Changing D855 (international) into F400 (Korea) build.prop edits - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Originally I placed a Q&A in the G3 section, but I gotno replies, so hoping someone here will see it and help me,
So people, I have a d855 which i've just updated to MM nice............. Only issue is that I cant seem to get the old buil.prop edits to make it display Korean Dialer and Weather, Accuweather is useless in Korea and Kweather servers much more information.
On LL you could change this
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=GB
TO this
ro.product.locale.language=ko
ro.product.locale.region=KR
Which would work. However nothing seem's to work on MM really annoying, Ive been over my wifes korean g4 which is on MM also, and tried to match the most I can in the build.prop without messing it up.
Things to note.
Build.prop notes
ro.product.model=F400k - But settings/about still reads D855 (CPU-Z reads it as F400K)
ro.product.locale=ko_KR - but all apps I''ve been into with SQlite still read as en_GB in the android_metadata
Tried adding these two lines in #ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES
ro.build.target_operator=KT
ro.build.target_country=KR
Bluetoothing the weather app from myphone to the wifes, she still gets Kweather, I get accuweather.
Bluetoothing the weather app from the wifes phone to mine = F/C's
Nothing I seem to do is making the dialer/weather display the Korean regional specific stuff, really would appreciate some help on this matter please.
Thanks you.

Sorry mate MM is still being explored *_*
You need to wait sometime ...

[Q] Question about default.prop

Hi,
I'm having a few minor problems with the Android Market since rooting. For example, a game I paid for called "My Paper Plane 2" is nolonger available to download even though the trial/demo is available.
I've tried a lot of the fixes on this forum and with no success so far and while looking through the contents of default.prop and build.prop I found something that I wondered if an entry in the default.prop file might be contributing to this problem.
This is the line I am wondering about in default.prop
ro.product.locale.region=US
I did a bit of googling on the phrase "ro.product.locale.region=" and noticed that this line varies....
ro.product.locale.region=IT
ro.product.locale.region=FR
ro.product.locale.region=GB
...as a few examples.
As I'm based in the UK, could this be why the market isn't showing all the apps I would expect. Should I edit the file (I've pulled a copy off the phone but thought I'd ask the question here before pushing it back just to err on the safe side) to GB and reboot? Or has anyone else got any suggestions on what might be causing this?
As a few more examples, I can't also find the demo of Touchdown but I can see the full paid app.
And another game called Armageddon Squadron doesn't appear either.
And a program suggested to search for on this website...
careace.net/2010/06/16/how-to-fix-protected-android-market-app/
"Dr Droid"
...well, I can see the demo but not the full paid version.
You need to modify build.prop/default.prop for valid
ro.build.fingerprint=xxxxxxxxxx
for the UK market. Your OS version might be not authorised for the UK market yet.
For the Japan market I've had to use the fingerprint from the older OS.
Hi and thanks for the reply wildthing_san,
I've pulled a copy of the build and default files from an original X10i that I issues to one of my directors which looks like this...
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/X10_1235-7379/SonyEricssonX10i/es209ra:1.6/R2BA020/1274691689:user/rel-keys
And from looking at this forum page...
http :// forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907&page=239
...the bit that looks important seems to be the bit I bolded.
However, on checking through the default file, there are a couple of other references to this like...
ro.semc.version.cust=1235-7379
ro.product.name=X10_1235-7379
I also can't find any reference to that number in the build file.
So my question is, (in a kind of is it safe way) should I just update the default file finger print in my phone to include that 1235-7379 reference, i.e. change it from....
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/X10_1232-9897/SonyEricssonX10i/es209ra:1.6/R2BA024/1276581782:user/rel-keys
to...
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/X10_1235-7379/SonyEricssonX10i/es209ra:1.6/R2BA024/1276581782:user/rel-keys
...and ignore those other references or change those as well?
EDIT: Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you my friend.
Your suggestions were spot on, I did basically what I was wondering above including the extra two changes to the version and name and everything works spot on!!!!
Thanks again mate! Really appreciate the help/advice.
Might have spoken too soon. Some apps have come back. But not all. Still missing one polarbit game and strangely a couple of unimportant free apps. Trying the clears cache trick and will wait 24hrs to see if things continue to improve. My Paper plane 2 is back atleast
Sorry for hijacking your thread sligthly, I would appreciate it if somebody could upload a Nordic, or preferrably Swedish default.prop.
Im curious to see what the following lines looks like
ro.semc.country=
ro.semc.locale.language=
ro.semc.locale.region=
Anyone ?
Please ??

Great it works
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Good job. What about ar=Arabic?
oh you beat me to it, I had just started retranslating SD2.3 yesterday
iT iS Me, i could, if you point me to ROM (Froyo or Gingerbread) that has Arabic language.
TheManii, i didn't want to I needed Russian and played "what if" game with framework and apps. It took only several hours of pure time.

Off:
Sadly, i can't stay on GB2.3b2 on work days as i really need USSD codes working. I've tried some phone apps from other ROMs, but having knowledge next to nothing, i didn't manage them even to run. Strange, 2.2 ROM didn't suffer from this problem.
Otherwise, good ROM - a couple of reboots and one slight timedrift don't bother much.
Localization is not the original.
Yes, it's not:
"I've added international resources from Nexus ROM"
Therefore uterny lines in applications and framework-res.apk
Yep, but they don't cause any trouble.

