I think I bricked my device big time in an effort to return to stock. I flashed 4.5.141 and later got a system update while bootloader was unlocked. I got Failed to boot 4.
Later, I tried to relfash the same 4.5.141 sbf and it failed to flash and I got "Failed to boot 1".
Now, I thought I will try to flash again using RSD lite and tried to get into RSD Mode using Vol Down+Power. I am supposed to see options to navigate to RSD and press Vol Up. The first option appears for half a second and the screen turns off.
I am not sure what this behavior is. However, it stays on if battery is low. It stays in NV Flash mode with a message "Battery too low... blah"
I tried to put into fastboot mode and did "fastboot reboot-bootloader". It rebooted but it does not get into RSD Lite mode. It just shows Failed to boot 1. I know how to fix Failed to Boot 1 issue. But this failure to enter RSD mode is killing..
Any one encountered this? Any help here please?
I got out of this problem by using sbf_flash and unlocked the bootloader (with pudding one). That unlocked my bootloader and my Vol Down+Power menu was accessible. And, I went to recovery, performed a wipe and rebooted.
Voila.. It booted very well. I am now in the latest stock. I went all the way from 2.3.6->4.1->4.4.4->Mokee 5.0 and then back to sweet old stock 2.3.6.
My experience with Atrix had been awesome from 2013 where i installed CM 10. It is a great phone and now it works as a music player for me.

Hello,
I have a rooted and BL unlocked atrix.
Tried to use rom manager to install CWM. Tried to go into recovery but now it is saying: "Failed to boot 2" and under that "Starting RSD mode".
I have pulled battery and no luck.
Please help
Well cant enter fastboot either. Was going to try to flash tenfar's CWM but when i hold down the power and vol down key it it displays the before mentioned error and turns the phone off a millisecond later.
Good news however is that RSD still picks up the phone. I will go home and try to flash the pudding sdf again and see if i can get it to boot up that way. If anyone else has any ideas, let me know please.
flashed pudding using rsd lite and it booted up. Lost root but apps stayed.
Hello, im coming from Defy to Atrix, mine is Brazilian 2.3.6 Retail, and just unlocked the bootloader using Bell SBF. After installing RomRacer CWM (recovery-atrix5.img) using the fastboot method, my phone went in a continuous bootloop. Fastboot mode shows me an error something like FAILED TO EXECUTE COMMAND %e (a0cccx) that repeats and scrolls down the screen in red lines. I have to pull battery to stop this. RSD mode reboots the phone. Android Recovery shows me "Entering Android Recovery Mode" and after that phone hangs. To have the things worse, battery drained down.
After charging the battery using an universal charger, phone started, but when Android loaded, it hanged everything. I had to pull the battery. After that, phone went in bootloop again. I got into fastboot, wiped everything. After that i was able to get into Android Recovery, wiped everything again and tried to start the system, no luck. It went in bootloop again and the message in fastboot mode came on again.
One more point is, when the battery in on the phone, the phone is getting really hot.
I was using the phone for about 5 hours before messing the whole thing up, if i have it working again, i will stick with original firmware. No more customizing on this Atrix as long as its really easy to hardbrick. Im afraid that i did this to mine.
Defy is almost impossible to hardbrick. And its bootloader is locked. I see no goodness on having a phone that is that easy to kill... Please help me................
look into flashing an sbf on your atrix. puts it back to stock firmware.
if youre only soft bricked this will fix it. or try going to android recovery ( if it still has the original) and do a factory data wipe.
hope i helped!
I recommend you to download again RomRacer CWM
enter fastboot mode and flash again CWM (in case your download is corrupt)
type "fastboot devices" Press Enter.
type "fastboot erase recovery" Press Enter.
type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-atrix5.img"
if this didnt fix it
perform a full fastboot wipe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421261
and then try to reflash the recovery. if u cant fix it this way flash a sfb!
Hello everyone.
I own Motorola Atrix 4g AT&T with 2.3.4 / 4.5.91 Build.
I have read every single thread about Unlocking the bootloader yet I still cannot do it.
First I tried directly the fastboot unlock command for unlocking it but I had an error saying that OEM Unlock is not implemented. Thats OK since the stock bootloader isnt unlockable. So I downloaded RSD Lite as well as the two SBF files (the small pudding and the huge pudding (full version) of AT&T unlockable/pre root) Here is where I got stuck! I have the drivers properly installed and I tried both Windows7 and WindowsXP still i cant get past the boot logo. Here is the situation.
I connect the Phone in RSD Mode. In RSD Lite it shows as NS Flash Olympus and stays connected. When I load the SBF file and press start it gets to 100%. Then phone reboots and RSD Lites says that its waiting for phone to re-enumeration and after a while it gets the error message: Phone[0000]: Phone did not re-enumerate after RAM-downloader was sent.. Phone is still stuck on the Moto Logo untill I remove the battery. If I remove the battery Phone starts.
Am I missing something?
As far as I remember, once you flash pudding the phone will indeed seem unusable. Immediately after flashing pudding you need to go into fastboot and run the oem unlock commands, then you need to flash a custom recovery, then boot into recovery and flash a custom ROM. You miss any of these steps and the phone will very likely not boot.

