So, I've been fiddling with my phone (Rooted, of course, before anyone asks), and I decided to change my Boot animation. After making my own gif and using Bhoot to make it into a boot animation, I wasn't very satisfied, as I didn't want it to loop. I tried messing with it and got it to where it should SUPPOSEDLY play the main animation once, and loop a second animation (Which consists of only one frame). However, whenever I start my phone, I just get a black screen, which after some time, takes me to my lock screen.

I would post a link to my file, which would make things so much easier, but this forum won't let me for another 9 posts. Can I just win for once today?

I have read much of the splash screen thread, but still have some questions. It seems as though there are a lot of different splash screens based on where in the startup process you are. I have never managed to change the Energy ROM splash screen I once installed, and it shows at the very beginning when I start the machine. This I installed through "Custom_RUU". Recently I installed "silentP Splash Screen" through a cab and that only put a picture up later in the startup screen, but did not change the Energy ROM splash screen in the beginning.
I would like to have the "silentP Splash Screen" as my only splash screen and to have it shown in the very beginning. How can I do this?
'splash.nb' Something you have to flash to your ROM.
there is only one "splash screen" this is the first one you see when u switch ur fone on that says touch pro ... this is stored on the devices ROM so to replace it, a new one has to be flashed, the other 2 the animated HTC one can be easly replaced by replacing the Animated.gif file in the windows directory the same goes for the windows loading screen, just replace welcomehead.192 and to replace the sound just replace BootUpHTC.wav
The very very 1st image has to be burnt into your phone similar to burning a ROM. Except that it only replaces the Splash Screen.
This link has a bunch of prebuilt splash screen to choose from.

I also built like 8 of them one day when I was bored.

I think I have at least a direction on figuring out the boot animation getting stuck and looping ??
I was tweaking my boost animation and it "did it" on me. started looping. the machine is actually booted by sitting another S3 next to it and duplicating key pressed I could figure out where to touch to reboot for example.
this animation worked FINE the only change between working and not working was the FPS in the desc file.
the 10fps is the one that loops
20fps 15fps 12 fps and 8 fps all work fine. no loop issues. JUST the 10fps.
I tried rezipping it thinking that was the issue (bad file) but no, it still gets stuck. ONLY that one (I did not try 9 and 11 fps)
obviously I now use 8fps but maybe someone can use this info to figure out whats going on ?
Here is the 10fps file (to make it work just change the 10 to some other number like 08 or 12 in the txt file)
to get out of the loop pull the battery boot to recovery and wipe cache (that is all you need to wipe)
this will let you boot up ONE TIME so make sure you change the boot animation or you have to do the wipe cache again.

I've been trying for hours now to get this simple animation to work, I swear I have everything right. I've tried different resolutions, numberings, fps, etc but everytime all I get is ether a black screen till boot is complete or an android boot animation.
would anyone care to take a look and tell me whats wrong? Its only 8 frames long, by 2 folders, could that be it?

Just add the . back to the link, I cant post links because I'm under 10 posts but without outside links or a way to attach, the best I can get is info I've already read over and over all over the web.
Edit: I guess I should mention that I am rooted and running Cyanogenmod 11 on an LG Optimus G (E973). Root isnt a problem and Cyanogenmod's images for their boot animation are jpgs as well.
After hearing that our watches weren't gonna get Oreo, I decided to go ahead and root mine. After installing Magisk, everything is working great. I even created myself a custom boot animation. Unfortunately, even though I think I've done everything right, my boot animation only plays part 0.

Video link if it fails to play in the post.
Here is my desc.txt:
Code:

I've attached the boot animation, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
HI all,
Did anyone figure out a way to apply a customer boot animation since we can't simply go an change the bootanimation.zip file and so far all magisk modules i tried simply don't work.
Unless you have a fairly short animation, by the time it thinks of getting moving you've already booted into the home screen. In the past I created a couple of custom boot animations. I stopped using them when I chose to use rooted stock firmware instead of custom ROMs. As a result I haven't searched for a long time for a replacement boot animation: not that I need to given I still have my boot animations stored on a HDD.
it is a short one well kinda, wanted to put the nokia handshake as the bootanimation for fun but couldn't figure out how to actually do it due to android 13 read only limitations and i think the modules i tried didn't work due to the pixel now having a dynamic animation not quite sure, seems like its not worth it anymore
