I have a boost mobile variant, and have noticed that a few Devs are working on getting LTE up and running for cm13/12/12.1. I don't have a lot of knowledge on this subject but if you give me a zip(or help me figure out how to create the zip), I'll be your tester.
Good luck, and thank you for your hard work.

I have it all posted on CM13 forum.. The link seemed to not work, so just look for Temasek 6.0.1 ROM forum, go on page 4, and look for Starkley_ravings post. Follow every single step, even the factory reset. Then after you do all that go do the boost mobile APN fix. Just flash that zip in recovery. I'm using boost mobile cm13 its the surnia variant. I think xt1526
The thing im wondering is this: I have a sprint xt1526, surnia, and the furthest i have gotten is getting lte to show under sim status, aka mobile network type. It keeps saying "mobile network state disconnected", for some reason. If I could figure out how to fix this, then LTE would be a possibility.
Try flashing the boost mobile APN fix. Just google it, or follow the link I posted on the CM 13 thread. Maybe that Will fix it if it goes as far as knowing it's there. I would build a flash zip, but that goes beyond my knowledge. Maybe I can figure out how to upload a fresh backup from my device. I'd have to try that later.
OK, well I ran into a small issue after doing this to get LTE working. I found out today that this Somehow breaks phone service. It acts as if it's not activated to any service. It breaks dialing and receiving calls and texting, but LTE works, so I think I figured out what happened, but im going to continue testing, and I'll see about setting up something we can flash, or make a video in how to do this, I'll see about doing something tomorrow, tonight I celebrate a new year
Right now, starkly is working out a flashable zip to fix it. There's an issue updating the binaries, but I've got faith it'll work soon.
LTE is working on boost mobile xt1526 running cm13. I can't figure out how to add a picture here but I've got a screenshot to prove it.

After happily using my 'old' S4 on T-Mobile with HSPA+ since having the Note 3 as my primary line, I was naturally excited to update the baseband and unlock Band 4 LTE. However I noticed some caveats which I've now solved which will undoubtedly confuse everyone at some point.
Assuming you've got the correct APN for T-Mo (fast.t-mobile.com) and naturally install the SIM, if your phone is on global you will happily see working LTE but not so fast (no pun intended). If you call or text, it fails. If you quick check your About -Status in settings and look under network it will say say Unknown and not T-Mobile. Why? Essentially you're in LTE data only mode because by default the baseband is looking to connect to CDMA for everything else in the CDMA/LTE marriage that is Verizon unique, which obviously won't work here. The assumption otherwise is that you will only need GSM if traveling internationally so it never looks for LTE with GSM.
The quick easy fix is to drop out of Global back to the GSM/UMTS setting, which will bring everything back, network restored to T-Mobile, but now it won't use LTE again, lame.
Luckily there is a fix. Use the PhoneInfo app or however you prefer to get to the Testing App. Under device information change the dropdown to LTE/GSM (auto PRL). Toggle airplane mode or restart. When it comes up you should be on LTE and quick check settings again you'll see T-Mobile, and everything will work. So far this seems to hold pretty well.
EDIT: Note: This works for TW Roms. I have not had success in CM10.2. In CM I've only gotten LTE data (wrongly labeled Verizon) and nothing else. Doesn't even pick up my phone number regardless of settings used.
Can you send me the link to the TW rom you are using for this? Thanks!

Use this app, hit Device Information, and change the dropdown to LTE/GSM (auto PRL). Given the simplicity not sure you need much more of a walk through than that. A video would require a bunch of editing to blot out IMEI and phone #s.

I am using this app and it is great. When it works, it would show T-Mobile as Net. Op instead of Unknown. Only issue I am seeing is that 4G LTE signal is not so great over where I am at and once in a while it would drop to H+ and then get back to LTE. During that cycle, the Net. Op would become Unknown again. Wish there was a way to fix this permanently like tricky the SMS app to send GSM or whatever it is causing Net Ops to be unknown.

Couple of things. Remember as I started with the baseband in i545 when on LTE really wants to use CDMA as the default so when it's searching it's not going to obtain GSM as instantaneous As it otherwise would. Don't see any specific way of that getting patched ever as we're going against the grain of how it's typically supposed to be used. If you are on a fringy area for it, you may be better off just leaving LTE off, H+ speeds are practically the same anyway. Tmo is only using 3-5mhz channels for band 4 as they use other channels too so for us it's not going to be superfast like Verizon on average anyway.
My phone is in Global mode, I have fast LTE internet and calls/texting works just fine. I am using a Verizon S4 with MJ7 and a T-Mobile simcard. No need to change anything except the APN and switch to Global.

yep, cant really install anything on MJ7 since there is no official root even, so yeah, bone stock. Fastest I have gotten the internet to be was 25-26mbps download which isnt great, but for a cellphone is more than enough lol
So maybe the MK7 bootloader fixes this SMS issue...
How is this holding on for u ? I got it to work one time with hyperom and I restarted and it doesn't want to work. I did however get it working completely on a mj7 ROM and gummy kikat ROM. Weird.

so using the 4.4 gummy rom you were able to connect to LTE / HSPA+ networks easily? And SMS / MMS worked just fine? Upon trying with the MJ7 update, non-rooted, I could only connect to Edge services under the GSM profile. Using global would barely warrant the HSPA band.

