myself had tried on other phones.

I don't think so, not in the OPX anyway. I believe you are referring to the Glove Mode setting which appears in Sony's Xperia smartphones. I don't think touch sensitivity can be changed-not w/o root anyway.

It's a module deployed by a custom kernel, if you're on stock, reflash and see.
Can be a faulty touch sensor.

It was just released as the free app of the day. Only problem is that it doesn't upscale on our nooks. It only uses a small portion of our screen.
runs beautiful and full on mine. Sure you'll figure it out ;0
I know not helpful... its late though I forget how I made all apps run full.

Will this have any other consequences? What does compatibility mode do?
Runs great, and quite a fun little app too.

I never run into issues.
There are issues. Download ShootU! lite, and try it full screen, then try it in the smaller window.

I dont use ShootU! lite. problem solved.
I haven't run into any issues with Compatibility Mode unchecked either and I do not use ShootU! lite.

Yes it will have consequences: a whole bunch of games that ordinarily wouldn't run right will now run correctly.
Honestly, I've been running with Compatibility Mode unchecked for a couple of months. It's one of the first things I do after flashing a new ROM. Haven't noticed any problems.

That did not work for me. Tried to run game with Spare Parts Compatibility mode checked AND unchecked, and it's the same small screen placed at top-center. Any ideas??? Running Cm7 nightly 125 with dalingrins kernel set to 1.3ghz...
Thanks. Seems like this might help fix a few irritating games (others that do the same thing).

You need to un-check compatibility mode and then re-start the Nook Color. Don't just turn the screen off, but hold down the power button until you get the "reboot" option and click it.

Latest update now works on my Nook full size.
I was on Amazon.com appstore and it informed me that there is an update for Fieldrunner HD. I updated and now I don't have the small size but the full screen.

what a nonsense! swipe well how do you get to recent apps by swiping! you meant to long press. my question was any solution as (kernel) not to workaround it. it was never designed to work swipe it was designed to work by press, and it does not!
I removed the screen protector and it did improve the touch sensitivity considerably.

I think so, I did the same with my Arc and Tablet S . Improved response and not so much a dust magnet

Swipe actually works fine for the recent apps. Just stop on the dot and wait.
Personally, I find the swipe motion easier then aiming for the silly dot. Never had issues since starting to swipe rather than press. But that's just me.
For me it works when pressing above the dots, not directly at the dots (about halfway from the dots to the display).
Also, I can press anywhere near the dots when using the whole thumb instead of only a fingertip.
so what you saying we cant increase sensivity with kernel

This is typically a hardware restriction. No software changes could possibly enhance the touch sensitivity. These dots weren't made like other Androids' capacitive buttons.
Correct me if I'm wrong though, but to me it doesn't seem possible

Does any one have the same issue? I have set it to always be on but it only works when the screen is on. Please advise.
It was that way with the S8+ also. I thought it was supposed to work when the screen is off but I could never get it to work. Kind of a bummer since I think it would be a cool feature.

Super helpful as always. I thought maybe the always on display had to be on, but it doesn't seem to matter. The only way it works is with the screen on that I've found.
No problems with edge lighting here. Been working every time.

But it's not working if the screen is off or in standby that is what he says. I had a s8 and i never get it work
It didn't work for me on the s8 bjr MSG and WhatsApp are working fine now. Nothing else
I had mine working and it got turned off. It was only working with screen on. Went back into settings, and apparently the settings got reset to default when I switched samsung themes. Changing the settings back fixed my issue. I can confirm, that at least on mine, edge lighting does work with screen off.
Edit: Apparently it's no longer working again after just trying it.
you guys have to turn it on for all apps, normally it is on just for 3 of them
Same here.

Tried that too. Still doesn't work.
Maybe is not working when you are using one of the live infinity display themes...? Have you tried with normal backgrounds (and consequently with normal AOD - not live one).
Maybe is just working when the device is screen down?.
Just a thought.
I've had no issues with it working with the screen off. I have AOD on and the original theme still. I only have it set to come on when I get a text thru Textra app
It turns out you have to make sure that pop up notifications is on when the screen is off for all the apps you want the edge lighting to work.:fingers-crossed:
Yet another stupid software design from Samsung, all most of us want is that the edge lighting can replace the notification led, right? But no somehow they over complicate this ****.

The one app that works when the screen is off is messages for me.
Hi, is there a way to reduce the system wide strength of the feedback touch, it's really annoying , like little little pharts. I'd like to be able to set like the vibration in gboard, can get that nice and subtle. Many thanks.

I use swift key.. same on all keyboards.. lag-delay and sometimes ghosting while typing fast.. super annoying.. mi 9 lite was much better.. hope it gets fixed
I experience this issue mainly towards the edge of the screen. So I installed SwiftKey and resized the keyboard to fit only to the flat part of the screen. I think it's better this way.
after that i think the best thing is to stay with my lovely mi 9 lite, even if i don't like the thing that it doesn't interest too much devs for roms and modded apps like gcam lol

I second this. I have increased the pointer speed to the maximum (apparently pointer speed has to do something with touch sensitivity) and I experience a significant improvement in touch sensitivity when typing. Thank you.
