For the US version of the XT1527 At&t is there a way to silence the device, so I get no vibration nor sound from any type of notification?? I want complete silence. Thanks

Was only on stock rom for a day. But look for do not disturb mode. Set it for total silence, and until I turn this off.

Don't have a do not disturbe option in any menu.

When you press the volume down you'll see "none", " all" and "priority" just tap none and set it.

Thanks!
It could, but settings > developer options > stay awake

Unfortunate. It is for me on CM9.
Found a somewhat solution. I programed a tectile to toggle car mode. The only problem is that it opens the s voice app, which is kind of annoying.
I am looking for that too. I remember my S2 had an option to keep awake even in stock roms. Is there any 3d party application that is able to do that?
So, does anyone know how to disable that sound?
Thanks in advance

silent mode
Be very careful with that as it is illegal in many places to silence the camera sound.

Also, if you have root, you can go to /system/media/audio/ui and rename camera_click.ogg and camera_click_short.ogg to something else (I add .bak to them). This will disable the click in both silent/non-silent sound profiles.
Um, open the camera, click the settings icon, and scroll down where it says shutter sound? Turn it off. Done.

Maybe its just my model, but my Verizon SGS3 doesn't have this option. I had to do it other ways.

There is no such option, at least not on mine from Verizon's phone and camera settings.

I did the same, except the only file I renamed was Shutter.ogg and that worked.

As another option to changing the name of the sound file and if you're rooted, in the Sprint Developers forum there's a configuration line you can add to edit the camera features so that Verizon S3's can get back that 'shutter sound option' check it out:

Method 1:
Using Root Explorer or something similar browse to system\media\audio\ui and rename Shutter.ogg and Shutter_multiple.ogg to whatever you want or just add a .bak extension to both files.
Method 2:

I just put my phone to silent mode using the volume icon in the notifications bar. No sound when I shoot. I expect that will be patched.

Long pressing the power will do a hard reboot, used if phone were to become froze and unresponsive.I can't answer your question on how you would change that function.

I guess I mean medium press? The one that brings up the menu of what you'd like to do, shutdown shutdown and restart, etc. Well before it just shuts off from holding it down.
Works perfectly!

You know, like on all the aosp and cyanogen ROM's. Push the power button and you get the option to boot to recovery, download mode, restart, shut off, etc...

I think beyond a vibrator (giggle) failure these are the two most logical options.
I have the opposite problem. My back, home and menu buttons vibrate when I touch them. How can I disable the vibration? I'm using android 4.2.1
This are my current settings.

Halfway down the second post you will see a clean lockscreen with no emergency call button. Flash that zip file. I am on sprint as well and it works no problem. All I did was wipe dalvik and cache and flashed it.

I can't screenshot the lockscreen. I just tried all of the ways to unlock the device and they all work. I've had no issues since I did it. If your weary of doing it just make a nandroid and try it and if you have issues revert to your nandroid. I've also done thisbeverytime I have flashed a new rom.

I always saw this as a way for someone else to call 911 in the event you're incapacitated. But I guess since pretty much everyone has a cell phone now, it's not really necessary.
