I'm really tired of the black box/black screen glitch with KK 4.4 on this tablet. (If anyone has a solution besides flashing JB, please let me know). I would like to revert back to Jelly Bean, which doesn't have the problem. I know the stock images are at the myKIT_BATCHV1.1.x thread. So what is the best/easiest way to flash it to my tab? Please help a noob out! Thanks!
Success!!! Using these instructions and 3830 files:

You can't upgrade if you're rooted, you'll have to flash a KDZ back to 12b and update from there. Opinions will vary, but i was rooted and xposed on 4.4.2, when i upgraded to 5.0 it took me about an hour to flash my KDZ back to 12b because i was unhappy with it overall. You can root 5.0 and their is a very alpha version of xposed out that needs to be flashed from a recovery and only about 30 modules or so at this point that are working. Sorry I can supply anymore info but this may help bump attention to get the rest of your answers.
One last note is if you dont mind the factory resets, and if you go with a KDZ, once everythings set up it takes less than a few minutes to flash the KDZ from a computer with the phone in download mode, so if you're not happy you can jump back to 4.4.2 if you'd like.
Thanks, im wonder why you was unhappy for and thanks for the heads up. I dont mind factory reset my phone and the whole nine yards. But before i go and get android 5 i want to know how good or bad it is and hope it answers my questions
I also forgot one more question. Has xprivacy got an update that it fully works on android 5. Ever since i was told about it i loved it. I tried useing cm12 or 13 forgot what cm h3ld android 5. But i tried to install it and it notified me it didnt support lollipop if it dose i might be thinking of xsposed framework

Pardon my ignorance (I'm good with HTC and Samsung device terms, but not so much on LG), but what is KDZ and is there instructions for doing what you explain somewhere on XDA?
I only ask as my wife has a G3 with Verizon that is stock Kit Kat, rooted and bumped. I am interested in knowing how to get her phone on stock lollipop.
I got a Fire HD 6, and it came with 4.1.1 and started upgrading to 4.5.3
I disabled WiFi straight away, because I know you can't root the newest versions.
My questions are, do I just follow a guide for rooting 4.1.1, and then let the device update itself?
I'm a bit confused because I read about different bootloaders, etc.
Thanks
Hi guys,
I have a Dell Venue 8 7840 running a rooted android 5.1 .
As I really need to install xposed on it, and as the only working version of xposed runs just on 5.0.1 and not on 5.1 I've tried my best to find a way to downgrade it to 5.0.1 without being able to succeed.
I just wasn't able to find some working 5.0.1 fies on xda or even googling them. I've downloaded pretty everything I've found: droidboot files, dell flashtool files, 5.1 update zips for the recovery, even a kitkat nandroid image (with the intention to update it to 5.0.1 ) that unfortunately I wasn't able to restore (different partition scheme?).
Once there was a guide here on xda by some of you guys that was showing how to rever back from 5.1 to 5.0.1 but it got edited and so it's lost.
Giving for granted that I've already unlocked the bootloader, flash with dell flashtool and used the tethered recoveries multiple times, do you guys by chance have a clear idea about how to downgrade from 5..1 to 5.0.1 in order to be able to used the only xposed version that works on this nice piece of hardware?
Thank you very much in avance to anyone who could provide any simple suggestion!
I was able to downgrade to 5.0.2 following this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/general/how-to-unbrick-dell-venue-8-7840-t3323249
EDIT: xposed framework work perfectly on 5.0.2 . I'm perfectly happy with it now
Hello guys,
I am noob on android devices and I would like to upgrade my IconiaTab A501 because most of applications are not compatible with this version.
I am in Android 4.0.3 and I would like to upgrade to the lastest one.
I have tried to do the system update but it always says the network cover is too low please move to another place to get better cover. I have read on internet that this message means it cant be updated by itself we need to find another way as it does not concern wifi.
I saw that its now Android 9.1 but i am not sure it can be installed in my tablet.
Could you guys please help to know which is the lastest Android version i can install in my A501?
Also my image is Acer_AV041_A501_RV20RC08_WW_GEN1
Thanks for your help
