Hello all,
Happy Holidays!
I bought my oneplus-x for few days. And it dropped from my pocket. The back glass is cracked. Any idea on whether is warranty covered? Seriously, i doubt so. Any idea on the repair cost?
By the way, i bought it from Lazada Singapore. In Singapore, we can buy OnePlus 2 and X directly without invite. Lazada is the authorized dealer.
Dayum bro that's why there are cases available :<
Put a dbrand skin on its not worth the cost of repairing.

The Singapore Oneplus Service Center is checking on the cost. But i suspect its around sgd100 to sgd150. The phone cost me sgd440.
My crack is quite bad. I don't think the dbrand can really stick on the back completely
Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
I really hope i dont crack mine as the cost to send back to china for repair + postage i dont think it worth doing.

Yeah. Put casing.
Bad luck!
That is bad luck bro. But your right about the the use of a case, I ALWAYS use a case with my phones (no matter how cheap the device is), for me case + tempered glass screen protector is standard.

Help!! Need a replacement screen for my BA anybody have a spare or know where to get a replacement screen for a reasonable price. Not sure how I broke it but there is a crack down the center of the screen and now it w'ont work.
I am really sorry for you. I cracked my iPAQ screen a while ago and found a replacement at ipaqrepair.co.uk....but I guess they are only for iPAQs
I know how you must feel
Thanks will check it out anyway and yes totally gutted I use the BA for everything like having my right arm cut off ,
Have noticed that it is only the glass that is cracked it is not bleeding at all and i think that the digitizer is only mlfunctioning because of the crack is it possible just to replace the glass panel and not the lcd display?
Try calling HTC Europe at 08712-23-0217. Leave a message and they will call you back in a day time. Just tell them your problem and see how much would they charge for it. I've got my under warranty HTC Charmer to them TWICE for some speaker/motherboard problem, and so far so good. Their service is better than I expect from a Taiwan company.

Yes it is, there are 2 distinct types of digitiser though, the sony and the toppolly one. There is another poster selling just a digitiser, I went into more detail in that thread. HTCEurope a: won't repair and XDA IIs and b: won't swop just the digitiser, they swop the entire LCM assembly.
Richard
Just been quoted £125 to repair the screen by a company called Apex, trouble is the phone only cost me £150 in my book thats beyond econmical repair if it was a car it would be a write off.I think it will have to be an insurance job (get a free one with bank account) unless someone comes up with a reasonable price on a used one.

The sony one he has can be 'widenend' to fit any LCD so it doesn't matter what's in your phone - just remove the warranty seal completley - the odds are they won't repair your handset they'd just replace anyway if you claim on insurance as they would have to use new parts - no trawling ebay for them to fix your phone....
Richard
Well guys sent my BA off to the insurance company and had a phone call today said they could not repair or replace it, and then THEY DESTROYED MY PHONE and then they said they can give me a cash settlement or the choice of Nokia n91 or the n90 what do you guys think, what should I go for? and more to the point how much would the cash settlement be as you can no longer get the blue angel anymore new that is.
Anybody been in this situation would not mind the n91 but it is not satnav capable at the moment and I need this capability.
Check the prices on somewhere like expansys, get the more expensive, flog it on ebay, buy a 2nd hand blueangel.
I sold a boxed MDA III for just £100 on there the other week :-(
PM me and I might be able to help if you need it sourcing one.
Can't fix it my @$$.....muppets.
They should not have destroyed your phone and infomed you after the event IMO.
EDIT - IIRC expansys do still have the [email protected] £600. Ask them for a cheque!!!!!...
Richard
Yes was surprised they did not ask me first but oh well still have the mini s just like having the bigger screen for sat nav loooking t expansys think your right I'll go for the money.
Update insurance have coughed up £450 not bad considering I only got it for £150
I stupidly cracked my SGS2 glass and the service center guys are requesting 6000 INR to replace it :-(
Is there anyother way to manually do the same?
Will it deny my warranty?
What the hell you were doing with your phone you breake the gorilla glass.
sol- order the screen of sgs 2 on eBay or Google search it. and then go to any local phone repair shop I think that might help.don't know if this will void warranty.
If I helped you In any means hit thanks button.....
Im curious. Do you get money or something when someone hits the "Thanks" button

Try using the search button many post have been done on this
Pic of the broken glass please. And let us know how you cracked the Gorilla Glass.
You would have to replace the glass+screen assembly (as its glued together), its not very hard but means taking the whole phone apart.
I think the unit costs about £60~ (GBP) there is a thread on the forum with a howto about replacing it, and a model number you can google to find the part.

Try youtube a method, I'm sure there's something on there
And it probably will void your warranty
You cant do much. Either buy a replacement from eBay and get it repaired by someone, or buy a new phone..
Don't feel bad dude... *picks up his SGS2 with broken screen
I ordered a new screen off ebay for $100 shipped from Hong kong. I have it, just haven't replaced it yet.
I broke mine chopping wood with an axe and having the phone jammed against my pocket knife...
buying from ebay is cheaper, but u need to chage it yourself, y not pay 6000 INR
6,000.00 INR = 73.7767 GBP
Not too expensive to replace I think tbh
Do you have a link where can this be done
Thanks

