I recently bought a SanDisk Ultra microsd HC 64gb Class 10 card for my new samsung galaxy s3 I9300(International version)...
But just as i put it in the sdcard slot, the phone shows up the preparing sd card line in the notification menu and the sd card doesnt moun on the system...
After a while when i got fed up I put the card on another of my old phones since i crashed my card reader, and it still doesnt show up so i boot my old phone into ecovery and moint it onto pc (Rooted old htc explorer/pico)
And the phone shows up as unallocated space in the minitool partition wizard 6.0 pro when i check for the problem..
So i format the card to fat32 logical partition with 59.5 gb of space on the card and when it is formatted successfully
I put back in my SGS3 and still it is stuck on the preparing sd card line in the notification panel...
My question:-
How do i mount it on my phone and well perform it's sd card functions...

Well actually i used windows 7 for all this blunder
But anyways yes you are right fat32 could be the problem but my only reason for formatting it to fat32 was to use directory bind and i've also seen that ntfs formatted sd cards are not supported on android (i tried it on my dad's samsung galaxy s2)
But yeah finally i found my solution, you see there must be some problem in my s3 since later on i gave the card a last chance bu putting it in my dad's Galaxy SII and guess what, it mounted and worked, the first thing i did then was to format it by the default samsung interface in the settings section and then transfer a music file on the card and played it and when it worked i took it out and put it in my gs3 and FINALLY it worked!!! My guess some problem with the GSIII anyways i reported it to samsung's bug report section and the rest is history.... Thankyou mate!!:victory::good::laugh:

Cool. 32GB Class10 cards are the business.
No, you shouldn't need to copy any files from your old card. BUT.....
I'd check all applications and restore all data back to the phone (if you have the available internal storage available) before you insert the new card so you have no installed applications with sdcard storage. settings -> applications
Sometimes it's better to start a fresh and this way you're not copying over all your 'zombie' folders from apps you no longer have installed.
Export configuration/setup files for the likes of mail, contacts and etc, so you can import them again later if required.
I have a NAS and copy my old card(s) onto the NAS and thus I have access to the 'old' data via WiFi if and when I need it as the XPERIA X10i has no OTG microUSB access.
Apps2SD does NOT free up memory, it frees up space in your internal storage area and takes advantage of your high speed Classs10 miroSD card read/write I/O and 32GB disk space. Your XPERIA X10 has an internal data size as small as approx 400MB, with approx 2-3MB read/write I/O and that's what apps2sd is attempting to assist by freeing up space on your internal /data storage.
Apps2SD allows you to manage the applications which can be moved onto the microSD card. Apps2SD does leave some files (dex) in the /data partition on the phone internal memory, but even so you'll reduce the internal phone storage use.
The only real down side of Apps2SD is that you have to consider that all your SD card applications will NOT be accessible when your phone is mounted via USB on a PC as the 32GB microSD card is generally one FAT32 partition.

You can leave your XPERIA X10i to format the 32GB card or you can format it on a PC using one of the following tools.
You can read up on formatted unit size and partition alignment and see if it is right for you.
I use Ridgecorp Consultants FAT32 formatter
Or you could use SD Association FAT32 formatter (I've not used it)
When the XPERIA X10i formats and mounts the SD card a few XML files are created as well.
I would install Link2SD as your first user application as then all following applications will be 'auto' linked after you setup Link2SD on your SD card.
Most 'new-ish' ROMs have support for additional partitions (ext3/ext4) and mount the FAT32 formatted partition first before any additional ext3/4 partitions.
GB 2.3.3 doesn't have this support and you'll need to install via xRecovery or CWM(if supported)

Hi, I formatted the 32 gb sd card today using the minitool partion wizard (as it is given in the link you provided).
I partitioned 1 gb as fat32 and the remaining as ext2....
But now I can only see the 1 gb in my mobile(cant able to see remaining space), What should I do now.....
Shall I format the sd card completely to fat32 (back to its original form) . Is it possible to partion using link2sd...

No, I did not install the zip...
I formatted the sd in my pc, copied the rom in the sd card and then installed V23 ROM.......and then downloaded link2sd from play store...
I only did this....
Cool. And after successfully installing the FreaLab v23 ROM from the FAT32 partition of the card which may or may not be approximately 28GB which xRecovery/CWM can read without problems. You restarted your phone, logged in and proceeded through the startup wizard, probably rebooted if you followed the FeraLab V23 ROM install instructions and restarted the phone again.
You would then normally check to see if the MicroSD card is operational/mounted and/or go to settings->storage and check that you had a 28GB FAT32 partition mounted.
If the MicroSD card is not mounted or there is an operational error with the MicroSD card, then there is a fair chance you need to install the Link2SD mount correction zip to allow the Android phone to mount the FAT32 partition first.
I have to assume that because you were able to install the ROM from the MicroSD card that there is some sort of operational working formatted storage available on the MicroSD card that Android recognizes.
If this is successful and there was no MicroSD card mounting or operational errors you'd proceed to setup Google play with a user sign-in and installed Link2SD.
You'd then invoked Link2SD and assign the correct format to the partition. I chose ext4. You could choose any of ext2,ext3 or ext4 options.
If this is successful you will need to restart your phone or at least restart Link2SD.
Then you should be good to go.