Are you actually getting "LTE" or reframed 4G?
please school me how to change apn.
well let me give you a trick, flash an i9505 rom which you can find them here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop
then flash any verizon kernel (because if you just flash an at&t or t-mob rom it wont reboot it will say triangle and not authorized verizon software)
dont forget to update your baseband to lastest then you can enjoy LTE (and fast) without any problems.
if you get and prop. issues while flashing international roms just change the "updater-script" first line to :
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "jfltevzw" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "jfltevzw"
then you can flash anything you want.
Here is how I did it
Here is how I did it, but needs some minor updates since then. Please let me know if anyone tries it and is happy with the result.

The only way I'm aware of to test the sim would be to flash back to 100% stock and see off the radios work properly there.
You could call them for a new sim. They will likely have you do a bunch of useless stuff like FDR. Just lie about anything that would reveal root or modifications. When nothing they try fixes the issue, they should mail you a new sim, when you say its not convenient to stop by the store, that's why you called. Worked for me before anyways.

Thanks! Good to know
Getting a new SIM isn't too hard. I usually flash my phone back to stock though before I take in. Yeah, it's a pain, but easier than arguing with them in the store.
The last issue I had was my SIM wasn't reporting my device ID correctly. On my Verizon account page, it said that I was using a non-VZW device! This was on my Droid RAZR HD. Apparently, the SIM card got corrupted somehow. Not sure if flashing CM12 on my RAZR HD was the culprit, but the tech support guy on the phone said that the SIM card was sending back a garbled device ID and that's why it happened. He said just go into a store and get a new SIM card if I wanted or he could mail me a new one.
I just went and got a new one. Then, I upgraded to the LG G3 and got an entirely new SIM card. Too funny.
Hi guys,
I spent a lot of time trying to do this and would like to share my SUCCESSFUL efforts with you all!
First let me clarify some of the terminology. Sprint and other carriers program their hardware EPROM to their network specs and lock access to it. This lock is called the MSL code!!! [Master Software Lock?? ]. You would need this code if you want to make any changes to it.
Electronically Programmable Non Volatile (ie a fixed value chip)ROM which is also called NV Rom (NV in short) is where the carrier customization are stored and read from when the phone boots up. The unlock process changes the carrier data to be read from a SIM card instead of from programmed NV. Also note that CDMA or GSM SIMs are actually called RUIMs in the tech world (<--Wiki this). Something I learnt the hard way...
Second, this is not rom flashing (i.e putting another OS on your phone's SSD card and updating the boot records). You will be programming the phone and if you mess up mommy wouldn't be able to help you . There would be noway to unbrick your phone so check your USB cable (most common culprit) virus scanners running on your PC etc etc.. before you try this.
Please thank Vinod Nayak at Rimweb for putting this all together for us. I am in Tokyo and have followed these guides to successfully unlock my Sprint LS990 to work on AU by KDDI (albeit only with 3G speed). So if you are still reading get a cup of coffee and head on to the sites below and read on. Please note you may need to register on their forum to see the screen caps (recommended).
You need the MSL code to reprogram your phone. Follow this guide to obtain it first and keep handy.
http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/37104-lg-g3-sprint-ls990-cdmagsm/
There were other guides found on XDA that will find your phone's MSL code. Once you have this go to the next step below..
General guide on how to Root your G3 and convert it from Sprint NV to any RUIM (SIM)
http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/3...uim-in-any-cdma-phone-using-dfs-free-version/
Let me know if it worked for you!! Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you all!!
UPDATE:
I updated to CM12 based ROM 10 mins back and data works without any APN setting!!!
so...???
So, this will allow me to take my Sprint LS990 to Verizon?
If you get a sim/ruim from VZ I think you should me able to. Try it and share your experience.....
If I do this will my Sprint service stop working until I change back to NV_Only?
You can select RUIM Preffered setting instead of ruim only. That should allow the phone to default back when a ruim is not present in the slot. This is what I actually did.

