Hi.
I have a problem with my galaxy S2. I always had the CM 12.1 Nightly ROM on my device and always update it without any problems. After a SIM issue I reset default settings of my device and then update to the 12.1-20151230-NIGHTLY-i9100, I have Google Play but I can't log-in my Google account and also when I turn on the phone after resetting the parameters don't gave me the chance to get into my account. So I downloaded Gapps and put-it in the SD card but when i try to access to the recovery mode (Holding the power button and volume +) the phone just start normally but I want to enter to the recovery mode.
Here is a copy of a free app (available on playstore) that you can use to boot to recovery/download mode straight from the OS........no button combo needed...
The only prerequisite is a rooted device....

Just select the reboot option, and you will see 4 further options one of which is 'recovery'.......

Hi Friends,
My friend has K-TOUCH A11 android smartphone running Gingerbread. He forgot his pattern lock and tried entering google login and password. Nothing helps, still showing google login screen when starting the phone.
I decided to get into Android System Recovery and try factory reset.
1. This phone has three touch buttons (Home, Back, Menu) and a Power button but no volume or camera buttons. No way to get into recovery.
2. I tried adb reboot recovery and it got me into Android System Recovery (3e). The real issue starts here: There is no way to select options in recovery. If I touch menu button in restarts phone to normal mode (that is google login screen).
Please help me to reset factory settings.. Thanks in Advance.:
I had been testing several ROMs while I saw an unofficial Cyanogenmod 11 thread. There was an available zip for pepper as well. I used Cyanogenmod 8 then. So I rebooted into recovery and flashed.
I then wanted to flash gapps, so I enabled recovery reboot in the developer options in the settings, I pressed the power button and I chose to reboot into recovery.
The phone just reboots normally.
Please note that root access has not been destroyed, I can access files that require root, it is just that the recovery reboot does not work, and now I am stuck with a ROM that I just wanted for testing purposes. Didn't expect that it would lock me in
Any help appreciated.
Many cm11 roms fail to reboot to recovery, but you can just reboot normally and press volume up .(or down, it's the higher one if phone is vertical) button a few times until it goes to recovery. This is manual system and works as long as you still have the recovery.

You saved me
Up button solved it
I'm posting the whole process for anyone having the same issue:
1) Enable Developer mode by clicking 5 times in the Build info under About phone in the settings.
2) Go in there and enable advanced reboot
3) Select advanced reboot and while the phone opens, hold Volume UP.
Now you are into recovery mode. Without selecting recovery reboot it didn't work (steps 1, 2)
I have managed to "soft brick" my phone and I basically have bootloop where nothing except turning off from boot window is functional.
Volume Up/Down + Home + Power doesnt work. Aka recovery mode or neither Download mode.
At the moment I use ODIN program in computer.
The question is, that is there an alternative way to access in Download mode. I was told face to face that other devices have an schematic when/where cable and buttons should be pushed down.
At the moment I am waiting for JIG USB device that should allow bricked phone automatic access to Download mode. Then use ODIN to Flash ROM to reset everything.
Rooting was done by SuperSu program which also lead to brick after wrong update option. (Used HTC update)
Everything is OK.
The problem was that I was trying to go download and recovery mode after I had runned the system once before.
It should not be forgotten that button combination works only when everything starts from 0. Remove the battery and then press the buttons.
Edit: I figured this out... I had to hold volume up and down at the same time while powering up. Also the phone needs to be unplugged. IF its plugged in it will go to Download mode instead of recovery.
Hello,
I recently Went from the stock ATT rom to CM 10.2, and then to Omni.
I can not access CWM recovery by powering the phone on while holding volume up... Ive also tried holding the soft home key.
The only way I can get into recovery is to open ROM manager and choose reboot to recovery. This scares me because if my rom goes haywire I may not have any way to get back into the recovery.
I have already tried re flashing CWM
any ideas?
Quick Boot
You can download the app "Quick Boot" from the Play Store, which has the option to reset into recovery (and many other options)
Hello
I want to flash a stock firmware to my P7500 rooted device. When I turn the device off and then press volume down+power to get into recovery mode, the device does not turn on at all. It turns on normally when I press the power button alone but I cant get into recovery mode. I tried installing boot droid to get the device to reboot into recovery mode, but the device did not reboot at all. I noticed that the app didn't ask for root permission and is not listed in superuser app list. I tried to install another superuser app and that new app said I need to update SU binary but I couldn't because I have to get into recovery mode. I made a factory reset and the problem persists.
any suggestions?
Thank you