This, for the price of the piece itself this is a minimal labour charge.
so it's 73.7767 GBP plus parts?
Am i right there

i see quite a few guys who expressed earth shattering shock. C'mon, do you think corning's gorilla glass is invincible? Oh please, remember that the hardness of the glass does not come at a price. In science, hardness is defined as the ability to scratch another material. What corning has done in its proprietary treatment, is to increase the hardness rating of the glass but in return, the brittleness of the glass goes up a few notches.
my sympathies goes to the OP. try finding a touchscreen digitizer. it is essentially glass + touchscreen sensor + digitizer. dont bother changing the glass alone. i doubt if you sent your unit, the techs will change the glass alone. They probably change the touchscreen digitizer in its entirety as well.
Well after having my z ultra for a month I decided to go nearly case less (have the Incipio Watson case) using a thin case, I managed to crack the glass over the screen in my pocket which renders the entire phone useless. I do realize that it was my fault for going without a case and not being extremely careful. But now that this has happened to me I want to let you guys know the after effects. Like I said I only cracked the top layer glass but due to design the touch sensitive portion also is damaged. They sandwiched the glass, digitizer, and lcd together as one unit with the digitizer glued directly to the glass so once cracked the entire phone has to be disassembled and glass, digitizer, and lcd has to be replaced as a assembly ($250us). This is not a cheap repair and I've found one aftermarket online repair shop that's charging $300us to fix with no guarantees. And they don't say whether it will still be water proof after repair. I called Sony before they announced the phone here and they told me due to the fact that it isn't offered here they would have to send the phone to the country of origin for repair and it could take a month or two before it returns. And they didn't have a firm cost of repair but $189 normal phone cost. I think due to the thinness of the phone made it extremely fragile with super thin glass (which is how I think they managed the use of metals as stylus) covering the screen. So I recommend getting protection that adds rigidity and screen protection or getting added warranty coverage to the phone to avoid my bad luck.
If something goes wrong with my ultra I will run it over with my car and use my home insurance. 100$ and i get a new one. Here in Sweden it's called "bad luck" insurance

Just to let you know, while looking on the brando site, I noticed they had Z ultra replacement screens for $150.... Don't know their quality, etc... but I did see them...
I only have a Skinomi clear skin on mine. Front pocket, back pocket daily phone. Even the hood of my car dropped on it while using it doing a repair. No issues here pretty tough. Although I was sure I cracked it after that incident.
Yeah, I'm on the same boat.. How tf did it break?

Had it in the pocket screen faced towards my leg in a squatted position (wasn't thinking and frustrated at the same time from work) and cracked it from pressure/flexing presumably since all cracks stem from single crack at edge. What's crazy is that it seems to still be cracking even though im not using it. Have pictures in tow.
Did you squat really low? or like sitting down position kind of squat? Did you feel the pressure on in your pocket?
I have the phone as well and I only have a gel case, but I'm always scared to sit down with it cause I feel a bit of pressure when I do.
I don't wear skinny jeans, just regular straight jeans.

Hey guys,
the other day heavy rain caught me up on the street, thus my phone was all wet.
It rang, I took it in my hands and it slipped away, and so my rear back glass got broke.
Now I'm looking for replacement, please do not send me to sony service, they're gonna have it for weeks and gonna charge me very much.
Does anyone know where can I get oem replacement for it?
Does this look good to you? http://www.eb

Regards!

That ebay link will probably be your best bet.
I would just worry that replacements are knock-off and plastic.
Waterproofing can probably be had if the same adhesive seems to be used and the back seems original. Would I throw my phone in the pool afterwards? Probably not...:silly:

It seems to me that have no logo on their plates, and they are out of stock for as long as I've been following them,
so I decided to go for this one
opinions?
did anyone try the above link?
It looks promising but did any one tried the link above and whether it's exatly what's given in picture. I tried eBay but it did not carry nfc antenna in it(I've damaged my nfc while removing back), also xperia logo looked fake on one I ordered.
Any suggestions for where to get exactly original part.
I dropped my tablet and cracked the glass on the display. Besides the crack in the outer glass, the display and touch input both work just fine.
I've noticed replacement glass on Amazon for about twenty bucks. A local repair place says that doesn't do the job; the display needs to go to a place that can refurbish the display and laminate new glass, at a cost of about $175 USD, with another $110 for the shop to remove and replace the display.
Is this legit? If it really is that complicated, does anybody know of a reliable shop that will just do the whole job my mail, hopefully for less money?
Thanks.

Your better of selling the tablet and taking the hit and pick up a new one, as it's a huge job replacing the glass only!
Also, the screens alone are £300+ and you can't get any local shop to replace the glass only, as you need specialist tools it's no small task but if you’re looking to repair it, the quote you been quoted is pretty fair!
I know it’s too late but why on earth didn’t you purchase a case for your tablet? I’ve got the supcase on my Tab S6 LTE amount of times mine has gone flying across the room I would have had a shattered display and shattered rear glass but thanks to the case not a mark or crack!

Sorry for you. In case it is only a single crack - have you thought of only putting a protective glass above it? That way it is sealed and might be less visible. Maybe you want to share a picture.

The crack is almost invisible and I can't even feel it, but it's annoying that it happened. A local repair shop is sending the screen in for refurbishing when they have several orders lined up.

UPDATE: Sending it directly to Samsung turned out to be the best option. It was a total of $280, including an upgrade to two day shipping.
I dropped it off at UPS on Friday, it was received on Tuesday, and I got a notice that the repair was completed today (Thursday, Christmas Eve). Even with holiday delays, I should have it early next week.
At that rate, it's about the same price as a year of carrier insurance + deductible.