This seems to be the closest thing we have to a proper carrier unlock, especially if the RUIM preferred option sticks and allows continued function on Sprint (if desired). There's a thread in another form (can't remember where) that has a method for unlocking all the phones radio bands. These 2 things combined could make a true world phone, increasing the dollar value and function.
I jacked around with DFS on my old LGOG with an embedded SIM and no bootloops, although RUIM preferred wouldn't stick, it gave me a chance to look around. Has anyone successfully unlocked their G3 to use a SIM or any CDMA carrier with this method?
I'm not ready to pull the trigger on it but am thinking about picking up a used G2 to mess around with and see what I can do.

I don't know about that. I think you're looking for a corporate PRL which allows faster speeds when roaming. I'm looking for someone who is in the US and still on Sprint but tested the RUIM preferred method with other SIMs and back to Sprint domestically to see if it works forward and backwards.

I'm wanting to try this with Ting (since it's BYOD blacklisted until August), but I'm curious about the "only 3G" issue the OP had. It wouldn't be so bad, but it would be nice to be able to revert back once August rolls around to get on the 4G. So my question is:
- Does this process change things that can be backed up / undone? (I'm guessing not, but would love to be wrong)
Incidentally, Ting is rolling out GSM support as we speak, so I may try to go that route first, though I think I might only get Edge speeds...

3G issues (LTE not working) might have something to do with the bands. Unlocking more radio bands on the qual comm is another process that is documented in other forums. Very detailed and you don't want to mess up.

I've got everything working on the stock rom using this method with my AT&T sim. (However, I have RUIM only enabled) But I can't seem to get cm12 working. Radio acts like it wants to work, but it's very slow with sms, and the dialer doesn't work at all.
I have my "Preferred network type" set to "Global." I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how you have CM12 working. Also, I've tried a couple other compatible ROMs. Do you have any other information on what you did to get it working?
Reviving an old thread....

I have a Motorola moto G XT1031 CDMA phone. I am trying to unlock it myself with the unlock code. If you have any information that would help, can you please respond ASAP, please.
Short version... I installed CM12 official. From that point forward I have been plagued with a persistent network issue. Obviously I know this is my go to group of peeps. So here I am.
As pictured below I have many more options in preferred network type then I probably should have. Also I have more APNs then I remember previously having. I'm not even sure the APNs are setup correctly. I just need to know how to revert to how it was before the CM12 install. I have sense changed the radio twice to attempt a fix and have also installed two other ROMs. One of which worked fine before the aforementioned issue. If I select from below LTE / WCDMA, I get data with no cellular service. If I select CDMA + LTE/EvDo I get cellular service with only 3G data. Please someone have an answer for this one.
Bump. I have done plenty of searching. What I did see was there are three files that I maybe missing. They are referred to in another very similar posting on how to unbrick a bad flash from N7100. That being said. Those files mentioned are not available. So I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this.
I have this exact same issue except at times I have no data whatsoever where I did before installing CM 12. Came from Alliance rom on my Note 2. Any help would be appreciated. It's very frustrating.

Changed APN, tried switching from global to LTE/CDMA to Global again but no luck. Tried all the GSM roms out there but the issue is still there. Also tried installing ZV4 bandbase. But, nothing happened. Guys, please help me with this issue. Tried replying to the respective rom threads, but got no reply.

Take a look around this section. It's fairly dead. Of the few that remain, maybe no one has had an answer for your problem. I have this device and I rarely look at anything in the section since Sprint abandoned the G3. I go to the Fulmics thread in the bigger G3 section and that's about it. I can tell you that while XDA is helpful, a pissy attitude will get you very little, if any, assistance.
Now.....on to your issue.
You say you flashed back to ZV8 using a flash tool. Was that a tot file flash with the LG program? If so, did you have working data on the stock LG ROM once that was done? If no, you have a device issue.
If yes, and data is gone once you're on a custom ROM, it's a software problem. Try flashing MVNO Slayer (just search, it's in a Moto E section I believe). That will let you choose Sprint as the carrier and will properly set the APNs.
If that doesn't get you going, I'm out of ideas.
It's not about the pissy attitude and this is not the only post I made and got no reply for days. And I'm talking about no data with non-sprint sim cards on GSM roms. I said before all this it was on CloudyG3 2.5 which is a GSM rom and data was working on E/3G/H+. Now I can see that the network does stay on HSDPA in network info and the mobile connection state is disconneted all the time. I want to use this device as GSM.
BTW thanks for replying.

I can't say for certain, but it sounds like you need to do a sim unlock.

Did that too on stock zv8 and had no luck. I can use the sim for calls, texts and from network info, I can see that the network does stay on HSDPA but the mobile network state is disconnected all the time. Before all this, I was able to use upto H+ speeds on any network. Now, it won't turn on.
