rollback from 140 to 130 - Honor 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated to 140 yesterday. If I want to go back to 130, can I them use the update.zip via local update that contains the whole firmware for 130? I already have it on my sd card...

first, why do you want to downgrade to 130, the 140 fixed many bugs present in the 130

[Q] Any way to "force" update to 1.4.3 after disabling updates?

I have the opposite problem to many of you guys. Original 16g Nook Tablet running stock 1.4.0, rooted the week I bought it back in Nov '11. I've (successfully) blocked OTA updates since then using a multitude of methods including the registry hack (change from auto to manual, change version number to 9.9.9) plus I played around with the NT Hidden Settings app and disabled OTA updates from there also.
Now I actually want to update to 1.4.3 since it's the end of the line final update to NT, and I can't seem to make it happen. I downloaded the ZIP file from B&N support page and put it where the instructions said (top level directory as visible from computer via USB). I reverted my registry hacks correctly I assume as it didn't cause brick or bootloop problems. I also reverted the NT Hidden Settings OTA block.
I know it needs to sleep for awhile before it loads the update, but it had a nice sleep overnight and I'm still on 1.4.0 and still have root. Is it possible to flash the update via recovery from the SD card? Any other way to force the update? Does it need to be renamed from nooktablet_1_4_3_update.zip to ACCLAIM_UPDATE.ZIP or something like that?

If you want repartition and going back to 1.42 then use that.

If you rooted your tablet you don't need to update to 1.4.3. No difference if you're using go launcher as your main screen.

nooktablet_1_4_3_update.zip in original form cannot be installed with non-stock recovery programs such as CWM or TWRP. The various "Restore to Stock 1.4.2" methods/tools make use of a version of the stock 1.4.2 update.zip that was specially "repackaged" so as to be flash-able by these tools.
Perhaps you should consider a two-step process: first restore your NT to stock 1.4.2 using one of the "Restore to Stock 1.4.2" methods/tools (e.g., flash_stock_1.4.2.zip at https://github.com/succulent/acclaim_recovery_sdcard), then upgrade to 1.4.3 using BN's regular upgrade process.

Why is Asphalt 8 taking up so much space?

I have a Moto X 16GB with Asphalt 8. I tried to install the 1.50 update today but it didn't install with error that said insufficient space. It now takes up 2.8 GB while it used to take up 1.4 GB and it hasn't even updated. My hunch is that it kept the APK file but didn't install it. Is there anyway I can get rid of that APK file?
P.S. I have a rooted phone but write protection is still enabled.

i have upgraded if u do ota it wont break the root as its just ota , you can also do complete firmware then I am not sur e
for complete firmware:
503L
http://www.emui.com/nsp/geturl.php?path=7D-503L_EMUI3.0_Android4.4_V100R002C208B009.zip&rid=963
501u
http://www.emui.com/nsp/geturl.php?path=7D-501u_EMUI3.0_Android4.4_V100R002C208B009.zip&rid=962
i have read in the chinese forums that this version is supposed to be the one that can retain user data when upgrading from EMUI 2.3, however problems seem to exist after flashing (dark screen when camera is launched, the pull down notification menu stopping midway etc) and Huawei ended up suggesting wiping system / user data to solve them, kinda defeats the purpose. anyway, ymmv.
BTW, does anyone know how to get rid of the update prompt? It keeps nagging me to update.
In going from R001C233B021 to R002C208B009 on the 7D-501u with the OTA update, will it change the dpi from 320 to 400? If so, I'm not upgrading.

you can manually change at will the dpi after updating, by modifiyng buildprop if rooted. Or with adb commands if non rooted.
Check for (or open up yourself) a devoted DPI change thread of this forum, if you want to know more about it.
i was also pushed B009.
btw im from singapore using starhub and B008 chinese rom.
updating now.. excites much!

As far as I can tell from the other threads, changing the dpi to 320 breaks other stuff. Also some of my apps won't
work with root or with root cloak. There's no way I'm doing an upgrade that I know will break stuff rather than fix stuff, just for a slightly newer version of Android. My battery icon is already white anyway.

It Is same android version like 320 dpi kitkat!
I am in China but checking for updates tells me there is no update (I'm on 2.2). So perhaps this is still not the build intended for general release.
OK, it is now showing as available as an OTA today BUT trying to download it always ends in failure. Perhaps loads of other people are trying to download it at the same time....
Just download it from the EMUI page.
I waited for the OTA, hoping that it would not wipe the device (unlike the emui page download version?).
After taking 8 hours to download, it finally tells me it will wipe my personal data. What kind of stupid upgrade is this? No other brand of Android phone I have ever owned has wiped data on upgrading from one version to another. Very disappointing. Huawei, you must do better than this if you expect people to buy your phones more than once.
It did not wipe mine.
I just installed it, and wished I hadn't. ALL paid for apps were wiped. Other apps were also deleted. I can no longer connect to Google services (Play store, Gmail, etc). What a pile of rubbish. An OTA update shouldn't do this kind of thing. This is my first, and last, Huawei phone. Nice hardware, shame about the software.

OpenGapps Pico 7.1 changes

Hi, from last couple of days OpenGapps files are changing almost daily. Hope it's Normal. Also, ARM-7.1-Pico file was 77 mb yesterday. Today it's 124 Mb. Is it Normal?
I think so, I didn't find any noticeable differences, I had tried both the sizes