The problem is that i cannot flash pudding since I get an error message after the extracting process when the phone is suppose to reboot and flash itself. It just reboots and stays with Motorola logo (RSD Lites gives me the error) and phone freezes untill I remove battery. After that when I power on the phone it just loads normally.
So the problem is that I cannot flash pudding.... simply because phone dosnt reenumerate after reboot....
Bump ...
I want to add that the phone dosnt have backlight in boot menus (ak. background light is turned off but i can still see the options in boot menus)
Also I am not able to install OTA Updates I get a triangle on the screen and phone boots into os with failed to update message.
Else phone is fully functional. I havnet done anything except rooting the phone and doing the tethering and webtop over hdmi hack.

Try this automated tool. There are several options to choose from.

So I was playing around with Jelly Bean on my RAZR MAXX and I believe I ended up soft bricking the device. I know that took all of 12 hrs. Anyways how can I fix this?
Edit: I went into the system files to install a different gallery app and eventually when I restarted my phone I got the "encryption unsuccessful" message and asked me to do a factory reset, let's just say that didn't go well it kept popping up, but I am able to get to the fastboot menu.
You're kind of in a pickle right now, then.
DON'T go trying this please, but I believe on ICS, you could fastboot back and have it fail, and then use the update.zip or something like that? I'd go ask Mattlgroff. He may be able to hook you up with an UnstuckJB type deal or something.
I'm pretty much stuck in flashboot
Thanks, all the screen says is:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
0A.74
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode- first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED, Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Last night I tried to flash ICS with RSD Lite but it failed when it tried to flash the boot.img (I know bad idea)
Any thoughts?

I had a softbrick boot loop.
Flast boot .211 ICS. Then go back into stock recovery. Attempt to install the update. It will fail with a status 7. Wipe cache and factory reset. Install the update again. Worked for me. Unfortunately you will lose root access. No knowing when we will be able to get it back as none of the current methods work.

See my issue is when I try to fast boot .211 ICS it fails at the boot image
I am going to make aflashable zip so you can use it on 2. system and don't loose the ability to downgrade.
Fixed (for the most part)
So I lost my root and for some reason every time I turn off the phone and restart it brings up the AP Fastboot menu, but I just choose the option to boot normally. Thanks for all the help everyone priddyma's method worked even though the .211 ICS boot image failed.
Hello,
I am having a similar problem with the same error.
I am on Jellybean and was trying to downgrade by to ICS.
and I guess I corrupted the OS from what what I understand.
need some help getting out of this. Thanks in Advance.
I have already tried the following:
1. clear the cache.
2. full wipe and restore
EDIT: NVM all I had to do is select normal boot and it booted up normally.
EDIT2 : I can get past the error screen but whenever I reboot the error screen reappears.
I had JB 4.1.2 on my Razr (Verizon/Motorola stock build).
The phone was rooted but bootloader was untouched.
I used FontChanger to change a secondary font, and upon rebooting it would not get beyond a point in the bootup animation.
A factory reset did not yield success.
There is no 'safe mode' option...
Is there a way to download a zip file to the external SD card and use recovery mode to flash the original ROM?
Thanks!
You don't have safe strap or bootmenu installed?
Sent from my XT910 using xda premium
Go into fastboot mode and use this: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...xt912-jellybean-windows-mac-linux-all-in-one/

Might wanna Try RSDLITE
here's tutorial:
I've tried all that and more.
RSD Lite and finding a ROM (SPYDER) ultimately fails because AP Fastboot states "Phone is LOCKED" and status code 0. To my knowledge, the bootloader can't be broken for the original Razr Maxx, so I have to find a way to get around that...
"AP fastboot flash mode (0) Recipe Failure)"
I did see the qe code go from 1/1 to 0/1 while flashing ROMs with RSD Lite, though...
I did re-flash the original Motorola 98.72.8 JB upgrade via Recovery Mode and using the phone's "install upg from external drive", which I could not do in an earlier attempt, but when rebooting that AP fastboot lock screen appeared right away. Erasing the cache partition then doing a factory reset.
AP fastboot flash mode is v0.77.
RSD Lite is v6.1.5.
what else can I try, if anything?
Thanks!
UPDATE
Oh, I held down all 3 buttons and did another power-up, to get around the AP Fastboot lock screen that keeps showing up - this time I selected "boot normally" -- it is booting into the OS and I am moving forward.
If I reboot again, but if I don't do the three-button salute at the time of powerup, I get the "LOCKED" fastboot screen again. Doing the 3-finger salute and going into 'boot normal' gets around the LOCKED error and all becomes well. Should I count my blessings, as I'll be ditching this phone in a couple months, or should I go for the gold and try to fix this remaining hiccup?
And is it possible to get the qe code back to 0/0?
Thanks!

I'd honestly try fixing it, as that'd be a pain in the ass every boot. Did you have plenty of battery when you tried AP Fastboot mode? Being under 15% will cause any effort to flash to fail.