This is not working, I tried with both the zip and without zip.....
It says
Mount Script error
Mount script cannot be created.

failed: Invalid argument
ext4 may not be supported on your device. Try FAT32 on the second partition
So, should I try FAT32 for both partitions....
In that case what will be the probability that it will choose exactly my 1gb partition...

im using x10 stock rom and I cant mount partition like ext2,ext3,ext4. it showing SD CARD IS BLANK OR UNSUPPORTED FILE SYSTEM.

Recently I decided to root and install LiquidSmooth on my Samsung Galaxy S3 9305T for the first time. It's great and I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner. Although since rooting I've developed an issue with my Sandisk 64GB micro sd card not mounting and appearing as Unallocated in Windows Disk Management. I've tried a few things recommended on here including:
SDFormatter as per advice in this thread which didn't work as my SD card wouldn't detect within the program.
Mini tool partition wizard following this method it seemed to format ok but once I put the sd card in the phone it would bring up an error of 'sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem after partition'. Once I loaded the card back into the computer, the partition would appear as Unallocated under disk management to which I'd try format it again to no luck.
Mounting and formatting the drive in ubuntu following this method. The drive mounted however ubuntu was unable to format it
Mounting and formatting the drive in CWM. The card was unable to be mounted within CWM
Tried formatting the card in a camera at home to no luck
I'm leaning towards the card being dead but before I go out and buy a new one I just wanted to check whether anyone had any advice on if there was anything I may have missed?

Sorry should have mentioned that 1GB was allocated to EXT4 and the rest FAT32.

I have finally partitioned my SD card (16GB) successfully using MiniTool Partition Wizard tool. I created two FAT 32 partions (G=11.75GB DATA and *.=2.87 APPS). I had problems when creating an EXT2 partition...Link2SD wouldn't recognize it or mount the card.
Was able to successfully mount the card after creating 2 FAT32 partitions so I went with that for now. Several questions though...
1) I was unable to actually move to SDcard using "native App2SD method" with an error telling me that App2SD not supported by my device because it has a primary external storage which is emulated from the internal storage. Instead had to link the app in order to move its files to the card. What does this mean and why can't I physically move? Also, what is actually happening when I create links?
2) Apps appeared to be on the external card afterward when I went to System/storage and reviewed space usage. I could not, however tell whether they were on the DATA or the APPS partition from File Manager OR after taking the card out and looking at it from my PC. There were a couple of l directories created (LGBackup and LOST.DIR) but all appeared to be empty. WHY?
3) After dismounting and taking the card out to explore on PC and then putting card back in the phone it was remounted automatically however all apps are now taking up space on my internal drive and external storage is completely. Also, all my home screen widget configs are empty with all listed under "APPS" utility. Can anyone explain what's going on and how to correct?

Windows-7 Pro allow me to copy my backup data to the card. I tried to re-partition but minitool doesn't recognize the partition. I tried the partition recovery mode but got no where now I have a bricked 32BG SD card. How do I recover my 32GB SD card?? I don't think Windows would recognize a Linux partition...which is what EXT is. That's why u can't move data to that partition at this time. MiniTool doesn't even SEE your EXT partition?? If that's the case how do u know it's an EXT partition in the first place? Perhaps u could post an image of the MiniTool screen? If it CAN see the partition I would delete it and recreate it with at least a portion being FAT32.

jakman: Because when I Partitioned my 32GB SD Card I was reading a XDA thread that said to Partition it using Ext4 as being the best Partition to use. When I look at Minitool it shows the Partitions that says Disk 8 read only ( Capacity 5.00GB for 1st partition and 24.72FGB for 2nd partition, used GB's then under File System Ext4 for both partitions, Type Primary both partitions, Status None. ). When I Hi-Light partition-1 it comes up on the left side with Actions and Wizards. Under Wizards the Choices are Copy Partition Wizard, Copy Disk Wizard, Partition Recovery Wizard. No other Choices the task bar at the top is grayed out. When I Hi-Light one of the other drives it adds a whole bunch of choices like Format Partition - Show Partition Properties and other actions that I can take Etc. I tried Partition Recovery Wizard it just tells me what files that can be recoverd. the Delete Icon is Missing. So there is no way i can delete the partitions and choose FAT 16/32 File System. When I first Partitioned the card Ext2, Ext3, Ext4, Fat 16, & Fat 32 were the File Systems offered. So do you Know of another Partition App that might enable me to Delete the partition and set the File System to Fat 32 thats FREE or doesn't Cost to Much as I'm on a fixed Income. Ive search the Forums but no body seems to have had this problem in the past or they found a solution else where and didn't post there Solution. can you use minitool partition wizard to recovery your 32gb card? You can use the function Recovery Partition to scan card. have you set the partition to primary after change its files system? maybe this is main reason why it cant be recognized.

I installed ubuntu on my tablet using linux deploy (file installation type) and everything worked fine, the problem is that my internal storage is full and i had to install it on my external micro sd card.As you know there is a limit of 4GB on fat32. I would like to have a bigger file or a folder....
Also i use Link2SD to link my apps to my micro sd. I use a San disk 128 GB micro sd so i have plenty of free space. Is portioned in 2, one fat 32 and one ext4 that's needed for the Link2SD.
I tried to install ubuntu file on the ext4 partition but i see that there is a problem with the permissions...is like the app can't write on that partition, so i wanna install them on the fat32 partition but as directory.
They downloaded normal on my sd, i can see them but i can't start the OS...
Any idea ? any help ? or maybe a tutorial about this type of installation ?