Where to see it?
ROM, i've used resources from:

I am really fond of your work, but I have a request you might be able to fill.
As you maybe know, DJSteve has released SD2.4, but flashing either of these zips over that makes the phone unusable. Whenever there is an incoming call the phone crashes.
Could you perhaps re-build the additional languages based on StreakDroid 2.4?
Thanks in advance
No problem, i'll do it. Are you recieving calls ok when using usual SD 2.4?
Here it is:
http://n0p.8bit.fm/streak/IntlGB24b.zip
Please note that it's completely untested, as i cannot flash SD2.4 now.
Make a nandroid backup first!
Hello,
Thanks a lot I have just tried it and it works from what I have tried.
Incoming calls are received and the phone doesn't crash. The dialer crashes on 240dpi, but that I can live with.
If there's anything else I can/should test I'd like to know
OK, good for blind job.
Another attempt (Phone DPI crash possible fix):
http://n0p.8bit.fm/streak/IntlGB24bPhone.zip
If it won't work, just flash back original update.
Unfortunately that breaks the dialer/incoming calls completely
Well, it was worth a try, anyway. Will try to look into this problem on next week.

[8.1] [NEX S] [GLOBAL VERSION] Stable Working Google Camera with working Night Sight.

Friends,
I have been away from the Nex for many months and now have bought another Nex S (India) and tried some Google Camera ports. Found a super stable version. Everything works.
I have unfortunately not been able to remember exactly which dev made this apk, plus i've smallied and stringed some parts onto it for the Nex.
I am sharing a Google drive link for it along with the screenshot of the configuration that I use.
Hope it helps.
p.s. - If anyone comes to know the original .apk link of it, lemme know - i'd share it.
GOOGLE CAMERA
I tried to pull in and cheerypick the xml loader off some ports but unfortunately they're crashing so you'd have to punch in the configurations yourself.

Dual Sim Bar

After a long trial and error I found a rom for S7 Edge FD model Superman Rom though it is a bit old with July 2018 Security patch but it has most of the features like smart capture, private mode etc but then here comes the most annoying stupid Dual sim bar. I wanted to remove it did everything including googling scorching xda but to no end. Though I found these two posts partially helpful.
To add a Button(preferred) in setting to turn of that stupid piece of Sh*t
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76918617&postcount=276
To completely remove it
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76918617&postcount=276
Now the problem is I successfully decompiled modified but can't wrap my head around how to recompile it so I did everything from following every guide to trying to be creative but it is not helping tried almost 20 times . Also tried this help to recompile honestly can't understand it.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76259533&postcount=40
So I did a bit more research and found that it is possible as it is included in Killsitch's BlackDiamondV4SamsungOneUI RomControl but no option in Supermanrom control even I tried pro version of that apk. Also tried to contact devs(busy people) no response.
So my request is can someone please do it for me.. Please :crying::crying:
Thanks in Advance..!
Excuse my poor English.
Here is the link to SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk from Superman Rom.

[Q] how to customize g920/g925 rom

So I want to try customizing a rom for my g925, but all the information I can find is outdated and abandoned or specific to a certain device or incomplete. I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but I just don't know what to look for.
I think the best way is using a kitchen based on what I've read so far, so is there one that works for s6 and s6 edge and works on windows? I've never dealt with linux, so I'd rather not have to start there. Cygwin is what I'd need right?
Somewhat related, (my g925f 32gb is gonna be replaced by a g925t 128gb once I figure all this out) there's a bunch of videos on youtube (with links to download the file) to convert a g925t to g925f. These work fine, but still come with bloatware, so I'd like to make it myself. I found only one thread that doesn't work anymore because the basebands don't match or something.
Do I need a ton of space and time to build from source, or can I just modify the tar.md5 contents?
If anyone could help or point me in the right direction, I'd be really grateful!
Mmm. Somehow in all of my searches, I never found chef central. Now I've gotten somewhere. Should be able to narrow down my broad questions now.
Been using ASSAYYED Kitchen with great results. Got the stock MM rom totally debloated and updated some apps to the version I prefer!
Now I need to figure out how to disable the volume warning. I found this thread but it seems to be outdated for MM on the s6 edge. Still might be there hiding in the 1100+ pages of comments.
Also need to figure out how to make bootanimation.qmg's and such now that samsung's theme maker has been turned into a license application. I still have a few alternatives to look into like katkit or themeDIY. Bet I could probably find the old theme designer program floating around archive.org or elsewhere too.
Also need to bundle themes with the rom.
So I figured out how to disable the safe volume warning on 6.0.1 finally. Found this post, so I added
Code:
audio.safemedia.bypass=true
on its own line in build.prop at the end of the ADDITIONAL_BUILD_PROPERTIES section. Nice thing is it still leaves the little red zone in case I ever use the stock earbuds again, heh.
Now off to adding a new kernel and themes and bootanimations.
