....if so, would it be ok to install it over and OB1 rom?
There is a thread on how to install OF6 without a pc in the general section. Modem is in there. Also, I had to nandroid back to twisted lollipop V7 because I forgot something and it worked with the modem so yes it does worked with modem and bootloader installed.
Hello everybody
I have a few questions regarding my phone and I hope you can help me solve them. I have the VS985 and I had it on 35b Lollipop 5.1.1 I was able to root it but then I realized there's no custom recovery for it yet, I was planning to try skydragon, so I downgraded using the TOT method to 10, so far so good, nonetheless, in order for me to try to install that ROM I read that I had to have the 35b boostack, so I installed the xdabbeb_vs98535b_bootstack.zip file, TWRP 2.8.7.0 says that installs successfully, I restart the phone but when I go to baseband says unknown and sure enough I can't install skydragon or cm13 because it says I don't have the 35b baseband.
I've tried the 24b, 23c and 12b modems, all get me baseband unknown and get no signal on Tmobile. The TOT I used was LG G3 VS985 10B_03 Stock TOT. I've been looking online and everybody says just flash the baseband on TWRP and voila! but not my case, I can flash it but doesn't work.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Hello!
It is incorrect that you have to have the 35B bootstack to be on SkyDragon (same with JasmineROM). The only time it's a must is if you want to use Advanced Calling, or just plain want to use the latest modem. SkyDragon and JasmineROM contain several partitions from 24B. Flashing the ROM after the bootstack is what caused the issue, because critical partitions in the 35B bootstack were overwritten by their 24B counterparts that are in the ROM.
If you want the 35B bootstack, then you need to flash that after having flashed SkyDragon.

Hello there!
So let me explain a bit more about my situation, I currently have 4.4.2 stock 10b I downgraded from 35b 5.1.1. I rooted the phone and installed TWRP but when I try to flash CM 12.1 or CM 13, I mentioned skydragon but my mistake is CM what I want to flash, I always get the error that the modem isn't the right one, I've tried with several modems and same error. What can I do install CM?
Thank you

Either flash the 23C or 24B modem before flashing CM12.1/13. The 24B bootstack contains the 24B modem so you can flash that before trying to flash CM.
Edit: I haven't tried CM12.1 in a long time, and I've never tried CM13 so this is based only on old information which was definitely true at one time, at least for CM12.1. Repeat, no personal experience with CM13. I only chimed in at the mention of SkyDragon.

Hey there!
Thank you for your help! Well this I what I've tried, I restored to 10b using TOT I installed all modems, 12b, 23c, 24b and 35b and all of them are giving me unknown baseband afterwards, I get no signal, so I figured I'll install CM on top, but guess what? it always gives me the error that the baseband isn't the right one. I'm not trying to restore to 10b by using the KDZ method and then I'll install the modem. I don't know what is going on.
Thank you for helping on this.
P.D. I'll try skydragon to see what happens, I didn't install it because I read gives no data on Tmobile.

Hello! I have an update
So this is what I did, I downloaded SkyDragon V6.0.2 and installed on the 10b vesion and it worked just fine, I didn't want to risk to try to flash CM anymore but so far everything is working! even data on roaming, I'm currently in Canada and the Telus network is flying, over 70mb on download, as a matter of fact, I never seen those speeds in the US, at least where I live.
I'm sure if I flash CM from TWRP it will work because I'm using the 35b baseband.
Thank you all for your help!
Merry Christmas and Happy 2016!

Cool, glad you got what you need. You're welcome!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So I went back to stock and took all of the official updates. Can I root and flash M Roms again?
Sent from my VS985 4G using XDA-Developers mobile app
In the future, please post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a moderator to move this thread.
The easiest way to be on the latest official but rooted stock Marshmallow ROM is to flash the 10B TOT using the .DLL that's extracted from the 35B KDZ, the root with the Stump app and put TWRP on with TWRP Manager from the Play Store, then flash @xdabbeb 's stock 47A firmware ROM and his 35B Bootstack, and any optional debloat zips in the third post of his 47A ROM thread.
Any other way on 35B and higher is just really complicated, involves suspicious rooting apps that only give you temporary root anyway and you can brick doing what you need to in order to have TWRP if you want, requiring you to use the TOT method to recover so it's easiest to just use the TOT to begin with.
I am about to root my LG G3 that's running VS98510B. It is unlocked, so will rooting it make the network limited to Verizon again?
Please in the future post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a moderator to move this thread.
All Verizon devices aren't SIM locked, and rooting doesn't affect that.
Just in case you don't already know, use the Stump app here on XDA to root using the brute force option, then use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to install TWRP. Rooting on higher than 10B gets more complicated, as does putting TWRP on higher than 12B.

Would it be okay to TWRP to flash VS98547A after I root?
Sorry for starting this thread in the wrong section.

Yes, you can flash any ROM you want. Just from TWRP, wipe Cache, Dalvik/ART and Data, flash @xdabbeb 's 47A stock pre-rooted firmware and his 35B Bootstack (the Bootstack is from his VS985 v2.0 ROM thread). Don't wipe after flashing the ROM or you could lose root, although if you do, you can dirty flash the ROM to get root back. There's also optional debloat zips in the third post of his 47A firmware thread if you like.
No problem mate!

That answer is in the thread I told you where the Bootstacks are.
Hello guys,
I am currently on LOS and planning to go back to stock ROM.
LOS was flashed over the downgraded firmware necessary to unlock the bootloader.
Would it be advisable to flash the latest stock over it or should I rather go back to the downgraded ROM and upgrade it through OTAs? Are there any partitions flashed through OTA that would be otherwise missed by TWRP?
Also, can anyone recommend a debloated, optimized Android 8 ROM for this phone?
Thank you for your time!

There are TWRP flashable zips you can use.
See the H930 KDZ thread for instructions on how to flash them.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/h930-lg-v30-european-market-h930-t3779076
Be sure to use the stable TWRP linked in the WTF thread, not the new beta experimental TWRP listed elsewhere.

Quick question please, are the ROMs in your thread upgradable through ota should LG release one?
I noticed you mentioned after each build that they're not meant to be upgraded.
I may have a case of the stupids here but does it mean that once you flash one of them you're stuck on that version?
PS thanks a lot for taking the time to answer these questions. I appreciate your help a lot ^^
