Hi,
I am using a custom ROM on my Moto E 2014(condor). after flashing a Marshmallow ROM, it seems I cannot transfer files from the PC to the phone using ADB. I can see the folders in both Internal as well as external SD card memory when I choose MTP as option for ADB, but as I try to copy a .zip file I get the error "The device has either stopped responding or is disconnected".
I have tried the following steps
1. inserting the USB cable to another USB port.
2. tried to copy to phone's internal memory.
3. re-chose MTP as ADB option.
4. tried to transfer files using PTP as ADB option.
I am running cyanpop v4.5 based on android 6.0.1_r3 and my laptop is on windows 10.
I have been able to do this operation very smoothly before for all lollipop ROMs.
I have Motorola Device Manager installed.
Thanks. :good:
Seems like a rom problem.
Haven't tried that rom yet. I'm gonna flash it today and report back.
Edit : Maybe Rom specific error. Working fine in CyanPop 4.7

not a rom problem.. maybe some driver issue.. works fine some times and others doesn't.
I transferred files after a days gap through USB without any problem on the same rom.
I have checked few MM roms and these type of issues are seen while usimg SD card as internal storage.

Hey guys,
I have my Galaxy Tab 10.1 a few years now and it's still working great! I've rooted it many times and installed many custom roms on it. So I am very familiar with Odin, clockworkmod etc. Today, I decided to root my tab again to install a custom rom. So first things first, I installed the usb driver for my tab (GT-P7510), it's the Samsung Mobile Usb Driver for mobile phones version 1.4.8.0. After installing the driver I plugged in my tablet but nothing happend, no sound from my PC no new hardware found box, nothing. So I checked the device manager and I don't see anything there, no android adb, no GT-P7510, etc. The computer just doesn't recognize the tab. I tried reinstalling the drivers, rebooting the tablet and the PC, I did a factory reset, wiped cache, etc. Nothing worked. The only 2 things I notice is the charger/usb cable connected sound on my tablet and there's a weird red cross through the battery icon on the lower right side of my screen. Does anyone know if this is a known problem or how to solve it?
Model: GT-P7510 [P4 WIFI]
Android Version: Stock 4.0.4
[EDIT]: I managed to root the tab without the PC using the Iroot app and then I flashed TWRP and with TWRP I flashed Android 5.0. So now I am on Android 5.0!
Thanks!
Is USB debugging on or off, under Settings / Developer options? Try toggling that first.

Thanks for your reply!!
I forgot to mention that I also tried toggling that on and off several times but that also didn't work. However, I managed to root the tab without PC and I installed android 5.0 and its working great! What I also noticed is that there no longer is a red cross through the battery icon when charging but still no USB connection :/

Good thing you could flash I guess you first copied the files you needed to an external SD / USB stick, and then copied those files to the internal storage on the tablet itself?
You could try now under Android 5 is to toggle the same option again in the settings.
Another option is in the Recovery: under mounts and storage, you could try to mount the sdcard / partitions, while connected to your PC. Although you should at least have some confirmation of a connection with the PC, under Windows Device Manager. But it never hurts to try.

Thanks! Will try all the options you mentioned and I'll post whether is works or not!
I solved that issue on mine by replacing the cord. the 30pin cord with these tabs is god awful.
I'm not sure whether I'm having hardware issues, but USB OTG function doesn't seem to work when I'm trying to connect a flash drive to my phone (XT1521). I've tried this on both CM13 (August Nightlies onwards) and RR 5.7.4. Previously on stock rom (6.0), USB OTG works okay when it comes to flash drives. Nowadays, my phone doesn't seem to detect flash drives, though it could detect other input devices, such as mouse. Please note that the flash drives are using FAT format. Is there anyone who's having the same problem? I'm really wondering whether this is an issue with CM-based ROMS for Surnia, or it's just my phone. Any helpful info would truly be appreciated.
well, Ive used cm13 and have been able to connect the pendrive using otg and was able to view the files. Try this=>
download es file explorer and then slide for the side menu and u will find a tab named "local", click on it and u will find the usb device connected. Click on the name of the usb drive and u will be to access it..
Note: Ive tried numerous apps but none except es file explorer could detect the usb device.

I've just downloaded ES File Explorer and did what you've just said. Sadly, there's nothing. :'( I do see the point of using ES, as some USB Drives seem to be rather picky with file explorers, even with my Xperia M back in the days. Is there any prompt appearing in your notifications drawer when you plug in your drive? I get nothing. ?

I was always able to access my USB in CM-Based ROMs though ES File Explorer.
I have tried to revert back my Oneplus from Nougat based ROM and custom kernel to the last Oxygen OS. I am using TWRP 3.1.1-0. I have downloaded and transferred the zip file containing Oxygen OS to the Downloads section and I have wiped, the cache and the system partition without making a backup and when I have tried to install the Oxygen OS it reports that: "Updater process ended with ERROR:7. Error installing zip file" . I have connected the phone to an USB cable but it doesn't appear as an external drive in My Computer so I am unable to transfer some old backup I have on my PC. I have tried to boot into bootloader and execute adb devices, but it is not recognized there as well. As a matter of fact when I have booted into the bootloader my PC installed some drivers and now the phone appears in Devices and Printers and is listed as Android as Unspecified category, but not present again under My Computer. Is this normal? What can I do to recover my device? How can I transfer some files between my PC and the phone?
Hello!
I have recently bought this phone with installed custom ROM and I wanted to install another one. And then I downloaded the ROM and formatted the phone from TWRP and I just connected it to the PC and there was nothing.. I searched for hours I tried so many adb drivers, usb drivers, etc and I couldn't detect the phone in the ADB powershell nor transfer any files. The only progress I managed to do is side loading it.. The ADB detected it and then I tried adb push (the exact name of the file) /sdcard and after that (error: closed) appeared.. I think the main reason is because before I formatted the phone I didn't allow the usb debuging but apparently you can't allow it from the recovery... I don't have any type-c OTGs laying around.. How in the world am I supposed to transfer the ROM to my phone? Please help me! Thank you!

Okey, I just managed to use adb push without side loading just in the twrp and I don't know how to delete the post so excuse me for the spam!
Heyyo, I'm the maintainer of official builds of TWRP for the LeEco Le Max 2.
Usually for TWRP it can sometimes mess up USB mode if the device is plugged into a PC before it fully boots to TWRP.
Windows for some reason messes up the driver install for MTP as well. Usually of this happened you will need to manually go into device manager and select update driver on it and manually select the driver to install like this:

File transfer to pc (windows 10) doesn't work with android 11 based rom (Only sounds when connect usb cable to pc and click on file tranfer option in usb preference in phone but Device doesn't show in windows file explorer). When I select file transfer in usb preference. It doesn't work, but other option in usb preference like ptp, usb tethering, charging work.
I reverted back to android 10 and checked, it again worked. Then I again flashed this Rom but file transfer with usb doesn't work.
I think it is a problem or bug with android 11.
If any guy has it's solution, plz tell.

- GPS is bad , not fixing at all
- drainage a little over 20% overnight
- a bit laggy for my taste.

~ recommended if u want A11, else stick with A10
