noticed OpenGL ES 2.0 is a requirement to run the recently released game angry birds, i can still run it but have problems with the graphics. was thinking that if OpenGL ES 2.0 could be used on the eris then those problems would stop. i know nothing about how it actually works but was just curious if it could happen. thanks.
I'm curious about this too...
Does anyone know? I spent a while wading through Google, but I can't find any info. It would be nice to have the textures in Angry Birds. I've had to look up cheats for a few levels because I couldn't tell where the platforms were!
Possibly but if the Q3Dimension GPU in our phone doesn't have the hardware to support OpenGL 2 features the would have to be emulated via software and would be tossed back on to the ARM processor potentially making things worse.

can we somehow, upgrade our version of OpenGL ES-CM 1.1 to OpenGL ES 2.0 ...
cause i found this ..
http://phandroid.s3.amazonaws.com/w.../03/qualcomm-mdp-msm-8660-1-5-ghz-550x366.png
and as you can see, our Optimus One is tested using openGL 2.0, and somehow i think its not a bad score.. And I'm pretty sure, our adreno 200 supports OpenGL
Also I read some threads, (I can't find them at the moment) about a developer, who succesfully applied that on nexus one ...
It would be cool to tweak our adreno 200 gpu. I did some research and it seems that there are some tweaks that could be done, including the upgrade you talk about.
Just that someone have to deal with this, and the overall performance wouldn't justify the effort...
Well if there is a small benefit, it should be done... but as I'm a noob when it comes to android, i just wanted to ask the seniors, if it can be done, theoretically and practically, and of course, arose their will to maybe try doing that
Anyone else notice the nvidia nouveau gpu driver reports back as opengl es 2.0 where as the Intel one reports back as opengl es 3.0 it's my understanding 3.2 will be the last version before vulkan.
Pfff...my GTX 960 is not even detected in the current beta.
Oh well
Nvidia graphics suck for open source drivers. Intel is very good at keeping up to date with open source drivers. Which is why Intel reports newer drivers then Nvidia.
Yeah makes me wonder if Nvidia users aren't better off running it in a VM.
I tried the PPSSPP Vulcan function and I think it is very good. It's a little unstable but much more fps. If the developer still improves it, it will be excellent.

Vulcan def out performed
So i flashed aosp extended, dot os, pixel experience and havoc os till now on my phone(oreo version). But the thing is, when you go to the android easter egg which is an octopus, if you try to move it , it will like freeze for a second and then move smoothly. That's exactly how every game or maybe pubg only runs like that. There are one second stutters in-game and then the game runs smoothly. Overclocking hasnt helped at all in this. I've tried franco, elctrablue and stormguard kernel and none of them fix the issue. So is there any solution to this problem or maybe the phone's hardware isnt powerful enough for pubg.TIA:laugh::good:
I got redmi note 4 3/32 variant and I run pubg in the highest settings possible without gfx tool using extreme kernel ( 2.7 GHz cpu overclock with 1.1 GHz GPU overclock ) on havoc 2.0 (pie).
Will it not harm your device if you overclock it by 2700 ghz? And what about the battery life?
